Something Like Love is my favorite installment in this series so far. As Mia would say… shit is about to get real! It picks up immediately where book two leaves off. I’ve been dying to find out what has happened with Mia and Quinn. Some secrets were revealed, some bombs were dropped, and after the ending of this book- you are once again left dying to get to the next one!
I thought coming here would answer all the questions of my past. But it has done the opposite. I am now plagued with so many questions, ones I’m afraid may never be answered.

Mia is out to get her questions answered. And there is only one person who can do that for her. Mia is also out for revenge. She’s out for blood. She knows that the people in her life she’s sworn to protect won’t be safe until the threats are eliminated. But it’s not easy. Mia has a lot going on. Rekindling some familial relationships, being the run, keeping her friendships with the people most important to her, and then there is Quinn. Quinn and his secrets. Quinn who has stood beside her no matter what. I just love Mia and I love Quinn.

Mia Lee is the epitome of a bad ass heroine. She is tough, strong, brave, but on top of all that, she has heart. Mia would do anything for those she loves. The few people in her life that she considers family, she would sacrifice anything to keep them safe. Quinn Berkley. He has the piercings, the rough exterior and the damaged past, but this boy has a heart of gold. I just adore Quinn. I love his devotion to Mia, his strength and determination.
Quinn Berkley is beautiful, inside and out. He’s shown me how to live, and through his strength, I have never felt so alive.

What I love most about the Something Like Normal series is they are fast paced books you won’t want to put down. You never know whats going to happen when you turn the next page. It’s not just a love story or a suspense story or even a story of friendship and self discovery, but it’s a great mix of all of the above. I love the main characters and their journey of finding themselves, finding love, and just finding a way to survive. I can’t wait to see where the next and final book takes Mia and Quinn!

“Like what?” I whisper so softly, I’m afraid he may not have heard me. But his reply lets me know that he’s heard me, loud and clear.

“Like love. Because this… with you, it feels… something like love.”

“Quinn Berkley is beautiful, inside and out. He’s shown me how to live, and through his strength, I have never felt so alive.”

Something like Love by Monica James is the third book in her Something like Normal series and it picks up right where book two, Something like Redemption left off. After the way the previous book ended I was really anxious to get my hands on this one and once again, the author did not disappoint. Just like with the first the parts of this series, I was fully engrossed in Mia and Quinn's story and I simply could not put this book down. I was just that curious to find out what would happen next and how the story would end.

Mia's journey has been not been an easy one so far. It was filled with many ups and downs and bumps along the way and Quinn has been there for a large part of it, which is just one of the many reasons why I love his character so much. Quinn is the one who's always there to support her and help her through, but her past has made it difficult for Mia to trust people and fully let them into her life. And then there's also the fact that Quinn has a secret of this own. They both keep their hearts guarded and that's been the reason why, up until this point in the story, they've both been hesitant to define what's between them as love.

But that's exactly what it is. And maybe it's even more than "just" love. Either way, they both have to find a way to overcome their past and move on towards a bright future, preferably together. I will not go into much details about the plot, but I will say that most of the story revolves around Mia uncovering secrets from her past. She's finally confronted with her mother and the reason behind why she left her behind all those years ago. And most of the secrets she uncovers leave her shocked with their unexpected outcome.

Overall, I really enjoyed the third part of the series. It was once again a beautiful, heart wrenching and unforgettable story with many twists and turns that will keep you hooked the entire you're reading it. If you haven't read Something like Normal and Something like Redemption, the first two books in this series, I would highly recommend giving them a try first because Mia and Quinn's story is one that you don't want to miss and it will undoubtedly stay with you. At least, that's what it did with me. And after the way this book ended, all I can say is that I will be (not so) patiently awaiting the release of book 4! ;)

“Hope to live. I hope to live, Red. With you. After this is over. I hope to live a boring life with you.”

