Falling in love shouldn’t be this dangerous—but Jorgia Yates wouldn’t have it any other way.

She writes Christian Romantic Suspense with protective heroes, courageous heroines, and a faith that holds strong when everything else falls apart.

Jorgia married her teenage sweetheart (after a very awkward meet-cute in the 90s), and together they’re raising two amazing children on the spectrum.

Living with chronic illness means her world is a little smaller—but her imagination is anything but. So while real life includes rest, resilience, and lots of grace, her characters chase danger, dodge bullets, and fall hard for the kind of love that protects—body and soul.

This Jorgia Yates series leaves me conflicted. Should I save each book as I would a treat or should I devour them? When one hits my TBR pile I want to jump right in and read rapidly because they are so good, but I often prolong the contact so I can savor the sweetness of amazing Christian fiction that hits all the right notes. Collateral Damage is the conclusion to the Hightower series, which makes me sad as I don’t want to see it end. This story is flooded with tension but shadowed by romance and drenched in faith that God is sovereign. Jorgia’s work is unapologetically faith-based. Her characters are either holding to the Savior or pointing others in that direction. In this case, Silas and Ava are both Christians but still openly struggling with some aspects of life, learning as they go but never claiming to have all the answers. In short, Collateral Damage is a deeply satisfying book. I’ll likely go back very soon and read all the Hightower novels in sequence, just because they are that good. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

My first book by this author, it is part of a series but can be read alone, I think I would have liked to have known some of the other characters before this but it was really good. The action and suspense started from the very first chapter and didn't quit until the end. I really liked the suspense of not knowing when the stalker would show up or what he would do and the action and the scenes where Silas was trying very hard to not give in to his attraction to Ava. There is a touch of humor in the story too. I plan to read some more of the books in this series.

Collateral Damage is exactly the kind of edge of your seat suspense that reminds you why you love the genre. The action is relentless, the tension is intense, and the storyline is so well built that you're completely locked in from start to finish. Silas and Ava are thrown into an impossible situation and watching them navigate danger, trust, and something neither of them planned for is just so good. What really stood out though is how naturally and prominently the faith elements are woven throughout — they make you think, and they make you admire these characters all the more. This is my second read from Jorgia Yates and I will absolutely be going back to catch up on the rest of the Hightower Security series. More please.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Another explosive read by author Jorgia Yates. I read one other book in this series and was blown away by the story, writing, and "speed" of the novel.
It felt like I was reading a Mission Impossible or Jason Bourne movie with the way the words brought the action to life.
There are no minced words, and the ones used give the reader the feel of high action and intensity.

I appreciated the insights into the thought processes of the two main characters, Ava and Silas. How Ava processed the stalker, the invasion of privacy, and the tension of being rescued while being watched. And also, Silas! What a powerful character. The depth of pain he's carried from past missions, and feeling as if he can never have what "normal" people have with a relationship or emotional attachment due to his history and enemies. I imagine most of our soldiers and those who've served feel this same way.

The antagonist was mentioned and detailed at the end, but something is still missing. Where did she meet him? How long was he involved with her? How exactly did he get under her security and defenses? Why did he latch onto her? Could others she helps be the next one? Even though some of this information was explained, these questions lingered for me even after the book. I haven't read all of this author's books, so I may be missing some of the connections that answered these issues.

It also seemed there was a previous connection for Ava and Silas that I didn't know about before reading this book. They had history that wasn't totally explained ... or I missed it somehow. I wish the history was better summarized so I could understand it better.

Overall I still loved the book. The writing, action and feel of intensity was great. And the ending was wonderful. No spoiler here with the end, please read for yourself.
I recommend this book and was given an ARC. All of these opinions are my own.

Within the first page of Collateral Damage, I had to decide whether I was brave enough to turn the next page.

The suspense was that intense. The chills, the anticipation, the sense of danger pressing closer ... I kept pausing, reconsidering, breathing through the tension. Then I prayed, took a deep breath, and stepped into the story with courage.

That alone tells you how powerfully Jorgia Yates writes.

But what made this a five-star read for me was the Christian faith breathing through Ava and Silas so naturally. Prayer was part of their life with Jesus, their Savior and Redeemer. Scripture was sought deliberately. God was turned to in fear, temptation, uncertainty, and need.

Ava’s prayers felt deeply real to me because they were honest instead of polished. She came to God needing wisdom, restraint, courage, protection for her mother, and trust that God Himself was present with her … even there.

