I served drinks to a 6'4" Lycan King from another dimension in my bar. Now he won't stop growling one word at Mate.
I've been dealing with drunk assholes and pushy guys since I was nineteen.
But a Lycan King who pays with gold coins, thinks my TV traps people inside it, and growls at anyone who gets too close to me? I can handle him too.
Kane Aurelius is three hundred years old. Unfairly hot. And dangerous. And obsessed with me like I'm his reason to breathe.
He moves into my apartment. Works shifts at my bar. Nearly shifts in my bar because a person screams.
He starts reading my spicy book collection- and takes notes, Memorizes the best parts. Puts every dirty lesson into practice.
He marks my neck so the world knows I'm claimed. Worships me until I can't think straight. Convinces me I'm his forever.
And then he's gone the next morning.
All that's left is his
"I, Kane Aurelius, King of Ebonvale, reject you as my mate."
But now? My eyes are turning golden. And the pregnancy test in my hand says he doesn't get to just disappear.
When the Lycan King discovers what he left behind? He'll cross worlds to find me, kill to protect me. And beg on his knees for a second chance.
But I'm the one who decides if he deserves it.

3 stars....ya know I found myself laughing at this book more than I thought I would with my past issues with this author. Maybe I related to the bartender life but I enjoyed this plot and characters. One thing I found very unrealistic: The most unrealistic thing about this book as that they found clothes & shoes that FIT A DAMN NEAR 7 FT MALE AT TARGET!!!! I'm here to tell you at that a human at that size-the foot size-would more than likely also be size 14+ which is not something they commonly sell at target. IDK why I find these type of details annoying but I do. It's probably because my husband is a size 14 shoe 😉and run into these issues in real time. Cons: again as is this author's style I guess...this book had a lot of repetition and the book could have been cut by at least 75 pages due to dragging out scenes for word count. The spice took FOREVER and it was almost to the point that I was like THIS is an alpha male? He wasn't dominate in any way in my opinion and that took the spice out of the book quite a lot.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 solid stars 🌶️🌶️ less spice due to the fact it was a constant dragged out "slow burn" that got annoying
Overall: this was a decent read with many funny bits that I appreciated even if it lacked in the spice and dragged on a bit.
It was a well written book. I've read all the books in this series starting with Wen's story.. I really loved the book preceding this one. I really appreciate how different each couple is in this series. This book was okay. It was just lacking in a way that the previous book wasn't. It depicted the male character too primitive in my opinion. The characters and the story was under developed. It's like the author was told the basics of the series but didn't bother to read any of them. The only nod to the previous books was when he found the portal and Wen's journals. All in all it was okay but I will not be following this author and may skip in others Zola might write for this series.
The FMC, much like majority of the FMCs in this series, has the flimsiest conviction ever. Literally, a single puff of air from the MMC and she bends forwards and backwards like a whacky inflatable tube man at a car dealership. Summer’s “cold shoulder” can barely keep a single ice chip from melting. She literally thrives on the chase as obvious by her inner monologues stating her “reluctant” elation whenever groveling ex was around. The characters, like the story, lacked depth and personality.
As in this whole series, we get Alphas that really know their feelings, and act on them. We also get that what is best for one is not always the best coure of action. When a decision needs to be made about safety for all, a discussion should always be had. Not a unilateral decision based on king and court. Women are to be feared as well as protected.
I was really enjoying this one until the abrupt ending. Where was the pushback from the enemy wolves? A final battle of some kind after she gives birth? Come to think of it….Where was her giving birth? Her first shift? Them running together like she saw in her dreams/visions? Them both going back with the baby and explaining everything to her parents, friends, and Mack? Good story, just not enough of it.
Why Rush and not complete what happens to Summer??? So many questions. Did her family know about her wolf heritage? Did she finally shift into her wolf form? Did she speak to her wolf, and what type of attitude her wolf had finally to be awake. Did her friends find out and visit her? Did she have a girl,, boy or even twins? So Disappointing!!!
Theyre adorable. Hes such a dork I love it. The story was good the couple was perfect, he told the council to f off right away . Good couples have eachothers back
