As violence escalates and the cartel tightens its grip, Alejandro is forced to protect Isabella despite insisting she doesn’t belong in his world. If you don't have any pertinent plans for the day, then I suggest you start reading this marvelous romance book right here. Alejandro and Isabella are going to entertain you for several hours, however if you have things to do be prepared to put those things on the backburner because this book just consumed your day reading it. Loved the romance and characters and found that they had a magnetic force to keep your eyes glued to your kindle and fingers turning the pages. Nicolette did a PHENOMENAL job writing this 5/5-star book.
This was a slow burn, but I liked the build up. It ended up being a bit spicy but I also liked it. It was a bit twisty, every time you would think they had gotten away, they ended up being found. I thought maybe there was a mole, but that never came out. It was a little bit repetitive, but war can be a little repetitive. I loved that Alejandro and Isabella ended up with a happy ending! My only question is was Isabella really a reporter or was she working for some other law Enforcement agency?
ARC review: Okay I love the storyline and the characters and that would be 5 stars, but the writting needed some work as there are repetitive lines used everytime the characters have a discussion . It got a little maddening that these two great characters could only say 2 or 3 lines that are the same throughout the book. other than that I loved the book. still recommend it for sure.
This was an interesting story. Alejandro and Isabella are an odd couple at first. He's a mafia ghost and she repeatedly said she used to have a badge, giving the idea that she was a police officer. This isn't a clean book but it isn't particularly spicy either. It'll basically say they were doing the tango but there wasn't any type of description or details given in regards to those scenes.
