Sophia Belle is an author of Contemporary Romances. She loves writing about small-town romances where the guys have boy-next-door qualities but turn up the spice in the bedroom. Her dirty-talking, possessive, golden retrievers at heart—fall hard and love even harder.
When she's not writing, you can find her boating with her family on the weekends, enjoying the beaches, homeschooling their youngest, and going on fun group dates with their friends. She lives in Florida with her husband, three children, and two golden retrievers, and yes, Mimi and Papaw live above the garage, just like in the book.
A note from Sophia:
One night, I dreamed about the characters from Connected by Souls. I woke up in the middle of the night, opened my laptop, and started writing. I have always been an avid reader, but I had no clue what I was doing. I was having so much fun writing that I told myself if I only did this for my eyes, it would be enough because it brought me so much joy.
Before I knew it, I had an entire novel sitting in front of me. A novel I cried and laughed with while sitting in the dark by myself, typing away in the still of the night. A story I knew needed to be shared with others.
I've opened up this whole creative world that I didn't know existed inside me, and I never want it to end. Writing has given me something I can own outside of being a mom. A sense of accomplishment and joy that I didn't know was missing.
I look forward to beginning my journey as an author, and I’m excited to connect with my readers on a deeper level. I've put my heart and soul into what I write, and my wish for you is to feel connected to my characters as much as I do.
Review of advance copy received from Author I really liked this book. I’m a sucker for a good spicy hockey romance and this was just that. I loved watching Knox and Savi fall more and more in love with each other. I hope the next book is about Cayden finding someone to love.
I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This is book 1 of the Bayside Bolts Hockey series by Sophia Belle.
Unputdownable. I was completely engrossed in this book. I binged it as fast as I possibly could. So spicy and I’m here for that! I loved that it actually had some Hockey mixed in with the spice. A lot of books I have read mention that they play a sport and don’t say much more on the matter, but this book was a great balanced mix. I loved the relationship between Knox and Savi, how she was the sunshine to his darkness. I loved the yearning, angst and banter in the book. It was well written and fast paced. A must read.
This book includes: Past SA of a minor (non graphic and off page) Childhood Emotional and Physical Assault Explicit Consensual Sexual Content Death of a Parent
Thank you to Sophia Belle for the opportunity to read your book. It ranks at the top on my hockey romance books, right up there with Rina Kent and The Vipers. Really an awesome read.
“Looks like you just got yourself another stray that nobody wants”
Sunshine aka Savi and Knox have been at each other’s throats forever. When Savi’s brothers tell Knox he can stay in the guest house with Savi in the main house, everyone is expecting fighting and maybe even murder. They are attempting to work out their problems and issues with each other, which brings so many other kinds of feelings.
This was such a good book! It had all my favorite tropes including enemies to lovers, forced proximity, brothers best friend and even had found family all with some hockey. Throw in a feisty awesome FMC and it’s just another added bonus. The spice levels were also so spicy. I was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC and I can’t wait to see where the rest of the series goes.
“I want to feel what it’s like to be completely and utterly owned by Knox Stone.”
As always Sophia continues to create worlds that I never want to leave! The Bayside Bolts are going to be one hell of a Hockey Team I will be cheering for all the way to the end.
To start this series Sophia gives us Knox Stone, the grumpy captain who has a chip on his shoulder and his best friend’s little sister, Savi Montgomery, who has always shone way too bright for his dark world.
Watch these two fight their feels and try their damndest to cover their attraction with all the hate in the world. But remember it’s a VERY FINE line between love and hate 😉🔥🔥
There is a lot for these two to come from, and check your triggers. These two had some hard situations happen while growing up, and that trauma has a last impression. What’s interesting to see and watch is how different people let their trauma affect them, and not always does the darkness have to consume you. You can be the narrator of your story, you just have ti take control.
I also loved how Sophia set us up for the rest of this series. You got all of Savi and Knox’s story but we also got to see inside this team and what’s coming for us. I’ve already claimed dibs on the goalie 🤭
This is book 1 in Sophia Belle’s new Bayside Bolts hockey series and it DELIVERED!!!
I am head over heels in love with Knox and Savi’s relationship! 🩷
Savi is the only sister to four older brothers, so I had no doubt that the girl could hold her own and give it right back to anyone who messed with her and boy did she!! She is probably my favorite of Sophia Belle’s FMCs… well she may tie with Olivia! She was fiesty and witty and kept me giggling with her snarky responses!