Silas reaching for his ESV travel Bible and reading aloud because he needed God’s Word to clear away fog and doubt felt so real to me. That kind of faith on the page matters.

His covenant with God carried weight in this story because he lived it out moment by moment. His prayer, “Lord, forgive me. Help me honor the promise I made to You. Keep my desires under Your authority,” was such a powerful example of turning to God during temptation, right in the middle of the battle.

I loved friendships, too. Sacrificing. Present. Loyal. The kind of people who show up with action, prayer, courage, and love.

Jorgia Yates’ writing is powerfully descriptive, emotionally charged, clearly faith-centered, and deeply rewarding as an avid reader who longs for stories where Jesus is clearly present on the page.

Five stars, without a single doubt.

I am just in love with this series and Jorgia Yates! I have read the first four books in this series and they are exceptional romantic thriller books! Then I received an opportunity to read this Arc which is the sixth and final book and I jumped at the chance. I just couldn't resist reading this early copy. I'm a reader that when I love a series I try to make them last. I know that sounds silly but her books hit all the right notes for me. Her characters are well thought through and she makes you feel like you know them. The suspense is explosive and fast paced and then her romance is just so sweet and heart stopping! Ok so this book we has Silas Hightower the leader of Hightower Security. He is a very intense and powerful man. Its very heartbreaking the way he thinks that he doesn't deserve to have what most of his friends and employees have. They have found love. He believes he has to serve the Lord without human emotion and love. He carries slot of pain from failed past missions. But when he meets Dr Ava Morrison there is definite chemistry that they both are trying to ignore. Then Dr Ava has discovered she is being stalked by one of her patients. I enjoyed the first person of Ava and how it makes her feel that she's being stalked and isolated. That she feels guilty for not being able to be with her mother who has Alzheimer's because she's hiding out from her stalker with Silas. This book was a very emotional and faith filled romantic thriller! I definitely give it five stars! I just can't wait for Jorgias next project! I want to thank the author for this Arc. My opinions are my own.

"The transition is disorienting. Usually, I come in after the chaos—once trauma’s done the first pass. I assess. I interpret. I decide what damage matters, and what might still be saved. But as they wheel Silas away, I see the faces of colleagues gracing me with looks of deep concern. I take a step to follow, but his hand is on my arm."

Dr. Ava Morrison is used to being in charge. She's the one listens to the problems. She's the one who sets the treatment plan.

Silas Hightower is used to being in charge. He's the one who coordinates the teams. He's the one who sets up the strategic plan.

Ava is used to being in control, but when a threat seems to come out of nowhere, she reaches out to Silas who just happens to be close enough to come. She has been there for him and his team. Can Silas convince her that it's okay to need help sometimes? And will he accept her help when the situation takes an unexpected twist?

I didn't know I was waiting for this book, and this combination of characters. But I was. This honestly might be one of the most intense books that I have ever read. So many elements were at play. And yes, it kept me up way too late at night. But I had to know what happened. I have really enjoyed this series, and it ends with a bang.

I do recommend reading all six books in order. But you could follow along if you started with this one. I appreciate the fact that I was able to read an early copy through Book Sirens. I definitely planned on reading it. May as well review it early. 😁 If you enjoy heart stopping suspense, this book is for you!

It's the one we've been waiting for! At last, Silas gets his story. This works as a stand alone, but you'll get far more satisfaction is you read the series in order.

What I loved:

Found family. The Hightower team is a motley crew that supports each other through thick and thin, and Silas brought them together.

Strong faith. Jorgia Yates fills her writing with authentic faith. The Hightower team rely on the Lord and quote Scripture in a way that never feels cheesy. It's real.

Great characters. We've been tantalized before by the enigma that is Silas Hightower. He keeps himself apart, aloof. Caring yet distant. In this book, we see behind the armor. He's filled with self-doubt, afraid to allow love into his life. "Dr. Barbie," as Delilah affectionately calls her, is so caring she could come across as a do-gooder caricature if not handled with nuance and depth. I love her arc. When lives are on the line, she steps up, not waiting to be rescued.

An intriguing villain. A complex villain is essential for good romantic suspense. This guy sent a chill down my spine.

Jorgia Yates is a relative newcomer to Christian romantic suspense, but she's take her place alongside DiAnn Mills, Dee Henderson, Christy Barritt, and Jessica Ashley. I can't wait to see what's next.

