Tanner Returns and The Conglomerate wants him dead.
With their resources and vast troops of lethal thugs, The Conglomerate assumed that killing one man would be easy.
They were wrong!
While Tanner is just one man, he is the last man you want to go to war with, and when he teams up with another target of The Conglomerate, he doubles his chances at surviving.
But this is war, and The Conglomerate plays to win. Enter Lars Gruber, possibly the greatest assassin in the world, and now he's set his sights on Tanner. It's hit man vs. hit man and only one can survive.
Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
Kill in Plain Sight A Tanner Novel, Volume 2 By: Remington Kane Narrated by: Daniel Dorse This book deals with the Conglomerate coming after Tanner. They finally hire a hit man to assassinate the hit man! Lots of action, danger, and Tanner outwitting his foes! Enjoyable! Narration, not so much!
This Book is A GREAT READ! This Story is full of action on every page, starting with page one! A lot of great characters ... Good & Bad! This Book is worth your time to read & also worth purchasing!
Tanner is a hitman, who has the Conglomerate wanting him dead after he didn't follow through on a job for them. Unfortunately for them, Tanner is the best in the business. There is plenty of action and. I can't wait for the next one. Donald Wells writing as Remington Kane for the Tanner series is a plus since I really enjoy the Taken series. This book surpasses the first and the next book should be even better.
Tanner, a hit man, has mellowed out in this second outing. A continuation of the first book, Tanner is continuing his quest to take out the leaders of "The Conglomerate". At the same time, he is being pursued by Sara Blake, a disgraced ex FBI agent whose mission in life is to kill Tanner.
For those who have read Richard Stark's Parker novels, Tanner is very much like that character. Totally ruthless with periods of fairness towards 'non combatants'.
Mr. Kane does it again. The characters just keep getting better. I really enjoyed all the plot twists and tricks. The plotting is even more detailed than the first book and I can't wait to read what Tanner's up to next. If you love to read books with fast action and never a dull moment, then this is the series for you.
'Kill In Plain Sight' was very thrilling. The story line pulled me in from the beginning and didn't let go. The premise was incredibly intriguing. The way Mr. Kane weaves his stories are quite creative and different. I love his ability to create characters that you can identify with and love, and then there's the ones you hope get killed in a brutal fashion (morbid, I know). Tanner is always surprising me with his ability to adapt to almost any circumstance. I can't wait to read more of this series. Definitely a must add to your tbr list. Recommended read.
A nonstop action adventure. A mixture of mob, assassins, street thugs, add a dose of hot women, and you've got 'Kill in Plain Sight'. Although it's well written with a superbly twisting plot and lots of action, there is a lack of depth to the story. It feels more like 'YA' genre than 'Action Thriller'. The editing is clean, the character development okay, and none of the gratuitous sex and violence normally associated with this type of story. Overall, it was very entertaining.
I really enjoyed this book. The author kept you on the edge of your seat calculating what Tanner is up to and how he wisely tricks a hired killer and The Conglomerate into ultimately being destroyed.
With the help of a computer whiz kid, Tanner not only gets himself off the hook with the Conglomerate but the kid also. How he plans, sucks in and ultimately destroys the thugs and hired killer of The Conglomerate is intriguing.
I have just been racking my brain trying to come up with who could play Tanner in a movie. So far I have narrowed it to three movie stars present and three movie stars from the past. I have fallen for this character who we first think that's only some cold blooded killer and you get one that's so complex and who lives by a code. I would so recommend this book and series to anyone interested in action.
Along time ago an author created The Executioner-One's man war against the Mafia, excellent nostalgia fixed in time. (The precursor of The Punisher) Years later change the Marine/special forces warrior to an ex-mob hitman and the Mafia to The Conglomerate and we have the new version of said Executioner. So in my eyes a winning formula. Tanner is the modern day Mack Bolan Enjoyed the tongue in cheek wit of this one Action packed fun all the way.
A good easy reading thriller that has Tanner albeit with help from two crafty but not totally stupid brothers take on thugs and gunmen from a criminal organisation. The body counts rises and the death of the hitman brought in to kill Tanner gives him the opportunity to fake his death and also get a retired FBI agent who wants him dead of his back.
The action is so good, I read it nonstop. Tanner is very deceptive in his approach to murder. I guess that's what keeps him alive. And his supporting characters are interesting especially Rafe. Looking forward to the next drama.
Good mystery. Tanner is a great assassin with lots of experience.
Looking forward to reading more of this series. Tanner seems to have a real vendetta against the Conglomerate. He is very good at disguising himself and killing his e enemies.
Liked this book as much as the first one. Love that so many characters returned. Funny at times but fast paced and engaging. For people who can take lots of killing and a lot of gore. It’s fiction - good escape reading!
This was such a great book. It was full of twist and turns suspense, and even laughter. Remington Kane has an interesting take on mystery and suspense. And he clearly has a great sense of humor in order to write this book.
After reading other fictional books on assassin's, I found this one is right on par with the rest. This series of books will keep you interested for sure.