And Knox freaking Stone! 😮💨 The mouth and body on this man, gah! Where do I find me a sexy hockey captain?! And his teammates?! Gah I cannot wait for their books.
Sophia Belle delivered the perfect hockey romance book. She gave us the perfect amount of actual hockey playing, spice, and love! Mmmm, I cannot wait for everyone to read this book!
Seriously though, you are going to want to read this series! 🩷🖤
Get ready for your next brothers best friend/best friends sister romance. Hockey romance at that!
Meet Knox Stone, sexy, single, cocky hockey captain of the Bayside Bolts. He has a troubled past, lost a parent at a young age and doesn’t do relationships..
Meet Savannah Montgomery, gorgeous, brilliant, single veterinarian. She has the best family, best parents, FOUR older brothers; everything a girl could want.. however, she is also holding some trauma from her past. Trauma that only one person knows about..
Knox and Savi will take you on a roller coaster of emotions.. a magnetic pull will have you screaming, crying, wanting to throw up, wanting you to slap a character; all the things you could feel in a book, you’ve got it.
I love every single one of Sophia’s characters and their partners but these two… these two give a whole new meaning to soul mates. You can feel the tension. You can feel the passion.
The banter in this book is fantastic. Be ready for laughs, tears, OMG moments, and if this is not your first Sophia Belle read, be sure to watch for those Easter eggs she likes to give us!
Stay on the watch for the next Bayside Bolts book coming later in 2026! I for one, cannot wait after this one!!
•Brothers best friend •Best friends sister •Small town romance •Hockey romance •Childhood trauma •Contemporary Romance
I have officially entered my Sophia Belle era and I am HERE FOR IT. I absolutely devoured this two and I couldn’t put them down. I loved every single second of these two..and the banter!! Good. Gawd. I will eat up a brother’s best friend every single dang time and Knox was oh so dang delicious! I cannot wait for the rest of the series! 💖
Knox Stone. Oh the man you are. This man has been pining for his best friend’s little sister since they were kids. But instead of telling her he pushes her away every chance he got. But when he’s transferred back home to the professional hockey team and needs a place to stay..of course he ends up staying in her pool house. 🤭I absolutely loved watching Knox break down his walls to let Savi in, our precious little broken boy.
Savi Montgomery. The way I love this girl. She crushed on Knox for years and when he lands at her doorstep she has an idea 🤭 I mean who else wouldn’t want a friends with benefits situationship with the captain of the hockey team 😉 Savi has loved this boy for what feels like forever but getting him to break down his walls was the true test. But when these two finally cave..oh man oh man let the sparks fly babbyyyy! 🔥
I loved these two so dang much! The hurt from the past, the forbidden relationship, the banter, oh and let’s not forget about the hot hot spice 🔥 top tier babyyyyy. Let’s just say that scene in the limo will live rent free babbyyy 🥵
I am oh so excited for the next book and the rest of the series! 💖

5 stars for Knox Stone and his Sunshine, Savannah Montgomery ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
To quote Mary Berry, Savi and Knox’s story was, sheer perfection! I have no complaints. This book had everything I loved. A broken heroine & hero, some love/hate, a deal, an MMC that plays hockey and some very spicy spice.
I was right there with Savi drooling over Knox. The Bolts new Hockey captain was 100% blush worthy. The things he did for Savi? The things he said to Savi?! I think we all want someone like Knox Stone in our life. I loved getting to know his back story and seeing how much he loved his mom 😭. And I loved Savi so much 😭! Baby girl has been through it!! I wanted to just hug her and Knox was always there for her. I loved how he stepped up, how he kept her secret, how he protected and cherished Savi. Like I said, sheer perfection.
I really loved all the side characters and now will have to back track and read all Savi’s brothers books! And Knox’s team mates! To be honest, all the guys on the team are great and I hope they all get books, but Jett Hayes?! I’m OBSESSED. Every time he was on the page, he just stole my attention 😂.
The spice in this book was 😳🔥!! There was a lot but it was a good balance between spice and plot and just so enjoyable. I loved seeing them discover their k*nks. It was hot.
After reading this I need book 2 now!! I am so excited for the rest of this series and cannot wait to see where Sophia takes it!!
Thank you to Sophia Belle and Luna Lit for the arc!