Collateral Damage is a powerful and deeply moving conclusion to the Hightower Security series — one that showcases Jorgia Yates’ unmistakable heart for God and her gift for weaving faith, danger, and emotional truth into a single, unforgettable story.

The suspense is gripping, the stakes are high, and the action delivers exactly what readers of this series have come to love. But what sets this finale apart is that the story doesn’t end with the action. Jorgia takes us beyond the danger and into the quiet, sacred space where healing happens and true character is revealed.

And Silas…
This book is his unveiling.

For so long he has stood above everything — steady, strong, almost untouchable. But here, he finally steps down from that larger‑than‑life place and becomes fully, beautifully human. Vulnerable. Seen. It feels like watching someone you’ve admired from afar finally walk close enough for you to understand the depth of who they really are.

It was an honor and a privilege to get to know the real Silas Hightower.

Jorgia closes this series with grace, heart, and a sense of divine purpose. This finale is not just the end of a storyline — it’s the fulfillment of a journey. A reminder that strength is not found in being unbreakable, but in allowing yourself to be known, loved, and redeemed.

A beautiful, faith‑filled, and deeply satisfying conclusion. Highly recommended.

I have found another favourite christian romantic suspense author in Jorgia Yates! This book was compelling right from the first page and left me with edge of your seat tension not just from the danger and unknowns but also from the romantic burn. This story had a comfortable faith spread throughout it, nothing showy but a total belief that God is with you and will show up when you need him.  I loved the sense of team/family that Silas had with his team, he knew they would have his back no matter what.
Silas works with his team, not alone. However, the weather doesn't always play ball so when he gets a call from Ava he has to go alone. She has a stalker who is escalating and they disappear to a safe house to rest for a few days. Only no one planned for a massive snow storm and no one really knows who they are up against. Can they stay safe together and can Silas keep his heart in line and avoid falling in love?
This is book 6 in the Hightower Security series and as my first book of the series I can attest to the fact you can read it as a standalone but to really appreciate the team I suspect it would be better if you have read the other books first.  I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The tension starts within the first few pages and doesn't let up until nearly the last chapter - if you're looking for a clean, excellent, romantic suspense that fully engages you, check out Hightower Security Series. Book 6, Collateral Damage, builds on the previous books but can be read independently.

After years of compassionately serving others with traumatic experiences (particularly veterans) professionally and personally, Dr. Ava Morrison finds herself with a stalker striking terror in her own heart. She's worked with the tools of trauma (self-)care for years but now she has to use them for herself, which is just a little bit challenging. Thankfully, Silas is there to help her walk through the harrowing experience.

Filled with adventure, danger, hospitals, commitment, love, and explosives, be sure to read all the way to the end - don't miss the epilogue and bonus material. This God-honoring story has a happy ever after that sweetly fits Silas and Ava's story.

I received an ARC; this is my honest review.

Collateral Damage brings us Silas—the leader we know, steady and strong, carrying the weight of responsibility for his people with quiet grace. But the moment Ava enters his world, that foundation begins to crack.

The tension is intense as Silas struggles to maintain his boundaries while doing everything he can to keep Ava safe from the danger surrounding them. His real battle is internal—heart and mind at war, with old wounds reinforcing the walls he refuses to let down.

Ava meets him with equal intensity, and when those walls finally break, the connection between them burns hot.

The camaraderie and support from the team are felt in every interaction, grounding the story with strength and loyalty.

With danger simmering beneath the surface and emotions running high, everything builds toward a leap of faith that leads them to their HEA.

A tension-heavy, character-driven romance that shines through its emotional depth, strong leadership dynamic, and slow-burn payoff.

Intense and satisfying! Silas Hightower's life is ruled by a "Jebusite" moment. Now, instead of trusting too much, he trusts little. Silas is the driving force behind Hightower Security. Every assignment is a mission from the Lord, and Silas keeps the team grounded in Jesus. He is a larger-than-life hero!

When Dr Ava Morrison reaches out to Silas with some security concerns, things quickly escalate! Their desperate race to evade the dangerous "ghost" stalking Ava had my pulse pounding! The solidness of their faith as they rely on the Lord gives you room to breathe in the tense moments of suspense, the electric moments of awareness, and the intense action!

Collateral Damage is one of Jorgia Yates's finest works! I didn't want to put it down and am so thankful to share my excitement after reading my advance copy. This is a book where the characters linger after the last page is turned.