Mia and Quinn's story continues in Something Like Love, picking up Redemption left off. This installment of the series is emotionally taxing as Mia comes face-to-face with the mother who left her and the sister she didn't know existed. However, not only is Mia uncovering answers about her past and coming to grips with her abandonment, she's also navigating the progression of her relationship with Quinn, all while constantly looking over her shoulder for her father and the authorities.

I continued to struggle with Mia's behavior and Quinn's willingness to overlook her outbursts. Certainly, her feelings are warranted. With all that she's been through, I would like to see her display a bit more maturity. All that said, I do think this one ties the first with my favorite of the series so far. I'm really enjoying the suspense of the series and am looking forward to how this next book plays out after the bombshell at the end of SLL.

Love cannot save you from your own fate. -Jim Morrison

Something that you don't know about me is that I hate reading series with the same heroes for many books... but somehow, Monica James with this series is working very well for me...
Slowly but steadily things are changing, secrets are revealing and our heroes are closer to the end...
Will it be a good ending or bitter one??? Who knows???
The only sure thing is that Mia and Quinn have stolen my heart and their adventure is making my heart beat wildly.

"For a while, it was nice to pretend I was normal. But who am I kidding?
I'll never be normal, and I was naive to think I ever could be."

Mia and Quinn are still on the run, but in here, they are taking a small breath from watching always behind their backs... But the people that are after them won't stop chasing them, so they are running out of time...
Mia needs answers from a mother that left her in a life that wasn't for a child, and at the same time she is seeking revenge from the people who destroyed her innocence...
Beside her is standing Quinn, a man who had proved himself over and over again... But what will happen when Quinn's secret will be revealed???

"Before you, I only ever wanted to exist in the darkness. But now, you are the light in my forever darkness."

I am enjoying this wild ride alongside Mia and Quinn very much and I love the additions that are coming in every part...
Mia and Quinn are fitting perfectly together, but nothing is clear between them...
The secrets are baring them down and their doubts are biting them in their backsides...
And then, this ending came and it brought everything upside down...
Now, I am left swimming in agony of how the things will turn out in the next book!!

"With you, Red... this feels like it."
"Like what?"
"Like love. Because this... with you, it feels... something like love."

I adore Monica James and her writing. When I first started this series I was really excited. I loved the story line and I loved Mia. She was young and broken but also so strong and determined. The addition of brothers Quinn and Tristan added another level of excitement. The first book in the series Something Like Normal was great. It had lots of intrigue, action, a building romance and a great cliffhanger at the end. I was really looking forward to the second book, Something Like Redemption, but sadly the same excitement wasn't there. It slowed down a bit for me. Mia was no longer the strong young woman I admired. She contently doubted herself and her feelings for Quinn. The story didn't seem to move forward and certain parts felt a bit forced but it was still enjoyable enough to keep going with the series.

In this third installment Mia and Quinn have finally made it to Canada and have found Mia's mother. However what Mia thought would be an opportunity to finally get some answers was anything but. Mia is going through a lot of emotional ups and downs in the book but Quinn is right by her side for support. I really did enjoy their growing relationship. I also thought the relationship between Mia and her mother was done well. The book however ends again in a cliffhanger. While I loved the cliffy in book one I think this series would have been done really well in just three books. With that being said I will still read the fourth installment just so I can finally see Mia's story conclude.

Something Like Love (Something Like Normal #3) by Monica James
3.5 stars!!

“Quinn Berkley is beautiful, inside and out. He’s shown me how to live, and through his strength, I have never felt so alive.”

This book continues where Something Like Redemption left off with Mia and Quinn still on the run making their way to Canada to try and find Mia’s mum. Therefore if you are new to this series please make sure that you read Something Like Normal and Something Like Redemption first.

Mia wants answers from her mum, she feels that knowing the truth could maybe heal the hurt that she feels and give her closure on that part of her life, plus being with her mum is probably the least likely place her father would think to find her. On first meeting Mia only has more questions and more heart break, was this really such a good idea?

As always Quinn is there for Mia, he is her stability and always seems to know exactly what she needs. He is the most patient man on the planet when it comes to Mia and her attitude and break downs but he takes it all in his stride and is there for her comfort, for her anger and for her tears.

