Jessica Smith is the new girl in school…during the second semester…of her senior year.
Not exactly ideal.
Her mom’s new boyfriend, one in a long line of pathetic middle-aged men her mom clings to, is the reason they’re here—in Sunnyvale. The name must have been constructed ironically because there’s nothing sunny about this town. The kids in her class are all consumed with prom, and more importantly—who will be this year's prom queen and king.
Not that Jessica could care. Prom’s not really her thing.
But when prom court candidates start disappearing, Jessica takes notice. Disappearances turn to murders and it becomes clear that someone or something is picking off the seniors of Sunnyvale High. And Jessica could be next.
Is someone willing to kill in order to become prom queen?
This was such a fun, quick, spicy little horror novella and I ate it up! This gives everything it promises. 80s, Carrie vibes of a slasher horror movie comes to prom. Absolutely campy and unhinged.
This is a prequel to Last Summer, which I had already read and enjoyed, and I feel like this sets up everything in such a good way. I do think, if I were coming to these books brand new, I would start here because I personally enjoy chronological order.
This does have some heavy triggers, so definitely check before reading. I am not easily triggered, but this one teetered riiiiight at the edge for me.
Thank you to LO Gold and Luna K Wicked for providing an advanced copy of this for me to read! All opinions are my own.
Being a ARC reader for this wonderful book I’m happy I read this book in one go it was so good, I could not put it down, it was gripping me from the get go, wanting, needing to know what was happening next. It being a short novella this was easy to do! The wit and the banter between them was brilliant and realistic!
Reading the first one is where I fell in love and so glad the second did not disappoint!
Realising April 4th go get your pre order now, add to wishlist, add to TBR, add it to you life!😍
I am so mad at myself for getting behind because this was such a great slump killer of a book. Slutty prom queen court, incestuous murdering twins, guys who wouldn't know what being faithful was if it bit them in the balls.... yeah this was a ride. Oh, did I mention a masked killer and 80s vibes? Everyone is going to bleed in this book.
"My other hand fists her chestnut waves, pulling her close as I fuck her mouth with the blade, pushing in and pulling out over and over."
Now because this was an ARC read and the book is not released until April 4th, I can’t say much without giving details away. What I will say is.. this is a deeply deranged, hell of a good time, spicy horror novella. Think about the movie Carrie, add a teeny bit from the movie Scream, and toss in that infamous line … “it’s me.. Jessica” and there you have Last Dance.
This novella was short but DEFINITELY packed a punch. We meet the new girl Jessica who just moved with her family to Sunnyvale with her family and has to again start a new school. But this new school is obsessed with all things prom. Then we have Sam and Stacey. Stacey is the badass who has a very “close” relationship with her twin brother Sam so add in those touch him and die vibes. To top things off, there’s a masked unaliver lurking and they’re ticking off the friend group .. one by one.. until prom night. Just when you think you have it all figured out? PLOT TWIST.
Thank you to these 2 amazing authors, Luna K. Wicked & Lo Gold for allowing me to ARC read this book. I finished it in one sitting and had the best time. It’s dark, wild, unhinged, spicy, and definitely gave me the heebie jeebies at times as well. I can’t wait for April 4th so everyone can read this!! Highly recommend!
“To those who showed up at their prom, clothed in taffeta and tulle, and thought to themselves–this party would be much more fun if we added a masked murderer.”
LO & Luna have done it again. Last Dance checks all the boxes.
Smutty 🥵 ✔️ Masked unaliver ✔️ Chaos ✔️ An epilogue leaving you 🤯😱 ✔️
“Sex, drugs, and wannabe prom queens. What could go wrong, am I right?”
Jessica is the new to town student trying to find her place in a sea of mean girls right during prom season. What a joy. Jessica learns early on that the twins, Sam and Stacey, run this school. Stacey has her sights on Prom Queen and will stop at nothing to get exactly what she wants.
“The crown is everything. And I deserve everything.”