A very intense reading. Clean language and clean romance with clear Christian themes. This novel keeps me to the edge of my sit from the start. A wonderful reading. Congrats to the author.

Meet Silas, the guy in charge of Hightower Security. He is as cold as the blizzard hitting outside the door, but his staidy calculated thinking and strategies got out the windows protecting the one woman he love.

Meet Ava a neurosurgeon with a kind heart to service. She help the wrong person and her staidy life becomes a nightmare. When she found out that her life is on serious danger she call the one person who can tell her what to do next.

But they are not alone, God is there, helping them see and understand that He's in control, because their mistakes, weaknesses, failures and guilt is nothing to the grace and love of God.

Reading Collateral Damage, was like finding a cave filled with gold from the entryway to then finding it hard to get to the exit. Author Jorgia Yates, truly hooked me from the first page until the very end of this explosive story. Silas Hightower has lead missions in war, trained his security staff for protection detail and personally endeavored to follow every rule to the letter. Dr. Ava Morrison sees healthcare as a way to give back, along with the care she provides for vets outside of medical environments. When threats and destruction start having a noticeable presence in her ordinary life, the explanations grow thin. Things change when protection seeps into Ava's world. I loved reading this. This book was a truly suspenseful and wonderful end to a series. I give Collateral Damage 5 out of 5 stars and can't wait for another series by this talented author!!

The finale to the Hightower Security series comes as a story interwoven with faith as the hero and heroine struggle with the reality they find themselves in. Trapped in a cabin in the woods during a blizzard, the hero and heroine must prepare for a fight against an enemy they know will likely come. Very interesting watching the pieces fall into place.
Another well written story from Jorgia Yates for the conclusion to this series. The only thing that could make this better is to see this family show up again, maybe in another series, and to see them further along in their life journeys. I would definitely recommend this book to fans of the Christian romantic suspense genre.
This book is a clean read with no explicit scenes or language.

This is the final book in the Hightower series and what a finale. Silas, the head of Hightower finally gets his story and we get to know him better as he protects Dr. Ava (Dr. Barbie as some operators call her) from a stalker. This is no ordinary stalker as he is a highly trained former special ops soldier who leaves very little trace of where he is or what he is doing. Silas and Ava keep moving, but the stalker keeps finding. The conclusion leads to an ending with the stalker the loser, but Silas and Ava have their bumps and bruises to contend with. The book goes further than the danger and we see Silas and Ava healing and coming together for their happy ending. Through it all they look to God for guidance and help and He is always there for their solace.

This final book in the series really packs a punch!

This book is absolutely fantastic! You’ll be glued to it until you finish. If you’ve been reading this series, you will love to learn more about the inner workings of Silas. What has made him who he is. Yet, this can be perfectly read as a standalone.

Ava shows her faith, anguish, terror and strength in genuine ways all throughout the book. It’s a wonderful portrayal of the many emotions we feel during tough times and the absolute truth that God is with us in the turbulence as well as peaceful times in our lives.

This book helped me to take a look at myself from the outside and made me remember that my swinging emotions are okay as long as I keep myself anchored by trusting God.

It will leave you feeling satisfied and uplifted.

Another great read in the series. Everything is so well thought out; it captured me, and I couldn't put it down. I read it in one sitting. So exciting!

There is a lot of suspense, high-end tech assets, and great characters that held my interest from the beginning. Exciting fight scenes so full of explosive energy that they made me hold my breath, wondering what would happen next. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I was pleasantly surprised.

I enjoyed the budding romance, which added tension to the story and made the characters even more realistic. The faith element is inspiring and uplifting, and I loved the ending.

Once again, this author manages to deliver a Christian suspense romance filled with heart.
Dr. Ava Morrison has worked with the Hightower Security and when she grabs the attention of a potentially dangerous stalker , she seeks help.
Silas Hightower is the only one available and takes it upon himself to protect her. Even if it means he’s going to have to do it alone. What follows is an unexpected and scary cat and mouse thriller in which it seems the stalker knows what Silas and Ava will be doing next.
The plot was engaging from start to end and the characters likable and well developed.
Sorry to see this series end, but looking forward to what else this talented author has for her readers.

The boss of Hightower security is involved with projecting someone that is being stalked. His biggest problem is he is becoming personally involved with the woman he is trying to protect. In addition Reese expects too much of himself and isn't sleeping. Al these factors put him off his game.

