Finding You is the second book in Amanda Michele’s Endless Love series. While it connects to Always You, it works well as a standalone. This is an emotional small-town romance about second chances and the lasting impact of the choices made as young adults.

The story follows Max Hayes and Olivia Wyatt. Max is the son of the couple from the first book, and I’ll admit I had a few déjà vu moments. The setup is similar: childhood friends who fall for each other as teens, drift apart, and later reconnect as adults. However, despite the familiar structure, Max and Olivia’s journey unfolds differently and carries its own weight.

Olivia’s backstory adds a deeper emotional pull. She grew up in an unstable home, something she kept hidden from everyone. That changed the moment Max, the boy next door, got an unexpected look into her reality. His reaction ended up turning her life upside down, at least from her perspective, and for a while she blamed him. Eventually she forgave him, and their friendship grew even stronger. As time passed, the lines between friendship blurred and something more began to blur, but just as their relationship deepened, Max made a life-altering decision that pushed them apart.

Fast forward eight years. Max returns home, now a famous country music artist, trying to heal and hoping to reclaim the love he lost.

Like Always You, this book unfolds in two timelines, and the transitions between past and present are smooth. Seeing their history laid out so clearly helps you understand the struggles they face as adults.

A clear theme in the series is that love relies on honest communication and real sacrifices. Max’s teenage choice was impulsive and immature, echoing the same mistake his mother made in the first book. At eighteen, he didn’t have the maturity to see how deeply his decision would impact Olivia. That parallel, mother and son making big decisions without involving the person they love, adds a meaningful generational layer to the story.

Overall, Finding You is a heartfelt story about young love, mistakes, forgiveness, and finding your way back to the person who feels like home. Fans of small-town romance and second-chance stories will appreciate the emotional depth of Max and Olivia’s journey. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

First of all, I am grateful that I was chosen to read this book in advance and I have become a huge fan of Amanda Michelle’s writing style. Although this is the second book in the series titled “Endless Love”, you can read each book independently. I truly loved how Amanda was able to intertwine both the past and the present timelines so efficiently that you can follow along perfectly with the plot of the book! I am always a huge fan of authors who can do this efficiently and I cannot wait to read the first book in the series too!

This is the story of Olivia, who has been hiding a secret from the world and wanting to ensure that she keeps everyone at a distance. That is, until she meets Max, her next door neighbor and starts to develop a friendship with him. However, she still tries to maintain her friendship with him without telling him what is really going on at home. Despite having an unstable home life and trying her best to take care of her mother, Olivia still finds some happiness in the world with her friendship with Max.

On the other hand, Max is also going through a tough time when he meets Olivia. He is doing his best to stay positive in life but addiction always takes over. However, his friendship with Olivia is what keeps him alive and hoping, even for a brief moment, that life can be better. When he finds out Olivia’s darkest secret, she is taken away from her mother and they lose touch when he moves away to LA. However, fate always has a way to ensure that if two people are destined to be together, they will always find a way to be together.

Without spoiling too much, this book truly took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride. There were moments where I would just tear up and want to hug both of them when they were children 🥹 The journey these two go through, separately and eventually together has you rooting for them from the start. Mistakes happen and the reason why this is a second chance romance novel is because despite everything that has happened, Max doesnt give up. Not when he knows that Olivia is the love of his life and he will do whatever he can to make up for his mistakes and prove to Olivia he is a changed man. I cannot be more proud of these two 🥹🙂‍↕️ Highly recommend it if you want to cry, laugh, and cheer for two people who deserve to be with each other ❤️

Finding you is the second book in the series and it follows Max and Olivia. For reference- Max was the son of the couple in the previous book. This book can be read as a standalone but I think it would be enjoyed more if you read both, as the characters in the previous book are in this story a good amount. I actually got this book as an ARC but wanted to read the previous book first and was glad to read that one as well!

This book is a slow burn. It starts off in the present but takes you back to them as they are growing up. I don’t typically love flashbacks. But this one was done in a way that I felt like really told the story and brought both their past and present together. I thought that they had great chemistry even as friends when they were kids. They just got eachother in a way that no one else did. And I really enjoyed seeing them grow into more as teens and then finding eachother again as adults.

