I enjoy historical religious fantasy but this dragged. Nothing seemed to be happening for most of it and the interesting stuff got stuffed into the ending.

We continue the adventures of Dion.

This time we are returning to Moria and Dion meets her family for the first time in about 18 years.

She was sold when she 4 years of age to Michael of Moria who wanted to confirm if girls had the brains and temperament to be a mage. Instead our Dion becomes the demonslayer of Gallias.

Dion accidentally ends up in the midst of a civil war, necromancy and a host of familial obligations.

A beautiful read, love and family, demons and horrors set in a medieval world. It remains a favorite of mine for a reason.

This is one for Mercedes Lackey fans. There is engaging dialogue, a richly-woven history for the land and a good deal of character development (especially where the main female character is concerned). In addition there is magic, which is always fun in well-written fantasy. :)

Pretty good fantasy novel -- but don't get the clan destine press ebook. It isn't proofed and it's an incredible pain in the ass to read. The writing is good, though.