“You are ingrained into every fiber of my body, and I’m drowning.”

I have always had a soft spot for Quinn and I was glad that we were finally told just what secrets he was hiding. While to the reader and for me in particular the secret is not that bad, Quinn feels the constant burden of guilt and struggles with it every day. His loyalty and love for his brother keeps his sanity together and with Mia depending on him more and more he finally has a real sense of purpose and I could only hope that this was enough for Quinn to realise just how special he was. He was beautiful on the inside and out and was totally deserving, now we just had to wait for him to have his lightbulb moment and realise this for himself.

“…he presses his hand to my heart. “I want to possess. I want to own, but I don’t deserve you. I never have.”

The constant push and pull between Mia and Quinn was at times annoying as well as intoxicating. These two are such a good fit together but both have their issues and seem intent on not letting themselves give in to their mutual attraction. I was egging them on throughout the book to finally take that leap, to get rid of that sexual tension and let themselves love, but as soon as you thought it was going to happen, one of them pulled back, it was infuriating, but all added to build up for when and if “the deed” occurred.

There is a lot going on in this book, especially from the middle to end and at times I felt it was a bit too much. However, it really keeps you guessing and the intrigue and suspense just builds and builds and builds and you know that when that crescendo is hit it is going to be explosive. What would the consequences be? Would there be casualties? Who would ultimately pay the price? Would justice be served? Would their time on the run come to an end? I was forever trying to work out where this was going and I was not successful, but I was left on the edge of my seat throughout.

We are introduced to some new characters that led to some emotional and some funny scenes and I cannot wait to see how this dynamic is going to progress going forward. I cannot wait to see where Mia and Quinn end up, if any couple deserve a HEA it is these two, after everything they have been through surely they deserve it? How will this end? Will Mia and Quinn be believed? Will they encounter problems from their time on the run? While a lot of questions have been answered, I still have more and I will be anxiously awaiting the next book.

“You’ve got your head so far up your ass, reality has been replaced by your self-absorbed, narcissistic fantasy world, where you think the universe revolves around you. Well, news flash, sister: you need a reality check because shit is about to get real!”

I am just going to put this out there… Monica James is my hero. This series is one that you don’t want to miss. If you haven’t met Mia and Quinn, you will want to. This is an explosive series that just keeps you on your toes from the very first page of the very first book.

Now, with the third book, I am completely left in awe by the writing and story that Monica James has told. It is gripping, endearing and moving, but one thing it is not is a sweet simple story. This book is full of action adventure and love. When I finished Something Like Love I was stunned into silence. It took me a good four hours to calm my thumping heart and reel it in long enough to sit down and write a review. It IS that amazing!

Mia and Quinn are in Canada and after her initial meeting with her mom didn’t go so well, Mia was a bit confused as the refuge she sought turned into a storm that would not be quieted. Everywhere she turned something was happening and it wasn’t getting easier, in fact, everything was getting more and more complicated.

Still waiting for the moment that Mia and Quinn could return to normal, Mia is faced with new troubles and fears. Everything she thought she knew was a lie and everyone from her past was an issue in some way. But throw in a snotty teenage half sister, and all bets are off where Mia’s sanity is concerned.

The only thing that has kept her grounded during this entire journey has been Quinn. There is no one like him and he can calm her with just a simple touch. But when his brother suddenly shows up because it was inevitable that he would, the dynamics of all of these relationships change. But it is not just having Quinn’s brother around, it is that they have caught up to her again.

Will Mia ever have a normal kind of life, or will accepting the hand she has been dealt be all that she can ever hope for?

My heart broke for nearly everyone involved in this story. This is one tangled web that has been woven in front of Mia’s eyes. The only thing that holds her together after each crap shoot is the love she finds in Quinn.

This book just really got to me. I would have thought after Something Like Normal and Something Like Redemption that Mia would finally get something like freedom somewhere in the middle of all the chaos. But what Mia gets instead is an overwhelming sense of love. Not just that of Quinn either. It is a touching and moving story. It is more than just Mia and Quinn. There are more players involved now and everyone wants to keep her safe from her past. But sometimes the past has a funny way of skewing everything we know.