Does the stalker manage to track them down? What is his game plan?

There are several unexpected twists to the tale. Of course Reese always tries to reach out to God but you can tell he doesn't always turn everything over to God. He thinks he has to do all the protecting on his own.

A great story and I highly encourage you to read it as it will uplift you as well.

I don't know about you or a possible new to this author, reader, but I approach each book I read with an open mind. This author has never left me disappointed, angry or unsure of her perceptions and intentions. This one blew me away!
This series has been a blessing to me in my Christian journey and every book has given me words and sentences to write in my journal for encouragement and hope. In this book I found one of them in chapter 14 as Silas and Ava discuss "the brain being a roadmap of God's design even in a failing body."
Collateral Damage is not just a book of suspense, romance or danger, but also one of faith, belief, hope and promises.

love a great Christian author who can write a book with genuine characters who struggle, triumph, and lean into God, and Jorgia Yates has done just that, in a most appealing way.

Collateral Damage kept me on the edge of my seat as I found myself scanning the snowy perimeter of an isolated cabin right along with Silas. I anticipated trouble around every corner as Ava’s stalker taunted her. Every step forward seemed to be a step back right up until the final confrontation. And what a surprise.

I loved these characters. This was my first foray into Hightower Security and now I can’t wait to step back into the previous books. I recommend this series and this book is a can’t miss on my romantic suspense journey.

The only think I can ever say negative about Jorgia's stories are that some are not long enough. I always enjoy the story! I always enjoy the characters! Even though I received my copy for free, I am voluntarily giving my honest opinion. Jorgia is one of my favorite authors! You can never go wrong with her stories! Even though I do receive a copy of her book for free, I have gone back and bought her books. I want to support her but I'm thankful for the free copy that I get to read sooner. Her stories have twists and turns and lots of suspense, leaving you on the edge of your seat. When the book ends, you want more. Great author. You can't go wrong (in my opinion) with Jorgia's books. FIVE STARS all the way! Really! I loved learning more about Silas Hightower after all the other books.

Found this book to be very intense. Enjoyed the main characters Ava, a female doctor who helped injured military and Silas, a highly skilled security member and son of the grandfather and father of Hightower, the security and high tech group. While helping an injured veteran get better, Raegan, he became infatuated with Ava and started stalking her, so she called Silas.

There was a lot of action in this story with keeping Ava safe from Raegan. They were isolated in a blinding blizzard with Raegan hunting Ava. Enjoyed the conversations that Silas had with his father who runs Hightower, their last name. It was a wild til the end.

This book is a real roller coaster ride of danger and emotion. The author really conveyed the sense of fear and invasion a stalker can cause - and this was no ordinary stalker. Due to other commitments by the team and the suddenness of the need for protection, Silas was on his own protecting Dr Ava. I loved his willingness to sacrifice himself to help others and his commitment to sticking to his Christian beliefs despite temptation. Clean in romance and language as you would expect from Christian suspense (lots of suspense!) and I loved how the Christian side of things was not forced but came naturally. I received an ARC but this review is my own. While this book could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend the other books in this series.

This was a great story written a really happy ending.

When Doctor Ava is being targeted by a stalker, she calls Silas an ex patient but a protector who owns Hightower Protective services.

Silas and Ava really have a special connection. Professional at first, they soon warm to their attraction especially when danger closes in.

I enjoyed the ramped up suspense and the action that didn't seem to stop. It made it essential to keep reading. I sure couldn't put it down.

Danger, suspense drama and a really great romance that showed their connection.

So well written with a fantastic plot. Can't ask for more. Too good!!

Intense. Silas carries so much on his shoulders that the heaviness seeps through the pages. I love it when Ava calls him on it. Dr. Ava Morrison is intelligent and wealthy. Silas is our intrepid leader of Hightower Security. Ava has a stalker and she calls Silas. That's about as easy going as it gets. It's hard to do without spoilers. The stalker gave me the creeps and each page I held my breath. I will miss this series and I abasolutely love how anyone can read, with little to no faith and full of faith. This was my first time reading a book by Jorgia Yates, and I was impressed with her ability to create chilling moments of suspense that kept me guessing and turning the pages. I really liked Silas and his unwavering commitment to protect Ava, and Ava’s stalker was just horrifying. What an excellent read! Collateral Damage grabs your attention right from the beginning, and the suspense doesn't stop until the end. I enjoyed the banter and found family among the team.
