The story was good. In a few places there were lulls in the story, that slowed my interest. I did not feel a deep and abiding connection between Swift and Starlah. And.... The characters names were something else. Colt, Braelyn, Creed, Lucky, Chevy, Money, and Choppa. Overall, the story was pretty good. 3.75 stars.
I absolutely loved book 10 of the BLP Breeds Series!!!! Tisha did an amazing job telling Starlah and Swift’s story. I can’t wait to read more of her catalog.
Starlah and Swift met during a very difficult time in Starlah’s life, she was dealing with grief and her boyfriend betraying her and when he saw her all her wanted to do was take care of her because she was different than the rest. And even in her grief she knew he was the one she needed. And his mama and daddy are hilarious and so in love!!!
You definitely need to add this book and the rest of this series to your TBR!!
Oh baby this was good. It had my interest from page one til the end. All of the characters and storyline were effortlessly written and interesting. Swift, the MMC who’s nurturing, patient, and the ultimate ladies man builds a bond with Starlah the beautiful, hardworking, and reserved FMC. While he’s helping her through some sad and tragic times will discover the more he spends time with her there’s more to her and he wants to know and explore all things Starlah Steel.
I was not expecting that to happen. Dang!!! My poor boo Starlah. I am so happy she had Chevy because Colt was not man enough for her. Who tears someone down because they do not want to deal with your cheating. I guess he was good for something.
Now Swift... he was a HOT mess until that southern belle caught his eye. I loved how attentive he was to Star and Chevy. Trying to keep a smile on her face in the darkest days and her bed warm on cool nights.
Swift was just like his daddy, Cain… love sick behind his woman. He didn’t think he’d ever fall for a woman, but coming back after family friends passed, he got just that. Star grew up and he was feeling her. She was dealt a sad hand in life, but Swift and his parents plus Logan were right there for her. I love how attentive and loving he was with Starlah. Colt was supposed to be that for her, but he was on some sneaky stuff. Papa and Chevy were their owners protectors.
There was an instant attraction between Swift and Starlah when Swift came to town with his parents. Out of tragedy, Starlah was able to find the love of her life in Swift. Papa and Chevy were so cute and very protective and loving with their owners. My least favorite character was Colt, Starlah's ex. I was glad when Starlah stopped giving him the time of day because she deserved much better than him. I hated what Starlah had to go through, but in the long run, it brought Swift and Papa into her life.
This was a little too slow to get to the point. It was a lot of back story before we get to what the story is supposed to be about. Too many names and moving parts as the story starts. It was a little fast and slow at the same time if that makes sense. I did love the community and family looking out for family aspect of the story the Brighton’s made the story.
This story had potential but to me it was all over the place and was a bit hard to keep up with the way it was written. The main couple does get their happily ever after though and I did like the connection between them.
I like this booked. Some families you don't have to be born into. Logan stepped up and helped his Lucky daughter even when he didn't have too. He even brought his family in to help. I have people like that in my life and I'm greatful