From the beginning, I had no idea what to expect. What I found was faith in family, friends and love. But more it was the belief in a happily ever after. It was the faith that people can change, people are not who they seem to be and love has never felt better.

This book, this series, has just left me in awe of the writing of Monica James and I know I don’t have a very long list of must read authors, but she has certainly found her way to one of the top spots on this list.

This book is powerful, beautiful, a bit terrifying and I was so sad when I hit the end of the book. I wasn’t ready for it to be over so soon.

If you have not read Something like Normal and Something like Redemption you need to first stop reading this and go read both of those books PRONTO as this is NOT a standalone.

Something Like Love picks up right where “Redemption” left off. Mia’s journey to figure out her past lies in the hands of one person, the person that destroyed her life by leaving her. It is this life, the one she left behind that also shaped Mia into a strong woman that I am convinced can survive pretty much any emotional or physical thing thrown at her.
Mia thought getting answers about her past would set her free. Now knowing the harsh truth, Mia feels she is being pushed to her mental limit and she questions the person she is becoming. The person hell bent on revenge.
The one thing keeping her grounded is Quinn. Quinn is holding her together by a thread, but this is a thread that cannot be broken. They are bound by love, a love they are both terrified of. Mia has never felt love and Quinn feels he is undeserving of it. The emotional connection between these two can be felt in every word, in every nickname and in every action.

We get to touch base with some characters, but I cannot go into this without blowing this book wide open. Just know secrets are revealed, connections are made, feelings are hurt and this is before it really hits the fan. I was on the edge of my seat the entire book waiting for the other shoe to drop, but woven in with the anxiety attack I was having is a delicious slice of romance. One that keeps getting stronger despite everything working against them, Mia & Quinn will break your heart, make it race and then melt it.

“I won't be able to stop. I'm addicted to Quinn, but after tonight, I'm a full blown junkie, waiting for my next fix.”
I hear you Mia! That is how I feel about this series. It is something like…perfection.

So this one I'm conflicted about my feelings with, but only because this trilogy is turning into a quad, and it's frying my head. A trilogy is bad enough to me because I'm impatient, and my memory is terrible ... but 4 books!! Dear Lord, I mean I get but lordyyyy.

OK, Quinn and Mia are toxic but trying to grow amongst the chaos. Its actually so heartbreaking that neither of them can catch a break. The only good thing about the crazy is the fact they get to be with one another, which also leads to them allowing that vulnerability to creep through. The way they open up is exceptional and heartwrenching all at once. I definitely feel like we get to see a more mature side to them. That is not to say they didn't both have their moments of stupidity. However, they weren't unjust in the moment either.

Both of their journies broke me a little. The way Mia keeps getting knocked from all sides. The damn girl can't catch a break.
The way Quinn opens up about his past trauma, the guilt.. that poor boy.

It's a crazy chaotic journey with all the feels. I do feel like it would have been impossible to achieve the detail this book had and to have wrapped it up here without it being way too rushed. That being said.. I also hope the next is the last and they get their HEA. They deserve it. I'm also curious to see what comes with Tristan. Especially after the unexpected revelation.

Monica is exceptional at writing the gritty and raw and making you feel all the cuts. Oh, and boy, she did thay and then some.
But it's not all heartbreak. There are moments of laughter. Times of sweet and some real saucy shenanigans to keep you entertained, too.

Last we saw Quinn and Mia they were on the run. They were headed to Canada hoping to clear their names. Mia was conflicted whether she should see her mother or not.

Poor Mia and Quinn they just couldn't  catch a break. Their love gets stronger as they go by day by day. I'm hoping for the next book. I need to know what happens to all of them. Definitely wish there will be a series on Tristan.