Holy Crap. That was H-O-T. This is my first book by Sophia and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! This book is just the first in a new series and I cannot wait to read more! A hockey series with spice that's to die for, sign me up! This book does come with a few trigger warnings so mind them carefully. The relationship between Knox and Savi had me laughing, crying and wanting to scream. It's perfect. Knox and Savi have known each other since they were kids. Knox is the captain of the hockey team the Bayside Bolts and Savi is a veterinarian. These two have had a love hate relationship for years, except now, they are living in the same house. Knox has had a dark childhood and is struggling to overcome this demons. He doesn't think he deserves good things. Savi has her own trauma that only one other person knows about. Its hindered her ability to have relationships since. The book is filled with these two trying to figure it out. The spice will have you fanning yourself so I don't suggest reading it in a public place. Absolutely fantastic book! Thank you to Sophia Belle for the Advanced Reader Copy!!
Disclaimer: I received an ARC of the book and spoilers ahead
2.5 stars rounding up to 3 stars
Porn with some plot. Though the sex scenes were hot, I thought there were too many of them and wished there was more to the story. Also, they only had protected sex once. After the countless times they had unprotected sex and he finished inside of her, I had the sense a surprise pregnancy was going to occur. Spoiler, Savi does get pregnant. But what irritated me was that she was surprised like be so for real, pregnancy should not have been a surprise.
The story moved quickly, but dragged on at the same time. Savi and Knox end up sleeping together for the first time around chapter 16, breaking up in chapter 22, and making up & saying I love you in chapter 25. Mind you, there are 43 chapters in the book. I didn't really see a major conflict between the two. Knox and Savi do end up keeping their relationship hidden from her brothers so there was that minor conflict, but that was resolved in a chapter.
Some of the text around the sex scenes was cringe. For example, "'Now that I know how good you taste, I may want to snack all the time.' 'I’m not going to say no,' I giggle. 'I can be your vending machine.'" and " 'Fill me, Knox. My pussy is thirsty' ”
The author does hint of the next book in the series, which will be focusing on the goalie, Cayden. A single dad, hockey romance? Yes, please! Though, I would like to see more plot and character development than just sex scenes.
I really can't put into words how much I love Knox and Savi. The shared trauma. The connection. The chemistry. The tension. It was such a raw and real emotional rollercoaster.
Their story is heartbreakingly beautiful. I truly don't know what else to say, because I don't want to spoil anything. Just please read it. Watching them finally give into the magnetic pull and help to heal each other is so satisfying. And seeing these two find the happiness they so deeply deserve had my heart feeling like it was going to burst out of my chest.
Sophia had me completely lost in this story. Infinity Stars! No notes! These two and their story was perfection!!
And now I can't wait to see the other Bayside Bolts men brought to their knees by a woman!

I am so sad this book had to end. This is the last sibling of the Montgomery clan. Sav was one I was very excited to read. And with no third act breakup! Thank you Sophia! You follow Savannah, a feisty veterinarian, and Knox, a professional hockey player. One dark night tied them together but also kept them apart. She is feisty and he is guarded. One thing that surprised me about this book is the pace. There are not many books that end with more moments with the found family.
Shattered is book 1 in the Bayside Bolts series and follows Savi & Knox’s story.
He thinks he’ll destroy her but she might be just the one who saves him!
This book was so good! Pulled me in with all the angst, tension and then when you have the F-It moment…LOVED IT! Was rooting for them the entire time! They deserved it after everything they’ve been through!
This story was packed with forbidden tension, lots of emotions and a love worth fighting for!
“I don’t feel shattered when I’m with you. I feel whole.”
LOVE LOVE LOVED! This is my first Sophia Belle read and it will most definitely not be my last. This hockey romance had alot of depth and kept me interested from page 1. There was trauma living in Savi and Knox that affected their daily lives and the ability to open up to people the way they needed to, especially one another.
Savi had something traumatic happen to her years ago at a party where Knox found her and actually rescued her. For years after that night happened, they have had this tension and “hatred” both holding onto this secret. But recently being forced together while Knox finds a new place to live, it finally makes them face these demons together. They start to knock those walls down BEAUTIFULLY.
I was obsessed with this book and loved Knox and Savi so much! Knox goes from grumpy hockey player to falling head over heels in love. And also becomes so ridiculously happy. I can’t wait for her next book. 🩷
This book had me laughing, crying, and getting a little hot and bothered all at the same time. It’s emotional AF with some heavy themes, but also spicy in the exact way I needed.