While I loved this story- I just read the previous book always you right before I started it. So it was very fresh in my head and I just saw too many similarities between the two books. Both were couples who knew eachother as children, both FMC’s had a rough childhood filled with neglect. Both finally came together as teens only to be broken apart and find themselves back in each other’s lives as adults. Both books were great, don’t get me wrong. But after just reading the other book there were times where it almost felt like I was reading it again. I also had a hard time with Max’s addiction. I can see how a famous singer would fall into that, but knowing max from the previous book as a kid and seeing him in his early and teen years and even as an adult I just had a hard time believing that he would have gone down that path. Maybe if we had a little more of a backstory about what got him into the opioids and how it started. But I just had a little bit of a hard time connecting to that part of the story.

Thanks to from Happily Booked for the ARC of this book- this is my honest review.

I received this book as an ARC for a fair and honest review. #happilybookedpr #amichelle
Finding you is the 2nd in the series, following Max and Olivia. Max is the son of the couple from the first book. This book can be read as a standalone because it does touch on what happened in the first book. I will be going back to read it myself, because it definitely is my type of book.
This is a slow burn type of romance. There are a lot of flashbacks that take you back to the first and second times he broke her trust. I loved the chemistry they had and the conversations and banter was great. They understood each other in a way that no one else did could have.
I haven’t yet read the first one, there is enough conversation and background given to indicate that this story is very similar: knowing the other as children, rough childhoods yet in different ways, broken apart by life, find each other again later.
My biggest issue was the addictions Max suffered. He truly knew Olivia better, sometimes, than she knew herself. So it stands to reason that he would have know how his going down that road would make her feel, what it would mean to her. I know it was probably to come full circle on the living your dreams aspect because she had to care for him, so she recognizes what her dream really is, but it just felt wrong given the issues with her mom.
Then there is just so much regret and heartbreak. From both of them, yes, but it bothered me a lot that his parents, having gone through something similar AND seeing how in love they were, wouldn’t have tried to help. There had to have been a way to make it work…not easily, no, but possible. He could have tried, and chose not to, breaking yet another promise, and confirming her fears, knocking her self-worth down again.

But the ending was worth it. So if you also enjoy second chances, small towns, slow burn, HS love and beyond, then I definitely recommend.

Where do I even begin? I’ve been waiting patiently for this story to come into my life & was prepared for it to melt my heart and pull at all those strings as its predecessor did (Always You). But what I found was a story that cracked something in my soul and gave me back a piece of my heart that was out there, fighting to find my own you 💙

There are only so many books that take up that special place in my heart & I have read oh so many wonderful books, but Finding You has taken up residence in my soul and it has its way to my fave reads of this year, no question!

Max & Liv are so relatable and yet so unique. They’re two halves of one soul, destined to find each other but also lose one another as life steps in to remind them & me of what it was like when I was 16, and then 18 and then 26 going through those same emotions. Your 1st love never leaves you and if you’re very lucky sometimes you get to keep it. Most of the time you loose it’s slippery hands as the inevitability of the worlds comes crushing in. People always leave Peyton said in OTH (if you know you know) and I have that quote tattooed on my arm. Being left behind and feeling that abandonment is crushing; most days it’s impossible to even believe that one day maybe that one person will come back or just come, never to leave.

Though not in the same ways I have been where Liv is, sometimes even where Max was as I navigated life alone, wishing upon a star that someday my best friend will come rescue me & love me forever. I’m still waiting but I now he’s out there.

Going through all these impossible circumstances gave these two the opportunity to rewrite their story, create something new and everlasting, something true. This story tells us what it’s like to find love with family, with strangers who care for you and the ones you choose to stand by your side.

This book will Always Find me & im lucky that I get to be a part of your world Amanda. So thank you for finding me 💙

Max and Olivia

We get where they were…
We get where they are…

So much heartbreak and regret.
Those flashbacks are heartbreaking, not only because Liv has faced so much difficulty in her life, but based on the opening chapters, there’s still more coming.