The crown surely seemed like everything. If you could even make it to Prom night. As students start falling victim to the masked unaliver on the loose the stakes for Prom Queen are even higher. I loved that we get multiple characters POVs throughout the book. The different perspectives really bring the story and chaos to life. It kept me flipping those pages so fast.
“All of these fools are pathetic fucking wannabes. Fighting to live like it matters.”
If you’re looking for a smutty taboo book that gives off 80s horror/carrie vibes look no further. I highly recommend reading Last Summer first. This book won’t end as well if you haven’t read the first book in my opinion.
I was accepted onto the ARC team for this book just a couple of days ago and received it yesterday. I downloaded it this morning and started reading while doing my cardio on the treadmill—and I couldn’t put it down!!!
The story is just as compelling as it is steamy. The spicy scenes were spicing! And even though I don’t usually read horror—and this is classified as spicy horror—the horror elements didn’t feel like too much for me. I actually enjoyed it immensely! Like I said, I couldn’t put it down and ended up reading it in just a few hours.
Initially, when I saw that the book included blood-relation incest, I wasn’t sure I would like it. However, the way it was presented was really well written. While it’s definitely taboo and not my usual reading material, I still found myself enjoying it.
Overall, a really compelling read by Lo Gold and Luna K. Wicked!
Last Dance is totally awesome! I cannot express how much I enjoyed this crazy ass slasher horror spicy toxic unhinged chaos bomb of a book. This story moves as a fast pace with that keeps the heart pumping, the panties burnin and the mind guessin. This book is one you won’t be able to put down. The world created with the music and all the old school references is such a vibe! Masked stalker unaliving potential prom queens and everyone acting like this is nothing more than any other prom season is written so well and is a most triumphant thrill ride. Enjoyed from start to finish and if you think you’ve figured it out you haven’t. Lo and Luna have done it again with this one. If this is your vibe go read Last Summer cause yeah this Last Girl series by Lo and Luna is totally radical.
“S3x, drūgș, and wannabe prom queens. What could go wrong?”

It’s here! Book two of The Last Girl series is officially live! This taboo, er0tïc 80s horror is a short, super hot read. There’s a masked unaliver on the loose taking out prom queen nominees, and Lo and Luna will have you guessing until the final reveal. I got wild with my guesses, mentally accusing everyone, and they STILL had me surprised. I absolutely loved Last Summer too, and I so hope that this amazing series continues!

What’s in the book? 🔪 Er0t!c horror 🩸 Carrie vibes 🔪 Taboo 🩸 Masked unaliver 🔪 80s vibes 🩸 MF and FF scenes 🔪 Plot twists
LO and Luna nailed it again! This was such a quick and fast paced spicy horror read, and the retro horror movie vibes were AWESOME! I was so excited to get the Carrie/Scream feel in this book, and it is the perfect nostalgia for horror movie lovers that want some smut in their books. I loved that I was kept on the edge of my seat and the constant twist and turns made this book very hard to put down. The spice is immaculate and I love a good taboo mixed in with my reads! I guarantee you will not see that ending coming!
I was really into this at the beginning. The 80s vibe, small-town setting, and multiple POVs pulled me right in. The premise follows a slasher targeting prom queen candidates while everyone else seems oddly unfazed, still partying, walking home alone at night, and completely desensitized to the danger. I loved the gore and the nods to some of my favorite movies. It felt like Mean Girls meets Scream with a sprinkle of Carrie (prom chaos).
Unfortunately, as the story went on, I found myself getting more and more confused, especially with the killer reveal. I did enjoy seeing Danica again!
Please check the trigger warnings due to the taboo elements.
This is pretty much a prequel to the first book, “Last Summer.” And I honestly enjoyed that one more than this one. I still loved the vibes and scenery that was portrayed, but I just couldn’t with these characters. They all just got on my nerves and legit everyone acted like there wasn’t a murderer just walking around killing people. I will say I did enjoy the epilogue and how it ties in the first book.
This was an Arc and I have to say it’s a great novella, it’s all completely f*cked but the deaths were so satisfying so were the twists and killer reveal!
