Eva Kaylee climbed the fire escape, jumping at the wild screech as metal ground against metal, terrified that every sound would betray her. Being on the run was no picnic. After spending the last week hiding, she was starving, cold, paranoid, and nearly numb to the fear that dogged her every waking moment. It might be suicide what she was doing but what choice did she have?
A week ago she’d been going about her life, happy and content, working on her newest art piece for a gallery show in Sherman Oaks, and the next she was running for her life. My, how things change in the blink of an eye.
Eva tested the window and wasn’t surprised to find it unlocked. Anyone who had the misfortune of climbing through this window uninvited likely wouldn’t live to talk about it — including herself. But she was out of options and just desperate enough to do something incredibly reckless…and stupid.
Just as she managed to put one leg over the sash, she yelped as she was yanked inside and thrown to the floor. She rolled to her feet in an instant, her fingers splayed in submission as she begged for a chance to explain. “Please don’t kill me! I need your help!”
“Who are you?”
His voice, thick with a growl, made her shiver with real fear. Elijah Kane was no ordinary man — he was Wolvryn, descended from pack leaders and a captain with the L.A. SWAT team. He could rip her to shreds and arrest her. She recognized the sound of a partial shift. His fangs were probably cutting into his bottom lip, sending a rivulet of blood down his chin while black-tipped claws curved into vicious killing implements. She’d seen what claws like that could do to human flesh. So much blood. He flipped the light, momentarily blinding her and she backed against the wall, stunned by how massive he was. Impossibly tall, probably about six foot, five inches, a solid two hundred and eighty pounds of pure muscle, with ebony hair that dusted his shoulders and moss green eyes that narrowed with suspicion as he awaited her answer — he was both beautiful and terrifying. And nearly naked.
“M-my name is Eva…Eva Kaylee. I-“ She stopped as he abruptly sniffed the air, everything about him tense. He strode to her, coming within inches, crowding her personal space and causing her to shake. “W-what are you doing?” she dared to ask when he wouldn’t back away. “Please…you’re scaring me.”
“What are you?” he asked, ignoring her plea. “I smell human…but not human.

Boom!
Now this is an original shifter series! Seriously, from page one I was gripped and I got stuff to do around the house. The whole story has fantastic characters that pop from the page, and a unique storyline that keeps you guessing from page one. Kinsey has a talent for jumping right into play and instantly getting you wrapped up into the characters. I love and hate Elijah with a passion but he is written so perfectly as a male. And he literally thinks like a proper man! It reads like a man is writing a man not like a woman is trying too hard to write a man. Kudos for that because all the dirty make talk read so smooth and I smirked constantly because I love a proper stubborn man. And boy is he alpha. I already went and bought the omnibus set because like heck am I going to not read the rest of this series!

This is the first time in reading this author and the storyline is what drew me to it. Enjoying paranormal romance as I do I also liked it would have the main man being in a uniform. This is a quick read that is the beginning of three parts. Two sisters that can't but have it in their bloodline to shift and the one that is asked for help can but hides it. I do so like irony in a story too. The direction of the story is very clear and to the point and this contains the basis of what promises to be a intriguing story. Throw in a prophecy with heat of romance in this modern day setting and it will have you hooked. Received a copy for a honest review.

This is the very first time I've had the pleasure of reading Kinsey McClane's
work. I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised. With it being a shifter, a wolf and sexiness both male a female with a good dose of sass.
A short little read, about a hour for me and a cliffy be warned. Even as a short I did wish it was a bit longer to give more insight on the characters. That being said her other book is just around the corner... that makes up for the cliff hanger. (smiles)
Eva and Erie are twin half breeds, that has been raised mostly human, all they’ve known about their animal side has been pain and suffering. Eva was pretty happy in her own little world forgetting her wolvryn side then her world is turned upside down...her sister kidnapped and she is on the run for her life.
Elijah is a Wolvryn shifter pure blood... growls and stomps around when Eva thrusts herself in his life asking for help. When he scents her automatically knows she is a half breed, being a cop and head of SWAT he really doesn't have time for the complications he knows Eva will be.
I realize the situation Eva is in.. yeah even her past but damn if I didn't want to shake her until her teeth rattled. She lets Elijah know in no uncertain terms what she thinks about her Wolvryn side and Elijah well he wasn't actually jumping for joying being around the curvy smell good half human.
The Gods have jokes.. now I just need the next book... grab it .. read it … enjoy it.

