Fractured Soul
By Helen Johnston

📚 Dark Paranormal Romance
📚 Fated Mates
📚 Interspecies 🌶
📚 Mental Health
📚 Ready Made Family
📚 Possessive MMC

"..before growling at his friend. That sound, it sounds so feral, so animalistic, I have to say I might have become damp."

This is book 3 of the wolf pack series and has darker hemes than he rest of the 3. This one had me awake all hours to finish. Read the Trigers as always. Helen your just smashing these books. I Love them so much. It is so hard to get a smutty smutty book with a fantastic story line but Helen does it every time. The Interspecies 🌶 is done so well its tasteful and not cringey.

Since learning snippets of Felix an hes sixes trauma in the Alpha Legend ive needed to know more. He really did take alot of the sixes trauma. But having it from Felixs POV was really sad. Im so glad he got hes story and it really didnt go where I was expecting it to go. All the men and woman in these books deserve their story to be heard and to find their mates and live the lifes they deserve.

Another spice rating of 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

If this makes it onto your TBR wear a tenna lady your going to need it.

Fractured Soul is book 3 in the wolf pack series by Helen Johnston.

This book focuses mainly on Felix from the 6 and tells everything from his POV. This book has alot of darker themes with regards to mental health, ptsd, SA, blood play etc. So do take heed of the triggers. Felix has always been my favourite as much as I love Lyle, Ralph & Jack!

Helen's writing is amazing as always, and although she truely is the legendary queen of smut, her books never fails to have a plot & a story too.

Book 3 is by far my favourite, Felix's story and POV, REALLY needed told. I seriously dont want this series to ever end.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to not only ARC this book, but also Alpha it Helen ❤️🐺

Slightly disappointed with this book. I really thought it was going to be the best of the 3 but ultimately it wasn’t for me.

There was so much potential for this book and what Helen wrote was great I just felt there could’ve been a bit more about the rest of the 6. I’m glad Felix found his mate though and there was a happy ending all round.

I was kindly gifted this book through wings and words community

Fractured Soul was such a powerful and emotional read. Following Felix and Ellis’s journey completely pulled me in. I really appreciated how important it was to share Felix’s story, especially around themes of abuse. Definitely check trigger warnings before going in.

The pacing was super fast with so many twists and turns, I honestly felt like I was getting whiplash at times but in the best way! I was hooked the whole way through. My only complaint is that I wanted more…I wasn’t ready for their story to end.

Another fab book by Helen!!

What a book! Fractured Soul is the last book in this trilogy and it was brilliant. Loved it. Felix and his 6 have a place in my heart, they really do!

Ellis is our strong FMC she's also amazing and fits in to pack life super easy.

If your a fan of shifters and some spicy with some possessive and protective make characters then this is definitely a book you 100% need to read.

Thank you to Wings and Words for letting me read this book as an ARC.

Fractured Soul is book three in 'The Wolf Pack' series and although it is amazing it didn't hit as hard for me as I thought it would. This book follows Felix, our favourite white furred, damaged Wolf who just so happens to be the Alpha of the Six. Throughout this read we dive head first into Felix's world and mind, taking us back to the depths of his mental health and the route causes of it. Helen tackles Felix's hurdles well and takes us through his past with upmost respect.

I loved getting to know Felix and his demons, being able to truly understand what he has been through and how it has affected him. This is definitely a journey that is packed full of growth, pain and healing. Not only showing how others love him but how he learns to love himself.

Of course with the above Fractured Soul comes with a long list of triggers, however do NOT let them frighten you. I was expecting pitch black throughout however, I found it wasn't actually as dark as expected. Yes, there are generally dark themes, but the darker ones are sprinkled rather than baked into to the story, if you get me.

One of my highlights of this read was the character development, specifically our leading man, Felix. He has seen it all, truly, but he finally learns to love himself and understand that he is worth happiness (which we all knew and shouted to him through the pages). With the help of his six, pack and a rather special leading lady (Ellis) Felix finds his happiness. The dynamic between Felix and Ellis is beautiful and is truly where this read excels! It is fast paced, intense, possessive and fierce!

Fractured Soul is easy to read and flows well, my only downer which is probably a 'me' thing is that I felt there was this massive build up from book one to this 'takedown' of a character which ended with not many fireworks if you get me, it just felt a little rushed.

Overall I LOVED this book!! I am an avid Helen fan, she is definitely on my auto read list! Fractured Soul is dark, intense and perfectly Felix! So get on the band wagon and read it.

Thank You Helen and Beth from Wings & Words for the opportunity to ARC read this! This review is written voluntary and all my own words.

Fractured Soul by Helen Johnston is the third installment in the dark, erotic shifter romance series.
Bring tissues/blanket and chocolate, you will definitely need them!
Felix is possibly my favourite, a tortured soul (yes he is) alpha to the core (damn straight) and thinks he’s unworthy of love (ticks all those boxes)

This book focuses on Felix, a key member of the wolf pack (notably from “the Six” referenced in earlier books), delivering a much darker, more intense story than the previous ones.

