I really loved this story, blending the Seattle music scene to the past in unexpected ways. The characters struggles feel real and understandable. I also loved the level of skepticism towards the events and the interesting logic of how Sherry takes on relating the problem in resonance not pseudoscience.
Donny Wickersham inherits a bar in downtown Seattle. Originally a bank in the 1890s, and then a Grunge scene nightclub in the 1990s, it is now a fixer-upper nightmare. While preparing the building for sale Donny is plagued by hallucinations and bad luck…or is it a haunting from a murder victim at the bank in 1893… The main character, Donny, is a very likeable character. I actually found myself concerned about all of the characters, including poor old Soren, which kept me reading. While supernatural fiction is not my usual genre I found this novella to be a very enjoyable, easy read by new author SL Dylan. I highly recommend.