Sophia Belle, you’ve truly bewitched me again with Knox. He’s dark, he’s troubled, and he’s a delicious hockey captain I would absolutely love to climb.
“When are you going to realize that you don’t have to hold all this pain on your own?” 😭😭😭
I love Knox and Savi! The push and pull just to end up where they did was great. I love brothers best friend so much. The chemistry was good and it was well written.
This was my first time reading Sophia, and it absolutely will not be my last. The care she takes when writing about complicated emotional histories and healing is so clear and beautiful. Even the most difficult moments are handled with intention, which makes the growth and love between these characters feel like a breath of fresh air.
Knox and Savi are two people deeply shaped by trauma ( l LOVE a trauma bond) and a shared past, and I found myself rooting for them right away. Their story is layered with history, tension, and emotions that have been building for years. Knox is full of darkness and guilt, and watching Savi slowly remind him that he deserves light and to be loved was incredibly powerful.
But what made this story even more special for me was Savi herself.
Her past is deeply painful, and what she endured would have broken so many people. Instead of letting it harden her, she becomes stronger, more compassionate, and somehow even more capable of loving deeply. The strength it takes to survive something so painful and still move through the world with kindness and empathy is incredible, and Sophia captures that beautifully. Savi carried that pain and trauma alone for so long, but she refuses to let it define her or take away the life she deserves.
And the way she and Knox are forced to show up for each other is what makes this story so powerful. She doesn't try to fix him; she simply stands beside him while he faces it. In turn, Knox learns how to do the same for her. They are two people realizing they don't have to carry their pain alone anymore.
Shattered is the first book in the Bayside Bolts series which follows Savi and Knox in a hockey romance that I could not put down. Knox is the grumpy, cocky, mouthy captain and Savi a veterinarian as well as the best friend's little sister and the complete opposite, but you know what they say opposites attract. There is lots of tension in this love hate relationship, great banter, emotional moments, and the spice was definitely spicing. If you love hockey romance, then you definitely want to read this one you will not be disappointed. I can't wait for the second book in this series I want to know about each of the supporting characters.
4.5⭐️ 3🌶️ ARC REVIEW: 📖 SHATTERED 📖 by Sophia Belle ✨ This is book 1 in the Bayside Bolts hockey series. So many things I loved about Knox & Savi’s story. Knox is a broken boy and thinks he doesn’t deserve love but Savi shows him that he belongs and is worthy of love. It’s healing, beautiful, and at times heartbreaking, how they navigate their shared past and trauma bond. She’s the light to his dark, he calls her sunshine. 🫠 Then there’s the juxtaposition of his alpha male/BDE to wanting to protect her and take care of her—It’s swoony and hot AF. From remembering her coffee order to washing her hair. From never cuddling except with her, and feeling calm falling asleep holding her. To creative use of a pool table, a mirror 🪞 scene, hand necklaces, edging, and toys as teammates. And the ending? Gah! Romantic, heartwarming perfection. 🤌🏻 You won’t regret reading this book. 🩷
The Dedication: For those who refuse to stay shattered and live in the dark anymore...your light is waiting for you. Until then, Knox can be your light too.
Knox Stone is the Bayside Bolts’ new center and captain. To him, the ice equals freedom…from pain, sadness, torment. Savi (Savannah) Montgomery has 4 older brothers, and works at a veterinary clinic in Blue Haven. Her brother, Miles, is Knox’s best friend. Knox has been obsessed with her since they were kids, and is protective of her. He doesn’t want his demons to taint her, so he’s pushed her away/kept her at a distance for years. She knows his grumpy, moody act is just a persona; she knows there’s a good guy underneath. He infuriates her, they banter/bicker. They’ve danced around their attraction for years. She wants to hate him but he’s her safe space.
He’s afraid of destroying her goodness, so he tells her to leave him alone. But she keeps pushing because she doesn’t want him to hold onto his pain alone anymore. He’s so afraid of feeling anything good in his life, so he pushes people away rather than admit he needs someone. He loves taking care of her. She knows he belongs with her, so she doesn’t give up, even though he is adamant that she deserves more than he can offer. She makes him feel less broken, less shattered. When she tells him that his mom would be proud of him? 🥹

I know he feels he can't give me what I need, but he's wrong. He's exactly what I need and want. All his scars...All his wounds that haven't healed...His darkness and his light. I want all of him.

Thank you to Sophia Belle and Luna Literary for the gifted ARC!