The Scream vibes were done perfectly which of course is always a hit with me as well as other horror classics
The added song per chapter was such a great feature to set a tone absolutely loved that!
What’s better than a masked stranger taking out potential prom queens? One with lots of spice, and a fun guessing game of who’s behind it all that’s what. What a fun quick read!
This book is pretty much Mean Girls meets Carrie, but with a Breakfast Club vibe/setting. I liked the aesthetics and the descriptions of the characters. I liked the setting and the music call backs. That was super clever. This book had a lot of promise, but unfortunately the first quarter of it was the only part I actually liked.
I know fiction can be a wide range of stuff and it doesn't always have to make sense, but in this case, it was mainly the behaviors of the characters that couldn't be overlooked. This may have been an earlier time, but if a bunch of my classmates were getting murdered, the last thing I'd do is continue going to that school, going to parties, going shopping for prom, etc.. Literally no one cared that the murders were happening. You'd think the police would be involved at some point, but no. It's all treated like a normal Tuesday. You watch a student run into the room covered in blood and screaming her head off, why would you just ignore that? If someone came into the room and started swinging the knife into people, why is no one instantly panicked... and when they finally do start panicking, why would a teacher try to tell everyone to calm down as if it's just a raccoon or something that got in?
The story itself isn't bad if you imagine everyone is actually in hell. A divine punishment for selfish narcissist behavior during life would have explained so much. It brings up possible possession/demons at the end but that doesn't get elaboration. It's just hard to get into when Literally EVERYONE in the book is either really dumb or so desensitized that it's just hard to believe. The motivation for the killings wasn't really believable either. It's not like the person was actually hated, or even being treated differently than anyone else. I've read books from these authors before and was excited for this one. I think I'm just a little disappointed with how rushed and confusing this felt. I know it's short, but a few things could have been added to make it feel less hollow.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I still love these authors and will continue to read their books in the future.
4.75/5 I have been so excited about this erotic horror novella and I am not disappointed! I devoured this and am not entirely sure where time went. This gives me a little 80s slasher combined with Carrie and a little bit of Heathers vibes; it’s like it was made for me! This is a novella so a short a quick read and it felt like I was watching a cult classic.
The gangs all here, the wannabe Prom Queen, the kind you don’t want to cross, her court and her incredibly attractive twin brother. Stacey is not someone who will settle for anything less than what she deserves and has no problem dealing with anything or anyone who gets in her way. Not to mention an unhinged connection with her twin brother Sam (I love me a good taboo moment). Sam is the typical jock. Attractive, charming, and definitely a playboy. They are no longer the new kids in school and now run their kingdom.
It’s me JESSICA! Jessica is the new kid in school, a role with which she is remarkably familiar. She is a loving big sister and just looking to survive the Prom. She has all the black cat energy and doesn’t fit in with the Prom circle. However, she has caught Sam’s eye and finds herself in a social world she never expected trying to find her own way to navigate it.
Nothing will stop a Senior Prom, especially fellow students turning up murdered; streamers need to be hung and posters made.
This novella is great from start to finish. My 80s rocker heart was instantly drawn in by the playlist and chapter titles alone. This is fast paced and keeps the pages turning. The only thing I wish for is more. I would have loved the ending to be a little longer as it felt a bit rushed, highly possible that is completely subjective because I didn’t want the story to end. Last Dance is the second book in the Last Girl series. While it can most definitely be read as a stand-alone it hits differently if you read Last Summer first.
If you love the 80s, hot spice, and are a cult classic, slasher loving reader I definitely recommend this novella. This is an erotic horror. There is NO HEA check your triggers and enjoy the Prom!
For such a short novella, this had my head spinning. There are quite a few characters, but the main plot is that someone is unaliving the prom queen court. The book basically surrounds itself around the new girl Jessica, and how she deals with the new cliques of the high school that she’s now a part of. Jessica seems very laid-back as to where the queen bee, Stacy seems to be very snobby, narcissistic and in love with her brother Sam, her twin.
But Sam is no Angel either he gets around. He gave me a very weird vibe… they both did. For being such a fast read Lo and Luna really keep you wondering what the hell is going on. I had no idea who was unaliving the prom court because there is so much other stuff going on.