WHEW! What a great start!!! 5 stars
I will be honest and say that I am not a fan of serials, but this one has me re-thinking that!!! I might just have to change my mind! In fact I think that this is the first serial that I have had to read & review! And you never forget your first, right?! So now this is even MORE special! Even though this part is only about 30 pages long it sure doesn’t feel that short. There is a great start to the story that has you jumping right in. You get to meet the characters, get a feel for them and while this story moves forward there is also enough of the history and background information given to enhance the story without weighing you down or confusing the situation. You also get enough of a hint at the deeper storyline to whet your whistle (and other parts!) and make you want to know more about the people, the situation, the mystery and…well EVERYTHING!!!! This is all mixed together in such a way and does exactly what it is meant to do – make you crave to read the rest of the story to get the answers to all of the questions this part made you think of! I definitely love Kinsey’s writing style! There is this intensity in the storyline and this sense of realness that she brings to the characters, that makes me want to read and read and read….I hope that she continues to write these awesomely sexy Paranormal stories because there will NEVER be too many of them!!!! Buy it today and see what you have been missing!

I find that lately I'm liking these short stories more and more and it's because of stories like this. The author started this series in such an appealing and intriguing manner that I want to keep on reading it. There is a taste of what is to come, lots of action, passion and love.
Eva and her twin Erie are half breeds, orphaned at 5 and shunned by their Wolvryn half, they were raised by humans and have no idea of what it's like to be a wolf, or their ways. They only remember the horrible things they endured as children, the atrocities their Wolvryn father put their human mother through.
Now Erie has been kidnapped by demented Wolvryn Decklin and he is also after her. Eva is on the run and seeks out the one man she knows can help her get her sister back, Decklin's twin Elijah.
Elijah is one of the good guys, but after breaking into his apt, Eva has second thoughts about that. What is going on, Eva has no idea, but Elijah does and he won't tell Eva and he doesn't want to accept it himself.
What is it that Decklin wants with the twins, why are these half breeds so special?
This a very gripping story that promises to get heavy. Great start to a great series!

i usually don't read serials because i prefer to read the whole thing and not have to wait or have cliffhangers. However when i was asked to read this one in exchange for an honest review i agreed. i can't hardly wait for the next book *already out and on my TBBN list*. LOL!
i loved this book. it had all of the elements that i look for in a great love story/urban fantasy/paranormal. the characters were intriguing and had depth and drew me into the story effortlessly.
i found my self becoming angry,sad,happy and all the other emotions right along with the hero and heroine. i am already planning to read it again just in case i missed anything and i can't WAIT for the next installment in the series so i can find out what happens with them next not to mention the heroine sister that has her own story to tell.
thanks Kinsey the story was wonderful,suspenseful cliffhanger!On to chapter 2! LOL!

I was gifted all 3 parts of this book by author Kinsey McClane for an honest review. This is the first time reading this author and the storyline is what I really like about this book. You get wolf shifters, half breeds who can't shift. and crazy witches. Eva and Erie are twin half breeds, that has been raised mostly human, all they’ve known about their animal side has been pain and death. Elijah is a Wolvryn shifter pure blood... who isn't thrilled when she ask for his help when Erie is kidnapped by Elijah's twin brother. There is drama, suspense and hot sex. Turns out Eva and Elijah are pair bond and neither are happy about it. The sister are really close and Eva will do whatever it takes to save her. SPOILER....
It gets dark and a questionable rape scene between Decklin and Erie. Apparently they are pair bonded too, but Decklin is a crazy nut and so it still bothered me to read this part of the book

I am really too impatient to thoroughly embrace a serial read – one part at a time! That said, this book is the perfect hook for someone like me.
It grabbed me from the first page and kept my interest through to the last page … where I promptly cried out “oh hell”! There was no more! I will have to wait for the next installment! Well, darn!
All of that said, this was a very well written lead-in to a wonderful trilogy. Right from the beginning the sparks are there for two of the main characters, you get a sense of the very different & difficult natures of Elijah & Eva, and a prophecy which plays a pivotal element in the story is discussed. In a very short time there is action & mystery. And the end leaves you wondering about the other twin of each set … how are their encounters going? I don’t think Part 2 can get here quick enough.

