Followed Back by Nicollé Noctis completely caught me off guard in the best way. What starts as a slow, almost methodical build quickly transforms into something intense, addictive, and impossible to put down 🥵. The premise alone is fascinating. A powerful, enigmatic man living a double life online and off, and the blurred lines between connection, control, and identity. Something I can relate to. The writing is sharp and immersive, pulling you deeper with every chapter. The pacing in the beginning takes its time, letting you settle into the characters and their world, but once it picks up, it really picks up. From that point on, it’s a whirlwind of tension, emotion, and twists that keep you hooked. Without giving too much away, this book explores darker themes in a way that feels gripping rather than gratuitous, and the psychological layers between the characters add so much depth to the story. It’s the kind of book that leaves you thinking long after you’ve finished. If you like dark romance with a suspenseful edge and morally complex characters, this one is absolutely worth the read. I am IMPATIENTLY refreshing my screen awaiting the announcement of part 2 😑🥰
I think I really liked this book cause of all the tech talk. I really enjoyed being in the mind of Adrian when it came to how he made his programs. Nova was a cute character, I loved how chaotic and just how she was like any normal girl. She had her quirks and things that made her, her. I loved how everything about her was overly pink and it was just great. I could fully relate to her and I loved that so much. Eli was such a funny character. He was so dramatic in the best ways and I love how protective of Nova he was. Their friendship was amazing. That ending?!?! Miss ma’am I need book two now!! The only reason I gave it 4 stars was I felt like there could have been more about a certain someone else so it would make more sense of why the ending happened the way it happened. But all in all I really enjoyed this book.
There’s just something about a spicy thriller mystery that gets me every time. Nova is a very cute and like-able character. She does live in pink and glitter fairytale land so her naïveté makes you wanna shake her sometimes. The girl has multiple stalkers AND won’t listen to gut feelings? Ugh come on girl! Eli may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I genuinely enjoyed reading about his and Nova’s friendship. There is so much love there. Now, Adrian. 😮💨 love me a dark and bloody man with slight stalker tendencies. The authors style of writing is really incredible. It’s so detailed without being overwhelming or repetitive. She does a great job of shattering the illusion of internet safety. Many of our lives are so open and available to anyone and everyone. And we make it that way in our false sense of security that we are ‘just another face in a sea of millions’. This story is a perfect example of how what you share tells people everything they need to know about you. I can’t wait for part 3 to come out!!

Once I started reading this, I couldn’t put it down. I thought I had everything figured out and then WHAM .. plot twist. I need the next book like YESTERDAY!!!!
I really enjoyed this book. It starts off slow. She has a crush on a Instagram famous guy. He doesn't follow anyone but starts following her and couple others. Posts start popping up on his page, mirroring hers. The story goes on from there. Its in two parts on KU so im reading the 2nd part now!! Definitely need to finish this part and go straight into the next because it ends on a cliffhanger.
I can’t wait to sink my teeth in to part two. I’d suggest anyone who likes unhinged, broody but soft-only-for-her MMC to give this one a try. You won’t regret it.
This was a quick, easy read because it was hard to put down. I feel like Nova's careless, clueless side is me lol. The cliffhanger makes me so glad I started this after Book 2 was written!
THIS IS SO GOOD. There were a couple of places where i felt like the story slowed down a smidge BUT the drama and craziness that happened in the second half really made up for it. This truly was a rollercoaster in the best way. I apologize for being sus of Eli the entire time. IN MY DEFENSE he was mothering everyone so hard it became suspicious in my mind lol. I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT PART AHHHHHH
This was a solid start to the story, but it took me a while to really get invested. For most of the book, I struggled to connect with the characters. I understood what was happening, but I never felt particularly attached to anyone, which made it harder for me to get fully immersed in the story. The social media/influencer aspect was interesting, though, and there was enough mystery and tension to keep me turning the pages. What really bumped this up for me was the ending. The final chapters had me much more engaged than the beginning, and I immediately wanted to know where the story was going next.
Luckily, Part 2 was already available because that cliffhanger would have been rough to sit with for long.
This book explores themes of autonomy, control, and the illusion of anonymity in an increasingly transparent digital world. Full of twists, turns, and romance, this debut novel is a must-read for fans of mystery and psychological thrillers.
Followed Back was so suspenseful, I couldn’t put it down! I enjoyed all the twists and turns. I can’t wait for book 2 because I still have so many questions!!