Felix is deeply tormented by persistent nightmares, overwhelming guilt, and self loathing that convince him he’s irreparably broken. 😢
The story explores his internal struggles with mental health, trauma from his past (including survival of horrific events as a young wolf), and the ongoing shadows that haunt the pack despite their hard won freedom and stability.

As the pack continues to navigate life after escaping captivity (established in book 1) and facing threats (book 2), Felix’s fractured psyche becomes central. The plot delves into his battle against his inner demons.

If you’ve read book one and two, you’ll know the level of spice/smut you can expect. And it’s delivered to you, with a side helping of 🥵 🥵
It does tie up a few loose ends from books one and two, and we do catch up with previous characters from the said books.
I’m hoping we get a story (novella) about the rest of the “6” 🙏

If you loved the protective alphas and heat in books 1 and 2 but want a grittier, more tormented hero’s journey to read, this delivers.

This book was an emotional and intense read that really stayed with me.

Felix, the alpha of the Six, is such a deeply scarred character. After everything he’s endured, including devastating abuse and the lingering effects of PTSD, his struggle to see his own worth is heartbreaking — especially when he meets his mate and feels like he isn’t good enough. His journey isn’t easy to read at times, but it feels raw and very real.

Ellis is just as compelling in her own way. Stuck in a job she hates, her life takes a sudden turn when Felix offers her a position at the club — and just when things seem to be looking up, tragedy strikes. Losing her sister and suddenly becoming responsible for her twins, while also dealing with her grief and need for justice, adds so much depth and emotion to her story.

What really stood out to me was the theme of found family and healing. These characters are broken in different ways, but watching them come together and support each other was incredibly powerful.

I’ll be honest, this isn’t always an easy read — it tackles some very heavy and difficult subjects — but it’s handled with care and sensitivity, which I really appreciated.

Thank you to the author for telling such a moving, emotionally driven story. I’m really looking forward to seeing what comes next. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank you to Helen Johnston for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Fractured Soul continues the story within The Wolf Pack series with emotional depth, tension, and strong character dynamics. The story blends supernatural elements with personal struggles, creating a narrative that feels both engaging and emotionally driven.

What stood out most to me was the emotional journey of the characters. As the story unfolds, their challenges, relationships, and growth add layers to the narrative and make it easy to stay invested in what happens next.

The pacing moves steadily, revealing new developments while maintaining the tension that keeps the story compelling. The supernatural elements also add excitement and intrigue to the overall plot.

This is a 4 ⭐ for me because:

• the character development added emotional depth
• the supernatural elements made the story engaging
• the tension between characters kept the narrative interesting
• the pacing maintained momentum throughout the story

Emotional. Intense. Engaging.

Read this book if you like:

• paranormal romance
• wolf shifter stories
• character-driven supernatural plots
• emotionally layered relationships

Best book in the series!! I didn't know how much I needed Felix's story till I read it. Everything he has gone through is brought to light so please make sure you read the trigger warning's (I have made a note of the chapters that cover the BIG triggers if you need them message me) These triggers are things such as Child Abuse, SA, Traumatic Birth and Attempted Suicide

Fractured Soul follows the story of Felix and Ellis, both have their hardships and must come together to help each other get through them. I love their instant connection, I like to believe that it isn't always the mate pull that gives them these feelings instantly, and it's themselves wanting to be with that other person, especially these two when they have so much stuff happening that brings them together.

Now just because heavy topics are mentioned in this book, does not mean there isn't any heavy petting, Helen our queen of smut has knocked it out of the park once again with the pure filth that she has written for us to indulge in.

Now the question is Helen will we ever get The 6's POV, perhaps in a novella?

This is a paranormal romance that packs an emotional punch and explores the true cost of heroism, Fractured Soul is a mandatory addition to your TBR pile. This isn't just another alpha wolf story; it’s a raw, poignant look at trauma and the grueling journey toward healing. Felix may hold the prestigious title of Alpha of the Six, but his status was forged in the fires of a living nightmare. As a young boy, he and his packmates were treated like livestock—caged, tested, and beaten. To save the younger wolves, Felix became their literal shield, absorbing every ounce of punishment meant for them until he finally led them to freedom. Haunted by nightmares that refuse to let go. Fighting a rising tide of self-loathing and the conviction that he is broken beyond repair. Hiding his descent into darkness behind "sharp edges" even as his pack begins to rebuild.this is a must read book trust me you don’t be disappointed ~Thank you, Beth, and the rest of the Wings and Words Arc Community for the free Arc of this book. I'm leaving this review voluntarily.~

I give it 3.75 ⭐️

This is the third book in the series, and quite a lot happens in this book.
It’s hard to say too much without spoiling, but the story takes several emotional turns.
I really enjoyed getting to follow Felix more deeply in this book. We’ve met him before, but here you really get to know him better and understand what he’s been through. He carries a lot of pain and after everything he’s been through, it’s not surprising.
He also meets Ellis, who is his mate, and there is an instant connection between them. Their relationship quickly becomes an important part of the story.
After a major tragedy, life changes for Felix and Ellis. They are faced with a completely new responsibility and receive help from the rest of the pack. I really liked seeing how strong the pack bond is and how they support each other.