REVIEW: 3.5 stars--SOMETHING LIKE LOVE is the third installment in Monica James’s contemporary, new adult, Something Like Normal series focusing on Mia Lee and Quinn Berkeley. Because SOMETHING LIKE LOVE is the continuing story of Mia and Quinn, it should NOT be read as a stand alone; there is too much information revealed in the previous two storylines. This is NOT the final installment-Something Like Love ends on a frustrating cliffhanger.

Told from first person point of view (Mia) SOMETHING LIKE LOVE follows Quinn and Mia on their escape into Alberta, Canada. Still on the run while the people back home struggle to prove their innocence for a murder they did not commit, Quinn and Mia find an uneasy truce with Mia’s mother-a woman who abandoned Mia at three years old. While Mia struggles with the truth about her early childhood, Quinn reveals his deepest darkest secrets-ones that parallel some of Mia’s earlier years about family, abandonment and neglect.

The relationship between Mia and Quinn becomes sexual. There is no denying they have been attracted to one another since they met, but Quinn’s brother Tristan has always had eyes on the woman his brother loves. There is a slight love triangle formula that continues throughout the storyline one that will pit brother against brother for the love of a woman whose life has spiraled out of control.

SOMETHING LIKE LOVE is a graphically violent, angst filled and disturbing storyline about dysfunctional families, abuse and the law. There are some questionable plot points especially Mia’s actions and choices, which are completely distressing and difficult to understand. A debt must be paid and Mia is willing to sacrifice herself for everyone involved. She will place everyone in danger in the belief she is protecting the others from further harm. There are also continuing issues of jealousy; anger control; and the need to run as her psychotic father is always one step behind at every stop.

The world building continues as our couple face insurmountable problems on the run. Mia and Quinn find themselves in difficult situations that placed them in danger-time and again. Mia’s temper and immaturity in certain matters, threatens not only her relationship with Quinn but with her ability to survive on the run. She is a one woman wrecking ball who has little faith in mankind because of the dark and destructive life she has lead.

I did have some issues with the author’s misinformation regarding the Canadian provinces, cities, and the reality of border crossing but these could have been alleviated with some research. I am Canadian after all… ;)

Monica James pulls the reader into a modern day story of Bonnie and Clyde. Two young lovers on the run from their pasts, their presents and the demons that continue to destroy their hopes and their dreams. SOMETHING LIKE LOVE is passionate, intense, alarming and dark. There are moments of emotional turmoil and passionate bliss followed by the painful realization that everything could in in a heartbeat or two. Let’s hope that our couple survive and their story doesn’t end like Bonnie and Clyde’s.

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Nothing prepared me for the third installment of this series. Nothing. Something Like Love went places I never imagined. I felt every emotion of all the characters. Every single one of them. This brilliant, passionate, and heartbreaking story continues to be one of my favorites of this author.

“Hope to live. I hope to live, Red. With you. After this is over. I hope to live a boring life with you.”

Something Like Love picks up where book 2, Something Like Redemption left off. Mia and Quinn are face to face with the one person that could have saved Mia and turned her back, Mia’s mother. She soon learns that her mother has her reasons and years later is completely heart broken over the choice she made to leave Mia. As always, Quinn is there every step of the way. We learn more about Quinn and his reasons for guarding his heart. Can they learn to live, love, and perhaps even heal?

“Quinn Berkley is beautiful, inside and out. He’s shown me how to live, and through his strength, I have never felt so alive.”

So much happens in the third installment that my words nor my review can do it justice. If you loved the first two books, you will become absolutely emotionally invested in this story , their journey, and these characters even more. Monica’s true talent of weaving together romance and suspense truly shines in Something Like Love. You will find that you are in the story, rather than reading it. Danger has followed Mia and Quinn for much of their journey, and believe me. It is far from over. I will not go into much detail regarding the plot as you will need to simply experience it. Their story is to be lived through to understand the depths of their love through all the darkness.

“You are ingrained into every fiber of my body, and I’m drowning.”

Something Like Love takes the entire series to a whole different level. As a reader you are completely immersed into Mia and Quinn’s story, even more than before. Mia comes face to face with her past and it breaks her. This strong girl is absolutely heart broken over what her parents have done to her. She holds on to Quinn. The boy she loves so much, but is afraid to say out loud. Until now. Secrets are revealed, hearts are broken and mended, and even darkness comes to light.