Shattered was one of those reads that completely pulled me in early and then had me sorting through my feelings by the end. I am such a sucker for the she's-been-hurt-and-he's-the-one-to-heal-her trope and this story delivered it in spades! The author nailed the hockey aspects. I could seriously feel like I was watching hockey play out in an arena and scent the ice and hear the skates and see the puck go flying into the net. And honestly, many hockey authors forget to bring that into the story but I could tell Sophia Belle put thought and care into crafting those scenes.
The first half was really strong for me. The emotional setup between the characters, especially tied to the FMC’s past trauma (check your triggers if you have issues with difficult trauma situations because this one is not glossed over at all it's realistic and heartbreaking.). It made their dynamic feel layered and complicated in a way that kept me turning the pages into the wee hours of the night. There’s a definite push and pull between them, with history, tension, and a lot left unsaid driving their interactions. I loved how Savi knew what she needed to do to push Knox's buttons. She was hurt in the past, yes, but he was her safe harbor and she wanted him to see exactly what all his walls and guards around his heart were doing to them both.
Once they’re in close proximity, the relationship shifts into that messy, emotional gray area where boundaries blur and feelings get complicated. I don't know if it was really enemies to lovers. More frenemies to lovers to HEA. There’s a lot of hot scenes while Knox shows Savi all the things she wants to know and experience. With minimal external conflict which was mainly keeping their relationship a secret from her brothers safely so she can let go of the past, they did a bunch of circling each other for a while before things came to a head and needed to be resolved- his trauma especially. I loved the way Knox asked her to be his. Read it...it is so swoony!
I will say the second half was more of a push-pull should we be together let's think this through type arc, with a few plot elements that slowed the relationship down. (Yes, there's a third act relationship status tension that isn't a long one because they belong together.) That said, the emotional payoff and the core relationship still kept me invested and the HEA felt completely deserved. Plus Savi's brothers, sister in laws, and Knox's teammates all made this world created by Sophia Belle feel so realistic and fun!
If you like angsty, complicated dynamics, close proximity, and characters working through past trauma while fighting their feelings and tasting the forbidden, this one will definitely hit. I was honored to be an ARC reader for this story and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!
Every time Sophia releases something new, I already know I’m about to fall into a world I won’t want to crawl out of — and this hockey series opener is no exception. The Bayside Bolts have officially claimed a permanent spot on my “ride-or-die fictional teams” list, and I’m ready to cheer them on all the way to the championship.
This first installment centers on Knox Stone, the team’s broody, guarded captain, and Savannah “Savi” Montgomery — the little sister of his best friend and the one woman who has always disrupted his carefully controlled life. Knox carries grief and old wounds that shaped him into someone who avoids emotional attachments at all costs. Savi, on the other hand, grew up surrounded by love (and four overprotective brothers), but she’s not untouched by hardship either. Both of them are walking proof that trauma leaves marks — the difference lies in how you choose to live with them.
Their dynamic? Electric.
Knox leans into irritation and distance to mask what he feels, while Savi refuses to dim her light just because he prefers the shadows. Watching them try to disguise desire with sharp words and stubborn denial is wildly entertaining. The push-and-pull between them rides that razor-thin edge where resentment and longing blur together, and the tension is palpable from start to finish.
Savi might be one of my favorite heroines from this author yet. She’s clever, bold, and more than capable of standing her ground — which she absolutely does. Her quick comebacks and fearless attitude had me grinning constantly. And Knox? Infuriating, magnetic, and undeniably swoon-worthy. Beneath the arrogance and emotional walls is a man who feels deeply, even if he fights it every step of the way.
The emotional range in this book is no joke. You’ll laugh at the banter, ache for their pasts, want to shake some sense into them, and then melt when they finally let their guards slip. The chemistry is intense, the passion undeniable, and when they stop pretending they don’t care? It’s explosive in the best way.
What I also loved is how seamlessly the groundwork is laid for the rest of the team. You get a full, satisfying arc for Knox and Savi, but there are just enough glimpses into the other players to spark serious anticipation. I already have my eye on a certain goalie and cannot wait to see whose story is next.
If you’re craving a brother’s-best-friend romance wrapped in hockey culture, layered with angst, healing, heat, and heart — this one absolutely scores. Consider me fully invested in the Bayside Bolts era.
💕ARC REVIEW💕 This is my first book by Sophia Bell and definitely won’t be the last! I’m hooked!
