"The Notes" by Brian Greene is one of my favorite short stories, period. I would put it next to Jim Carroll's "Curtis's Charm," Crad Kilodney's "Girl on the Subway," and Steve Lambert's "Tightrope Walkers" in a second. A truly great piece.