“God knows I don’t deserve your love, but I want it...so very much.”

To watch someone fall in love is one thing, but this journey that Mia and Quinn have embarked on is so much more than that. You are not a simple bystander in their story. You FEEL them fall irrevocably for the other. You see a broken girl, Mia that has never been loved wanting to love more than anything. And you see Quinn, someone who feels the most undeserving of love, wanting nothing more than to be loved. You understand why the word love hasn’t been shared between them up until this point. To put simply I am not sure that what they feel can be described by any words. Their desire for the other surpasses love. Their love is powerful, it goes into the darkness. Their love is light. Mia and Quinn’s story truly demonstrates the power in accepting the love you deserve.

“What’s in here.” and he presses his hand to my heart. “I want to possess. I want to own, but I don’t deserve you. I never have.”

My heart is still not over this book an entire week later as I write this review. I am so happy that their story isn’t over. The ending of Something Like Love had me gripping my kindle. As the story unfolds, truths are revealed and you will be on the edge of your seat the entire time. Well done, Ms. James. I am counting down until the next book in the series.

That was me sitting on my couch in shock after reading this book. Monica James is literally going to give me a heart attack with this series and I FREAKIN LOVE HER for it HAHA!!

Oh boy, I don't even know where to start. I am going to stay away from spoilers as the twists in the book are just bloody crazy and will leave you with your aching heart ripped out of your chest and your mind spinning around in circles.

Book 2 Something Like Redemption left us with Mia finally meeting the one person that she has been looking for her whole life, the one person who can finally provide her with the truth. Her mother, also the one person that Mia can't forgive because she is the one that abandoned Mia when she needed her the most and left her to fend for herself with her horrible maniacal father.

As truths come to the surface Mia has to decide whether the sins of the past can be laid to rest and if she can truly forgive her mother and move on to something that feels normal, something that feels like Love. Her relationship with Quinn is also heating up and after a heartbreaking revelation from the one person she trusts most, Mia will have to decide if she is truly ready to follow her heart. This book focuses a lot on Mia's relationship with her mom and trying to not only face the truth but also heals the wounds it has left in its wake. It also further develops Quinn and Mia's relationship, their devotion to each other and their acceptance of their feelings.

BUT WAIT there's more because Quinn and Mia are still on the run from both her Father and Phil, with the stakes high and the family she has grown to love at risk, Mia will have to pay the ultimate sacrifice to save the ones she loves.

AHHHHHHH, this book is crazy good!!! I think at some points I might have been clutching my Kindle or holding my breath in anticipation waiting to see what would happen next. The relationship with Quinn and Mia is so intense. Their desire, passion and loyalty to each other runs so deep you can feel it in in your bones. Your heart will be break in this story, then it will heal, and then it will beat like never before.

Monica James is amazing, she makes your heart bleed for her characters, you feel their pain, their compassion, their anger and their fear. She places her characters in these excruciating and pivotal situations and as a reader you can't help but become utterly invested and consumed by each one of their stories. Quinn will make you melt, Tristan will make you cry and Mia will make you want to survive it all.

There is so much I want to say but can't because I don't want to ruin it for anyone. This series is a must read and I think this is my favorite book in the series so far. I can't not even imagine what Monica James has in store for the next installment and I cannot wait to read more of this story!!

5 HUGE Stars!!!
(Wish I could give it a billion!)
Holy crap! Words cannot express how I feel after reading this book.
I don't think my emotions have ever been on such a crazy ride as they were while reading this story. Hell, this entire series has been one hell of a trip, and after three books I feel as if we have only just begun.

There was such emotional intensity that I don't think I will ever be the same after having read this. Mia and Quinn really did a number on me. Something Like Love was a fast paced, action packed, intense roller coaster ride that will leave your head spinning, heart racing, and your mind needing MORE!