Wow! Barely into the storyline and I'm already sucked in! The Sparks are gonna fly with all that heat between Elijah and Eva! Eva, half human/half wolvryn, is on the run from the men who kidnapped her sister. Time is running out and she needs help. She turns to the only person she can think of to stop his evil brother, Elijah. Eva hates her wolvryn half and refuses to embrace it. Unfortunately for her, Elijah is all wolvryn. Worst yet, she's his mate and neither are happy about it. Declan, Elijah's evil brother, thinks Eva and her sister Erie are the key to the prophecy. So, where are we? Hanging on the cliff with Erie captured and a hot kiss between Eva and Elijah!!! Hang on its gonna be a bumpy ride!!!

OK! First things first...Cliffhanger! Be prepared to be left hanging. Other than that, I truly enjoyed this book. The plot has got oomph and carries you into a world of the paranormal. As the plot thickens, we discover the main characters, of which we find a lot of good and a lot of evil.
This episode concentrates mostly on Eva and Elijah. As fate brings them together, we get to watch their relationship start to develop. They are vibrant and full of emotions so strong, you can almost feel the currents between them.
Kinsey McClane has taken the characters and given them life. Now all we have to do is be patient and wait for the continuation of their story. I hope it comes soon.

This was a well written exciting storyline filled with magic, mystery , deception, bigotry and a world ending prophecy. The main characters were strong and stubborn and provided amusement even when the situation was dire. Elijah Kane is a Wolvryn living in the human world and working as a police officer. Eva Kaylee is a half breed who needs Elijah's help to rescue her sister Erie from Elijah's brother Declan. Each character has their own demons to fight and not everyone's motivation is quite as cut and dry as they say. The lust for power, the strength of the mate pull and the pending completion of the prophecy seems to make everyone a little crazy. A great read that pulls you in right from page number 1. I look forward to see what happens in book number 2.

This book had me from the start. I love it when books start of with a mystery that has to be solved.
This book will suck you in and keep you wanting more. I can't wait for the next installment to come out.

Uh-oh, it looks as if I'm about to become addicted to yet another series. This is the beginning of of alpha shifter trilogy. And I'm already falling for one Mr. Elijah Kane. I also like the fact the main character's , Elijah and Eva don't fall right into love. They're both stubborn and I can't wait to find out which one caves first. And course the perilous danger that Erie(the twin sister) is in has you hoping and praying that she is saved in time. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Great job, there is action, drama & mystery in a short time and then leaves you wondering about the sparks form Eva and Elijah. How long can Elijah keep away from Eva. Looking forward to finding out what happens to Erie and Eva, but hated Declan from the start. I'm very curious about this Janus Circle Prophecy. Can't wait for part 2.

This is my very first Paranormal read and I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. I didn't know what to expect so I was very skeptical and went into this book with caution. I found all of that to be unnecessary from the beginning of the book. This was hooked from the first page and didn't want the book to end.
I found Elijah and Eva's characters to be very likeable and the storyline to be great to follow. Love and Mystery, Romance and Action. I found this book to be a great read. Can't wait for the second book.

This book was a great quick read.
This story about the Wolvryn Clan and half-bloods and how they can seem to co-exist but forget about the other until it is time for some prophecy to be fulfilled.
Eva finds herself in trouble and climbs in a window that changes her life.
When Elijah comes across Eva he realises that she is his mate and he will do anything to convince her as this is the only way to save her life and her sisters.
The story sucks you in and before you know it is over and it has you waiting on the next one.

Caught my attention immediately
Twin Wolvryn brothers and twin half breed sisters who can't shift with mate bond. That by itself was compelling.
This first book showed the main characters and how they were dealing with the Janus Circle prophesy issue and the attraction that was beginning to manifest. Elijah and Eva had a good chemistry and their interaction was hot. Erin and Decklin were something completely different. I'll
go and get the next part immediately because I'm very intrigued.

If you are a fan of dark, shifter/paranormal romance with some graphic violence and hot-sizzling sex, then this book is just what you've been looking for. Blood Moon Rising: The Omnibus by Kinsey McClane will keep you captivated, intrigued, consumed, and mystified. This book grabs you at the cover and holds onto you until the very end and even then you are begging for more. The characters are great, the setting is good and the writing was easy to read. My only complaint is having to wait for the next book to come out.

I wish there was a love scene in this book. Elijah's thoughts/fantasies about Eva are a good substitute, but I wish there was a liiiitle bit more. But I will definitely be waiting and reading book 2!

Ok.. so I really enjoyed this story. It is a very good beginning to a story. A bit off in some places for me.. like I got confused but then as I kept reading it made sense. I loved the characters and cannot wait to see what happens. I hope the sisters embrace who they are and their mates and I need to know if the brother is the sister's mate.. I can't wait to read the next one.