Something I picked up on right away was that obviously Stacey has a possessive obsessive relationship with her twin so I figured that would come in to play eventually and without spoilers because this book just released it does. I also thought maybe Trish might have more to do with things like I said there’s so many characters that you’re confused over who’s doing what and that’s the point in the book for everything to come out in the very end.
What I will say is check your trigger warnings. I see some reviews saying people weren’t aware of certain things in the book. The authors put trigger warnings for a reason so check those before you check this book out.
I walked away from this book wondering what the hell I just read in a good way… it kept my interest. I read this book in one night and I’m still trying to figure out what the hell was going on at the very end. But all good things come to those who wait.
So if you’re into Carrie vibes with a little bit of mean girl flare, and a lot of wtf moments check this out it’s a fast read and it’s a fun read.
🖤 𝓽𝓻𝓸𝓹𝓮𝓼🖤 📕nostalgic vibes 📕masked serial killer 📕prom queen 📕bloody fun 📕taboo romance
🖤 𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀🖤 Kick me in all the nostalgic feels! This book is everything Fear Street: Prom Queen should have been! Last Dance takes the Prom cliche and gives us a unique take with a climactic ending you won’t guess. There’s a bit of a taboo relationship between a set of twins that gives a little bit of a Cruel Intentions feel in the mix of chaos but only shakes up the spicy plot between the characters. As the second book in the Final Girl series, Gold and Wicked gives us readers one hell of a thrilling story.
*spoilers*
Jessica is the new girl in town. Still adjusting to life, she starts her first day at her new school with prom approaching shortly. At school, she befriends a cheery girl named Lacey and her extremely attractive boyfriend Sam. In the halls, she lies eyes on a beauty with blue hair before heading to class that gives off a suspicious vibe.
Before prom, she’s invited to a party at Stacy’s house so she can get better adjusted in town. Getting the chance to meet more people, and a little push from Sam who has been flirting with her with his eyes, she agrees to go. But that night starts off a string of vicious murders leading up to prom. It’s not until days prior that Jessica pieces together that someone is killing off the Prom Queen committee. Someone wants to take the crown for themselves.
You get everything in this book. Without spoiling too much, Last Dance gives you the nostalgic early 2000s vibes with cellphones you have to push the same number multiple times to change out the letters, long cord house phones, and tulle dresses that resemble Cyndi Lauper. Two talented authors coming together for a spicy horror novel.
brief summary: Jessica, a senior in high school, just moved to Sunnyvale, a town where things are anything but Sunny. She’s quick to realize this school is just as cliquey as the rest. What she failed to realize is how far others will go to be crowned Prom Queen.
characters: This book is multiple POVs and full of different characters. Due to this and its “quick read”/novella nature, it’s hard to rate characters. They all seemed important to the story though.
review: Ohhhhhh, this was my very first erotic horror and I can tell you it won’t be my last. This novella gave me scream & pretty in pink vibes. This was a fast paced, well written and had me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I figured out who was killing the prom court, another person showed up and made me question everything. However, it’s only 4 stars because I feel like the ending and epilogue made me even more confused on what really happened. BUT that just means I’ll have to reread it!
format: I read this book in e-book format on my Kindle.

This novella completely caught me off guard in the best way. It blends an addictive storyline with bold, steamy moments that are written with confidence and intensity. Even though horror isn’t usually my go-to genre, and this leans into that “spicy horror” space, the darker elements never felt overwhelming. Instead, they added just the right amount of edge to keep things exciting. I ended up flying through it in a single sitting because putting it down simply wasn’t an option.
The story introduces Jessica, who has just relocated to Sunnyvale with her family and is once again forced to start over at a new school. But this place has its own strange obsession—everything revolves around prom. Then there’s Stacey, fiercely protective and unapologetically bold, alongside her twin brother Sam. Their bond is… intense, to say the least, giving off very strong “cross them and you’ll regret it” energy.