Picking up where Something Like Normal left off, Mia comes face to face with her mother who abandoned her at the age of three, and her bitchy sister she didn't even know she had. Mia is searching for answers to her past, but the more she learns, the more she wishes she hadn't.

Mia and Quinn's relationship steps it up in this book. Feelings are finally admitted and things are revealed to each other about their pasts.

"If I was going to overdose on something sweet, I would much rather eat you."

We FINALLY get to learn things which we were questioning about Quinn's past and you soon learn to realize that Quinn is more broken that you originally thought. I wanted so badly for Mia and Quinn to catch a break, but every dang time I thought they were finally having a bit of good luck BAM the shit just keeps pouring on them.

Quinn has seriously taken over my heart. He is such an incredible character. There is just so much to him that we learn, and have yet to learn. While I LOVE Jasper from Monica's I Surrender series, Quinn has definitely been giving him a run for his money. He seriously turned up his game in this book and honestly, if him and Mia don't get their happily ever after by the time this series is finished, I may quit reading altogether!!!!

"Hope to live. I hope to live, Red. With you. After this is over, I hope to live a boring life…with you."

And let us not forget about Phil and Mia's father. You think the story with them can't get any more screwed up???? Well, think again. My mind was completely and utterly blown when Mia's mother dropped a HUGE bomb regarding Mia's connection to Phil. I got chills, and NOT in a make your body feel good king of way.

Monica, please please PLEASEEEEEEE tell me book 4 will be releasing soon because I just cannot take the wait to know what happens next. This must be the worst cliffhanger yet in this series. GAHHHH!

Review for Something Like Love (Something Like Normal #3) by Monica James

Review done for Hooked on Books

5 out of 5 stars

Heartbroken and gutted is definitely how I feel after reading this book. This is without a doubt Monica’s best book yet.

Something Like Love continues on from where book 2 left off. Mia and Quinn are still on the run in Canada and looking for her mother. Mia’s mother has the answers Mia needs to sort out her past. Unfortunately, the revelations are worse than she could have imagined.

Mia and Quinn are never out of danger and the past soon catches up with them. All their choices are leaving them with deadly consequences.

I adore Mia and Quinn. I think they are perfect for each other. They both grew up in their own hell but are slowly maturing and realizing that they deserve to be loved.

The new characters that emerge in this book are fantastic as well. They definitely add to the story.

My emotions were on a roller coaster throughout this book. One minute I was ecstatic that Mia and Quinn finally admitted their feelings for each other and acted upon them; next I was holding my breath preparing for doom when Mia’s dad and Phil show up.

This book was fantastic. Without a doubt, this is one of the best series I have read in a long time. It is full of action, love, and angst. The characters are well developed and the plot is well thought out.

I definitely recommend this book and the whole series, not only to young adult fans, but to everyone!

"Love cannot save you from your own fate." Amazing! This is the kind of book that swallows you whole. Following Mia and Quinn on their crazy journey is an incredible ride. No matter where they go or how hard they try to have their normal, the crazy always follows them. They are discovering themselves and what is making them happy but Mia's father and Phil continue to follow along to screw things up. Mia has finally figured out where she belongs and who her family really is. The twists and turns in this book will give you whiplash (in a good way).

"We all need love, whether we crave it or not, because it’s nice to know that someone cares enough to keep us in their thoughts. It’s human nature to want to be cherished. But to feel unloved, I can tell you now, there’s nothing more heartbreaking than feeling unworthy of being loved."

"But I’m so sick of what’s right and what’s wrong. I’m sick of abiding by other people’s rules, because all I want to do is live. And this, right now, is the most I’ve ever felt alive. Some may call it irresponsible, but I call it living. And after living my entire life in darkness, I’ve finally found the light. I don’t plan on getting lost in the dark ever again."

"And I like that. I like that my messy, chaotic, unusual life has this one scrap of normalcy—it anchors me to my humanity. It keeps my hope alive that one day I’ll finally find my normal."

Something Like Love will make you laugh, swoon, and cry. It has everything a great story needs and more. Bravo, Monica...you have done it again!