Sophia Belle kicks off the Bayside Bolts series with an absolute powerhouse of a first book. From the very first chapter, I knew I was stepping into a world I wouldn’t want to leave — and a hockey team I’ll be obsessing over for the long haul.
Knox Stone, the broody captain with a complicated past, is the kind of hero who pretends he doesn’t feel deeply… but absolutely does. He’s guarded, intense, and carries old wounds that shape the way he moves through the world. And then there’s Savannah “Savi” Montgomery — sunshine wrapped in steel. As the only sister to four protective older brothers, she’s strong, sharp-tongued, and more than capable of standing her ground — especially against Knox.
Their dynamic? Electric.
This is that delicious brothers-best-friend, best-friend’s-little-sister tension where every glance feels loaded and every argument hides something deeper. The push and pull between love and frustration is razor thin, and watching them try (and fail) to deny their chemistry is half the fun. The banter is quick, the emotional hits land hard, and the passion absolutely simmers.
But it’s not just sparks and spice. Both Knox and Savi carry pieces of their past that still affect them, and I loved how the story explored the way trauma can shape you — without defining you. Their journey feels layered, messy, and real in a way that makes you root for them even harder.
And can we talk about the team? The Bayside Bolts are already stealing the spotlight. The glimpses we get of the other players have me fully invested in this series (yes, I’m already claiming a favorite).
If you love: • Hockey romance • Brothers best friend • Best friend’s little sister • Small town vibes • Emotional depth with real character growth • Sizzling chemistry with heart
…then this one absolutely deserves a spot on your TBR.
Sophia Belle delivered a swoony, tension-filled, emotionally rich sports romance that balances heat, humor, and heart perfectly. I’m officially locked in for whatever comes next in this series. 🖤🏒
Savi and Knox have always bickered and been at each other's throats for as long as they can remember. Disguised as hate, they circled each other's lives for years, bonded by an event that Savi experienced at 15. Knox is the only other person that knows what happened that night, but it only strengthens the connection they've always felt.
When Knox transfers back to his hometown Hockey team as their new captain, Savi's brother tells him he can stay in the guest house at the family beach house--the same house Savi is currently residing in. Their reunion proves that their spark is still alive as ever, but Knox tries as hard as he can not to dim Savi's light with his dark past. Savi's light is too bright though, and his walls quickly start to crumble despite his efforts.
I'm a little torn about this one. If I could rate 3.5 that would probably be my real rating. I did really enjoy the storyline, and both Savi and Knox's history made you root for them to have their HEA even more. Savi was so strong committed to helping Knox. BUT... I thought the healing arc for Knox was just too quick and easy. The first half of the book is about how haunted and damaged his is, and then 1 thing happens at hockey game and he immediately switches to being all in, talking about getting married and having kids. I wanted him to heal and accept Savi into his life fully, but healing from that kind of childhood takes time and so much work. My dad is an alcoholic and even though I haven't spoken to him in almost 10 years now, the healing is still very much ongoing. There is no 3rd act breakup in this book, so after about 50% you get pure Savi and Knox, which is a nice change of pace from some romances that have your MMCs get together with 10% left (although I was sort of waiting for a shoe to drop lol). The spice is plentiful, so if you like that, sit back and enjoy! If not, maybe sit this one out. I really enjoyed the other hockey players as side characters, and am glad to see that future books in the series will cover their characters as well.
Thank you so much to Luna Literary, the Author and publisher for allowing me to read and review!
In a world full of darkness, she is the one bright spot in his life. Shattered is filled with sweet moments, heated romance, and forbidden touches as our MCs can’t keep away from one another. Sophia Belle has written amazing stories, but this may be my favorite so far. What starts out as a hate fueled relationship, slowly reveals to be much more than that. A thin line separates love and hate and this book shows just how thin that line really is.
Knox Stone is the MMC who doesn’t do relationships. Able to have any woman he wants, the one he can’t is the one he can’t get away from. The younger sister of his best friend, she is always around. The amount of emotions he not only goes through in this book but allows you to feel is insane, but amazing. Sophia writes him in a way that no matter how much you want to dislike him you just can’t. And then flips the script and shows you the real him and then it is impossible to not love him.
Savi loves hard. She has loved Knox for so long, even knowing he may never see her that way. When he comes to her rescue, things change between them. She begins to show Knox a love unlike anything he has ever felt or thinks he deserves. She helps him break down walls and shows him he is beyond worthy. Through her own pain and suffering she is able to let Knox in as well, which Sophia did a fantastic job writing.