This review is voluntary.

Thank you so much Helen and Wings & Words community for letting me be a part of the team.❤️🌺

Wow what a book.

The events that poor Felix had to go through when he was younger with are completely gutting. You learn so much more about him and the reason way he is the way he is. Seeing the relationship and acceptance between him and Ellis is lovely to see and you start to see him grow.

Ellis is a strong women who has to deal with a lot in a short amount of time but handles it all perfectly and it a the perfect fit for Felix.

You also get a little glimpse of more of the Six’s characters and o can’t wait to hear more about them - which I’m hoping will happen.

There’s also the super soft sides of all the Males when the young arrive it’s lovely to read about and the sweetest gestures from the males you would least expect it from.

The story line of this book is great and you learn so much about all of them.

Overall a great read and I would definitely recommend.

A huge thank you to Wings & Words and Helen Johnston for the opportunity to ARC read this title. I’m always incredibly grateful to be trusted with an early read.

If you’re looking for a deliciously spicy read, this book may well be for you ~ Helen Johnston absolutely delivers on her “Queen of Smut” title.

Please note: this review contains spoilers and touches on potentially triggering content. ‼️

I went into this really wanting to love it, because there’s so much potential in the premise. British shifters, complex trauma, and plenty of spice is such a compelling mix.

While there’s a lot to enjoy, a few elements didn’t fully land for me. The pacing felt a little uneven at times; for example, Felix’s emotional journey moved very quickly from a deeply vulnerable place where he tries to commit suicide to acceptance and intimacy with his mate within a short span of time, which made it harder for me to fully connect with that transition.

And… I do have to gently mention the wolf scenes. As someone eats monster romance for breakfast, I’m not easily fazed. Unfortunately this pushed me past my personal comfort zone. I think if the wolf had come across as more sentient or humanoid, I’d have been able to get on board a bit more. As it stands, I did find myself really uncomfortable, which may absolutely work for some readers, but wasn’t quite for me.

That said, there is so much here that I genuinely loved. The world-building is immersive, and the found family dynamics were a real highlight, those relationships felt warm, authentic, and engaging throughout. The setting itself was also beautifully done.

I also want to give a huge amount of credit to Helen for her handling of male SA through Felix’s character. His trauma and its lasting impact were portrayed with care and nuance, and some of the smaller details—like the ways he copes and protects himself—felt particularly powerful and thoughtfully written.

Overall, this was a mixed experience for me, but one I’m still glad I had. While it didn’t fully align with my personal preferences, I can absolutely see it finding the right audience, especially for readers who enjoy darker, more boundary-pushing PNR with emotional depth.

This series is amazing I was an ARC reader for this book and had to read the first two before I started to get into the storyline and I absolutely loved them this book is quite dark in parts and follows Felix's story as he finds his mate the love between them , The absolute heartbreak that runs through this book and the danger to the group was offset by a high level of spice and I love how the author didn't shy away from the mental health PTSD aspect of the book and the characters didn't treat Felix as less for dealing with it

Fractured Soul closes out the series with intensity, darkness, and a connection that is as gripping as it is complicated.

Before diving in, I highly recommend checking the trigger warnings. This book tackles some genuinely dark themes. I’m not someone who is easily triggered, but there were a couple of moments where I had to pause and take a breath—particularly the scenes revealing what Felix endured during his captivity.

One of the highlights of this book for me was Ellis. I found her far more relatable than Bailey from Dark Possession. Bailey’s sheltered nature sometimes made it difficult for me to connect with her, whereas Ellis felt much more grounded and believable within the chaos surrounding her.

The relationship between Ellis and Felix is where the story truly shines. Their connection is dark, intense, and fiercely possessive, yet there are moments that feel surprisingly wholesome beneath the shadows.

The pacing is quick and the story is engaging from start to finish. I did find myself wishing we had seen a little more of Ellis settling into life with Felix and the Six and exploring the pack dynamic further. That integration could have added an extra layer of depth to the conclusion.

That said, Fractured Soul was an exciting and emotionally charged way to close out what has been a fun, spicy, and dramatic series.

Thank you to Helen Johnston, and Beth at Wings and Words for the advanced copy.

Fractured Soul is book 3 in the Wolf Pack Trilogy. An extra spicy shifter romance, and of you've read the others you know the intensity their exchanges and the intimacy with their mates in wolf form.

I appreciate the focus on Felix's mental health and the continued understanding by Lyle of the need for therapy and support. Once Felix actually accepts the mating bond, I love how he is all in with everything that comes with Ellis. so happy he finally gets his HEA.