ARC provided!

2 Words....MIND BLOWING!

I cannot say enough of this series. It was a serious up and down emotions were out the door. Edge of my seat, nail biting, holding my breath kinda sh*t

I truly look forward to all Monica's books because they never seize to amaze me. Beautifully written, they flow so perfectly.

This journey never left you not wanting to continue, never left you saying "oh I can come back and pickup" NOOOOO, you had to keep going (I mean I did cause I waited so long for Quinn to come back)
This was sensational!

I cannot say this beats Jasper because he of course stole my heart first, but damn damn damn does Quinn have a piece of it too!

Monica, I know I sound like a broken record but Congrats doll on ANOTHER kick A** series!

xox love your guts!

So I just binge-read all three books in this series and they definitely did not disappoint. It is rare for an author to be able to capture a sense of urgency with the very pace of the novel and Monica James did just that. I actually felt like I was on the journey with Mia as she tries escape her demons, and although the poor girl can't seem to catch a break she gets to be with Quinn, who is just as messed up, but makes her life all the better. So glad that we seemed to avoid a love-triangle situation because that would've ruined the story.

Can't wait for the next book!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

This is the third book in the Something Like Normal Series. You need to read Something Like Love and Something Like Redemption before diving into Something Like Love. I thought that this would be the last book in this series. But after the way this book ends I about had heart failure and threw my kindle at the wall at the same time. This book picks up right where Something Like Redemption left off. Mia and Quinn are still on the run and this book will have you on the edge of your seat. You would think that they would find a moment where they were able to sit back and breathe and enjoy their time with each other. However, her father and his friend are never going to stop and they are straight up evil. They have not a clue who they can ever trust and thing gets them in some edge of your seat situations your not sure they are going to be able to get out of. Mia is still after answers from her mom and has to get to Canada. But is Canada really going to be the safe place for them. Maybe the cops can't do much of anything but there is still her psycho father to deal with.
I love spending time with Mia and Quinn. I am so in love with Quinn that it's not even funny. The guy is so good to Mia and he has secrets that you will get to find out in this book. I loved uncovering those. I love how protective he is of Mia. How he would do anything in the world for her. How he never wants to know what life is without her not that he has her. I think that Mia really grows in this book. She really goes through some things in this book too. At times you are going to think that things are not going to go how you need them to go. But, don't give up just keep reading. Like I said I don't know why I had it in my head that this was the last book in this series. SO....when it ended I was all no just now this cannot be the end. And then I was desperately looking around to see if I could find a hint at the next book. Thank goodness I found where there is an untitled fourth book listed for this series. I guess it could have ended with us having way too many questions and accepting what was happening but I am so glad that is not the way it is. I can't wait to find out what is going to happen because I desperately need to know. I am loving every second of this series. It is one that you do not want to miss.

SOMETHING LIKE LOVE picks up right where book 2, Something Like Redemption, left off. If you recall from book 2, it ends with Mia and Quinn on the run! They were traveling to Canada to find Mia’s mom. Why? Because Mia’s initial meeting with mom didn’t go so well and now she wants more answers. Whilst on this journey, Mia is also looking to exact revenge on the people that have wronged her.

Things get complicated when she finds her mom, as everything she believed to be true before was a lie. These truths push Mia to her mental breaking point but the one thing that keeps her grounded is Quinn. However, Quinn has been harboring a secret of his own. But will that secret destroy them both at a chance of happiness and normalcy?

I really felt for Mia. I love strong, level-headed FMCs / h’s and it broke my heart when she started doubting herself. I loved that Quinn was like her anchor and a constant by her side. It’s obvious that they have a deep emotional connection and it was lovely to see their love deepen for each other.

Monica is a brilliant writer; expertly weaving together romantic and suspense so seamlessly. The book had me at the edge of my seat while making my heart squish at the same time! Please note the book does end in a cliffhanger. I know that I’ll be waiting with bated breath for the next book in the series to come out! 4.5⭐️

SOMETHING LIKE LOVE is out now! The links to purchase your own copy are below!