This series is going to be amazing! Introducing us to side characters that will one day have their own books already has me wanting their books. Sophia has always been able to bring so much to her books that makes readers want more. This story is the perfect balance of intense, passion, and plot and I couldn’t put it down. A wonderful story about how brokenness provides cracks to let in the good and how that good can fix you from the inside out.
As always, review any author notes before reading.
What to Expect: 🏒NHL Captain MMC 🖤Veterinarian FMC 🏒Trauma Healing 🖤Brother’s Best Friend 🏒Secret Tattoo 🖤Forbidden Romance 🏒Enemies to Lovers 🖤Edging 🏒Witty Banter
Knox Stone is a broody, moody hockey player. He has a troubled past and feels like the darkness is always around him. He avoids relationships and anything serious. Savi Montgomery is a veterinarian, and is the youngest of five, with four older brothers. A tragic event eleven years ago has her with trauma she can't seem to shake, and the only one who knows about that night is surprisingly, Knox. They've known each other since they were kids, and they've always hated each other. Or do they?
Knox's barbed remarks towards Savi are his way of keeping his distance from his best friend's little sister. She's off limits, even though she's the only one he's ever felt at home with. He doesn't deserve her when he's all darkness and she's all light. Savi has always had a crush on Knox, but would never give him the satisfaction of knowing what he does to her. When Knox gets traded back to his hometown, Savi's older brother lets him crash in the guest house at their parent's vacation home. Savi is living in the main house, and comes home one day to find Knox in her kitchen. Bring on the tension, bring on the banter! I love when you see two characters fight their feelings so hard, and hide behind their verbal barbs. We know what's going on here! When Savi approaches Knox with a proposition that can completely change their dynamic, he should definitely refuse. That love/hate line begins to falter. After some really great tension and a little jealousy, he finally gives in, and the sparks fly.
This book touches on some serious traumas, so be mindful of trigger warnings. Sophia handles these topics in a gentle manner, and seeing Savi and Knox heal is a beautiful thing. The hockey scenes were executed perfectly, so as a hockey fan, thank you for having a decent amount of these in the book! I really loved the interactions with Savi's extended family, as well as the antics of the other players on the team.
If you're a fan of hockey romance, forced proximity, enemies to lovers, brother's best friend, this is the book for you!
This book left me completely shattered. Literally all the emotions and they’re all over the place, in truly the best way possible! You want a book that makes you feel every sort of emotion possible … soul warming love, gut wrenching sadness, emotionally heart felt moments between two loves, and even some hatred/dislike (not towards MCs). I’m telling you, this book has it all!
Knox left me speechless. He’s everything you’d want in a man. Protective, possessive, slightly stalkerish but with good intentions, puts you first, loves with all his being, and will fight to the death for you. He’s also got this fun, sweet, caring side to him that shines at the best times. His love for Savannah (Savi) was powerful. And when he finally caved, it was over. Savi is a girl’s girl! She’s fun, strong, caring, and just feisty enough for Knox. She deals with a very tough situation when she was younger, and you can’t help but feel for her. The way she doesn’t give up on her feelings for Knox and lets him help her, I just loved! These two had this undeniable chemistry and buried passion for each other. The situation with Savi binds them together, but when they cover it up with hatred for each other, it only temporarily disguises what’s been there the whole time — security, peace, and love. Their relationship is hot, steamy, sweet, and adorable. Definitely the couple who can’t keep their hands off each other(literally). And if that’s not enough, Knox has some pretty funny teammates. Their banter left me laughing out loud a few times. I can’t wait for future books to continue reading about them! Savi’s brothers/SIL also have some funny lines and moments.
Overall, this book deserves every star. It was truly a wonderful book and I really enjoyed every page! This was an ARC read for me, and these are my honest opinions. Thank you Luna Literacy and Sophia Belle for this opportunity!