I’ll admit, when I realized the book included a blood-related taboo relationship, I was hesitant. It’s not something I typically gravitate toward, but the author handles it in a way that feels intentional within the story. While it definitely pushes boundaries, I still found myself drawn into the narrative.
As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a masked killer targeting their circle, picking them off one by one as prom night creeps closer. The tension builds steadily, and just when it feels like everything is about to fall into place, the story flips your expectations completely.
It may be a short read, but it delivers a surprisingly intense and memorable experience.
Once again, Luna and Lo NEVER miss! Last Dance was a fucking a blast and such a vibe. Last Dance gave me nc17 fear street vibes with that 80s Carrie vibe going on and I was fucking living for every single second of it. I love a book with multiple POVs and I felt like it added to the suspense in the story. It literally felt like you were right in the middle of a slasher movie. Im telling you, a fucking VIBE. Especially reading along with the playlist of each chapter?! So damn good.
The spice was immaculate as always… that arcade scene 🔥And uhhh who doesn’t love a little twincest? 😏 🤭
I genuinely just loved this erotic horror novella. It was honestly just a bloody, spicy, good time. I finished it in one sitting because I just couldn’t get enough. That ending and epilogue though …. 👀👀 This easily will be a book I revisit again and again 👏🏼
Thank you to the authors for a copy for an honest review!
Please read the triggers before reading this!

Honestly I thought I wasn’t going to be really into it but the siblings relationship wasn’t too bad. This is my first erotic horror novella. First taboo. I personally love horror and love 80s time period music, movies etc. So the theme being 80s was very interesting for me. I love how accurate it is. From the hair, music, clothing, and surroundings. I felt I went on a time travel to the 80s!
This novella kept me guessing the whole time who the killer would be. I was obviously wrong in the end and it shocked me who it was.
I enjoyed the main characters in the story. Tommy seemed like he was my own brother. The twins relationship was definitely weird! But I did like their mysterious personalities. I felt bad about Jessica and Tommy’s situation at home and hope it’ll get better for them. The horror/gore was top notch. Felt like I was reading a script for a movie. It was great! I definitely am looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Now have to read the first novella cause I can’t get enough of this.
You know, when you get LO Gold and Luna K. Wicked together, the book is going to be good! This erotic horror is all about unchecked obsession, social hierarchy, teenage angst, and the brutal consequences. As someone who did not go to prom, I had no idea how vicious the pursuit of the prom queen crown would be!
This multi-person POV depicts your traditional high school environment, mirroring some of the best classic slasher films! My favorite! Here we get an up-close, front-row seat to Sunnyvale High, where the football team and aspiring prom royalty rule. Here we are introduced to Jessica, a new student, and her brother.
This novella is packed full of teenagers, ripe for the picking! For example - Stacy. This chick desires absolute control and will have nothing less than the crown. Let's not mention her relationship with her twin brother, Sam.
I love when the story shifts from the social drama of your typical high school to the visceral horror as students begin to turn up dead! GAME ON! Lol. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall at this high school, watching the prom queen candidates being targeted! LOVED IT.
Thanks to LO Gold and Luna K. Wicked for gifting me an eARC of Last Dance. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
"Come on, it'll be dope! S̶e̶x̶, d̶r̶u̶g̶s̶, and wannabe prom queens. What could go wrong?"
💭 it took me about 60% in to get the hang of who is who coz there were many characters. but its all good coz obv they werent the final girls/guys😅 one things for sure... the retro slasher vibe was strong in this book!! the precursor that when someone's about to ☠️ the moment they start to get it on...STAPLE!! everyone knows that!! & that the spice wasSPICIN'🔥 the urge to scream at my kindle for the character to run... was present!! that was the fun part!! then the reveal/epilogue😱 i only have 1 question tho & its about "paul". overall... an entertaining read loaded with 80s nostalgia♥️
Talk about throwing it back! The 80’s vibes were definitely hit! We had our new girl at school, the mean girl, the jock, the outcast, I loved it. There were so many characters that the “who done it” was hidden really well. I was not expecting the plot twist!! And then the hook?! I have to know more immediately. The decapitation by paper cutter sent me into a fit of giggles. I am not sure what that says about me, but I was here for it.
