Unable to shed blood on the battlefield since the advent of the Great Peace, dwarves of Diglir's generation live in perpetual adolescence in the eyes of their community. Given his natural proclivity for blunders, is there no way for Diglir to shed his humiliation and earn the esteem of his fellow dwarves? Will his thirst for praise undo everything? Diglir must answer these questions quickly, for a growing darkness is settling on his homeland - a darkness unnoticed amidst the ease of the Great Peace.

Michael Candelario grew up on the eastern coast of North Carolina, USA. He developed a love of reading when he was three years old, and a love of writing many years after that. He used to write terrible short stories and songs when he was in his awkward middle-school phase. But don't judge him for that.

At the age of 19, Mike married Megan in the mountains of Boone, North Carolina. When he was almost 22, the pair had their first son. Shortly after Michael graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Creative Writing, the couple had their second son. Mike lives in North Carolina with his amazing family and hopes to finish many creative projects in the coming years.

Mike did not grow up watching sports, but he has become a diehard fan of Arsenal FC. He has also been adopted into the Washington Redskins' fandom through his wife's family. COYG, and HTTR.

Beautiful

This book was beautifully written. The imagery and world building go above and beyond for what's expected. I loved the world's creation story. This story follows the troubles of one unlucky dwarf, and the author does an excellent job of making your heart ache for the difficulties this dwarf goes through. The only thing I disliked about the ending was how much of a cliffhanger it was! I can't wait to read the next book in the series, but it hasn't been published yet. Oh the patience that ending requires while waiting for the next book. I look forward to continuing this series. I think this might be my favorite of the author's works.