I am officially obsessed! Shattered is my first book by Sophia Belle, and it didn't just meet my expectations—it absolutely destroyed them. This is the ultimate "brother's best friend" hockey romance that delivers everything you want: a broody, guarded captain, a feisty veterinarian who can hold her own against four older brothers, and a tension-filled "pool house" living situation that makes the air feel electric. Knox Stone is the grumpy captain with a troubled past who has been pining for Savi since they were kids. But instead of telling her, he’s spent years pushing her away to protect his dark world from her sunshine. Watching his walls finally crumble when he moves into her pool house was everything! 🏒🔥
Knox and Savi are the definition of soulmates forged in fire. This story dives deep into the "trauma bond" trope, showing how two people shaped by painful pasts can find security and peace in each other. Savi is sunshine wrapped in steel—she’s survived things that would break most people, yet she remains compassionate and fierce. Knox is protective, possessive, and "slightly stalkerish" in the best way possible. Their journey isn't just about the sizzling chemistry (though that limo scene will live rent-free in my head forever 🥵); it’s about two people realizing they don’t have to carry their darkness alone. They don't try to fix each other—they just stand beside each other while they heal.
The Bayside Bolts are a team I’ll be cheering for until the very end! Sophia Belle perfectly balances the high-stakes hockey action with hilarious teammate banter and deep emotional heart. I loved the "Easter eggs" for long-time fans and the way the secondary characters—especially Savi's protective brothers—add so much humor to the story. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions that will have you screaming, crying, and laughing all in the same chapter. If you love a hero who falls first and a heroine who is a total girl’s girl, you need this on your TBR immediately.
ARC Review – Shattered Bayside Bolts Book 1 Written by: Sophia Belle
Hockey romance? ✔️ Older brother’s best friend? ✔️ Forced proximity with unresolved feelings? ✔️✔️✔️
Say less. I’m in. 🏒🔥
Shattered kicks off the Bayside Bolts series with NHL captain Knox Stone heading back to his hometown to lead the Bayside Bolts. But this homecoming isn’t just about hockey glory. It’s about facing the ghosts he left behind - childhood trauma, painful memories… and the one woman he’s never been able to forget, his best friend's little sister.
Savannah Montgomery is strong, independent, and a dedicated veterinarian who’s also returned to Bayside after college. But the past doesn’t stay buried forever. The trauma she’s carried since her teen years still lingers in the shadows — and the only person who knows the full truth is the one man she shouldn’t want.
Knox is grumpy, guarded, and used to being in control on the ice - but Savi? She’s a feisty, resilient sunshine who isn’t afraid to challenge him. Their chemistry is immediate, their banter is sharp, and the tension from years of “we can’t” makes every stolen moment hit harder.
What I loved most was the emotional depth. This wasn’t just spice for the sake of spice (though don’t worry — it delivers 🌶️). It was about two people battling their darkness together. She needs him to help quiet her nightmares. He needs her to break down the walls he’s spent years building. Watching them grow - individually and together - made this story feel layered and satisfying.
Tropes you’ll love: 🏒 Brother’s best friend 🏒 Secret dating 🏒 Hockey captain x veterinarian 🏒 Grumpy / feisty sunshine 🏒 Forced proximity 🏒 Past trauma 🏒 Witty banter
⭐⭐⭐⭐.25 🌶️🌶️🌶️
If you love emotional hockey romances with depth, heat, and a protective captain who only let's his guard down for her, this one is perfect.
Head over heels for this read about a guy who is completely consumed by the girl he’s convinced himself he can’t have! It rocks the enemies to lovers trope, the spice is five alarm fire fabulous, it’s stalking in the sexiest way, and Knox absolutely slays you in the “she is my light there is nothing and no one good enough for her and NOTHING will ever hurt her again” department, I’m literally melting all over again just thinking about it. It’s best friend’s sister, childhood friends, a shared secret, a dark abusive past, guilt and need and reshape your whole world love, and it is fantastically written and a completely incredible. First Sophia Belle book and I am sad that I haven’t read her before because I absolutely loved this and ate it up like someone was trying to steal it from my hands. Knox is the hottest broken boy hockey player and Savi is not only his sunshine but fierce enough to love him the way he needs and I was so invested in everything about their story. The forced proximity is perfect, Knox gets traded to his hometown team and doesn’t have a place yet but his best friend will happily let him stay at the family beach house where the one girl Knox stays away from but is secretly totally obsessed with is also living at the moment, Savi. These two know how to push each others buttons, the secret about Savi’s past that they share is both a curse and another tie that binds them, and Savi propositioning Knox is like the gift he’s always craved but is ungodly terrified to be trusted with. Bottom line this read is about healing, about finally telling all your truths, including how much stalking has been going on, and about letting yourself love and be loved and as soon as Knox is all in, lord have mercy you are done for, because this broken boy loves hard and beautifully and I’m obsessed.