Holy glitter balls… they’ve done it again. Lo Gold and Luna K Wicked
If you loved Last Summer, you’re going to devour Last Dance like it’s spiked prom punch—sweet at first, then suddenly you’re dizzy, screaming, and questioning all your life choices.
We follow Jessica, the new girl who lands in Sunnyvale mid-senior year (worst timing ever), where the entire school is obsessed with prom—specifically who will be crowned king and queen. Jessica couldn’t care less… until candidates start disappearing. And then? Turning up dead.
What follows is a fast-paced, dark, spicy little fever dream packed with: • masked chaos • messy, addictive friendships • seriously unhinged vibes • and a plot twist that completely caught me off guard
It gave me strong Carrie meets Scream energy with a nostalgic 80s slasher feel—but with extra spice and a twisted edge.
For such a short novella, it seriously delivers. I read it in one sitting and had the best time. Just when you think you’ve figured it out… you absolutely haven’t.
Dark, wild, a little feral—and honestly? That ending has me READY for book three.
Highly recommend if you like your horror a little spicy and a lot chaotic.
Thank you for the ARC these are my honest voluntary thoughts.
OH MY GOD LUNA!!! WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME!! SO, LAST DANCE BY LO GOLD & LUNA K WICKED QUITE LITERALLY HAD ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT. I WAS CONSTANTLY PLAYING DETECTIVE THROUGH THE WHOLE BOOK. WHIKE TRYING MY BEST TO FIGURE OUT WHO THE KILLER IS, AND I STILL COULDN’T FIGURE IT OUT UNTIL THE VERY LAST CHAPTER. NOW WITH THAT BEING SAID, I ABSOLUTELY DEVOURED THIS BOOK I SWEAR TO THE BOOK GODS THAT LO & LUNA ARE THE ULTIMATE DYNAMIC DUO WHEN IT COMES TO COWRITING A SERIES. THEY BOTH DID SUCH AN AMAZING JOB. THE 80'S SLASHER/PROM VIBES THAT THIS BOOK HAS ARE JUST EVERYTHING THAT I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW I NEEDED. I MEEN SERIOUSLY WHO DOESN'T LOVE A GOOD WHODUNNIT SLASHER? THE PLOT WAS REALLY GOOD AND THE PLOT TWISTS WERE EVEN BETTER AND NOT PREDICTABLE AT ALL. AND THE EPILOGUE? I DEFINITELY DIDN'T SEE ANY OF IT COMING. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LAST DANCE BY LO GOLD & LUNA K WICKED, ALONG WITH ITS PREDECESSOR, LAST SUMMER. THEY ARE BOTH CONTENT HEAVY SO I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND READING THE CONTENT WARNINGS BEFORE JUMPING IN, UNLESS YOU'RE ALREADY WELL VERSED IN EROTIC HORROR AND CONTENT HEAVY BOOKS AND CHOOSE TO GO IN BLIND LIKE ME LOL EITHER WAY, 10/10 RECOMMEND, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. RUN DON’T WALK!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Last Dance had me in suspense from the very first page and absolutely did NOT let go....also turned on 🫣Jessica is the reluctant new girl with a chip on her shoulder and zero interest in prom politics (same girl!) which makes it deliciously ironic when the whole town's prom court starts dropping like flies around her. Also because of that she gets sucked into prom court 👀
The Carrie vibes are immaculate. If you grew up loving 80s slashers and craved something with that same chaotic, neon-soaked energy but make it spicy..this is your book. The authors nail the aesthetic (And if you know me I'm 100%. No 1,000% all about aesthetics). It genuinely felt like being inside a horror film, and I was cackling and cringing in equal measure.
And the chaos twins? I didn't see them coming. That's all I'll say. The plot twist hit me like a brick to the face and I'm all here for it. Also what is it about twins that hot... Is that just me 🤭
The arcade smut scene alone deserves its own review. Perhaps I'm just a nerd.
