At first glance, this book could be called cute and one should be glad that stories celebrating humanity are increasingly appearing in modern literature. The author's idea certainly deserves praise: a cozy establishment that has become a magnet for a wide variety of destinies, and a kaleidoscope of independent stories held together by this place. Each chapter, it would seem, is designed to open the door to the world of miracles.
However, behind this "mimicry" shell lies a work that causes irritation rather than emotion. The root of the problem lies in the characters. Whether individually or collectively, they appear unnaturally flawless, sickly sweet. This kindness looks so fake that it gives rise to sincere bewilderment.
This is especially at odds with the harsh reality that the author unknowingly shows. And the more you read, the more the amount of molasses increases. Each character, in each chapter, necessarily overcomes his problems and solves all the problems that arise. In general, there was a kind of team of "superheroes" who were able to handle everything.
As a result, there is a vague aftertaste, as if you have eaten something wrong. Although the main idea of finding an "island of kindness" in a cold world is understandable, the presentation is so insincere that it devalues the idea itself. While the first chapters are still interesting, by the fourth chapter, reading becomes unbearably tedious, and you want to close the book as soon as possible. The phrase "I finished reading it and thank God" best describes the overall feeling of this work.
Самая тёплая и душевная по атмосфере книга, которую я читала за последнее время! Сюжет помогает осознать, как незначительные для кого-то вещи как помощь, поддержка или совет могут изменить жизнь другого человека.