It didn’t paint Max in a very flattering light, and it would appear that his teenage actions pretty much carried into adulthood.
This particular ‘it’s always been you’ trope is so well done… IF (and that’s a BIG IF), he wasn’t a man-ho sleeping his way through the entire country. So, based on the interactions for most of the book, I was actually rooting for Olivia and Nate. Max’s actions then (and now) totally contradict what his inner thoughts are saying, and after everything Liv went through, she needs someone who chooses her fully, instead of just every now and then.
I was all but in tears when it was all revealed, and even then, I was hoping for anyone but Max. I know many see it as romantic and a big sacrifice. But I saw it as selfish. He could have tried, and chose not to, breaking yet another promise, and confirming her fears.

I wish that there were more of a confrontation about his leaving. There were moments during the book that I thought there would be a huge confrontation, and he actually got dragged over the coals. But unfortunately, there was a whole storyline that was designed to make him sympathetic, so it was glossed over in bits and pieces, until finally, there was one confrontation where she finally let rip, and I just wish it was bigger.

That being said, I couldn’t tear myself away from this story. It’s a story that will reel you in and destroy you. Just because I didn’t like the MMC’s actions, and I feel that there were a few areas that should (or could) have been addressed in full (his addiction, and the other women…)

Finding You by Amanda Michelle is one of those stories that quietly pulls you in and completely captures your heart. From the very beginning I felt deeply connected to Max and Olivia and their journey together. This book is emotional, nostalgic, and beautifully written.

Max Hayes returning home after eight years as a country superstar already sets up a powerful storyline, but what truly makes this book special is the history between him and Olivia. Their connection goes all the way back to their teenage years, and the author does an amazing job showing how their friendship slowly grows into something deeper. Watching their young love unfold through the highs and heartbreaks of growing up made the story feel incredibly real.

Olivia is such a touching character. She carries the weight of a painful past and has built strong walls around her heart to protect herself. Seeing those walls slowly begin to crack when she lets Max in was both heartbreaking and beautiful. Max is the kind of character you cannot help but root for. Even with fame and success, his heart never truly left the girl he loved when he was eighteen.

Amanda Michelle does a wonderful job weaving together the past and present, allowing readers to experience their journey from innocent beginnings to the complicated realities of adulthood. The story is emotional without feeling heavy, and the love between these two characters feels genuine and deeply rooted.

If you love second chance romance, first love stories, and emotional small town romances that stay with you long after the last page, Finding You is absolutely worth the read. This was a five star book for me and one I will definitely be recommending to other romance lovers.

This book had me hooked from the very first page.

Max’s opening line alone pulled me in — and from there, I wasn’t prepared for how deeply invested I would become in his and Olivia’s story.

Their relationship is the definition of “right person, wrong time”… over and over again.

Watching their childhood friendship turn into love, only to be broken by choices that were meant to protect each other, was honestly heartbreaking. And what made it worse? You understand why Max made those choices — even when you’re frustrated with him.

Olivia’s story hit just as hard. Growing up in an unstable home, losing her mom, and then losing Max… you can feel how much she carries with her. The way she loves is so deep, but it’s also what makes her hurt the most.

And then there’s the present timeline — Max struggling with addiction, trying to become someone worthy of her again. That part felt raw and real.

Also… Noah?? Easily one of my favorite side characters ever. His scenes brought so much light into such a heavy story.

I will say — this book is LONG and very detailed. There were moments where I felt like I had already lived an entire lifetime with these characters before even reaching halfway.

But the emotional payoff at the end made it worth it.

This story is about:

first love
second chances
addiction and recovery
grief and healing
and choosing someone again, even after everything
And honestly? I felt every single bit of it.

Finding You by Amanda Michelle is an emotional and captivating romance that beautifully blends heartbreak, healing, and the power of second chances. From the very first chapters, the story pulls you into this journey about overcoming a painful past and begins to rediscover herself. The balance between darker, more serious themes and a heartfelt romance keeps the narrative compelling and hard to put down.

The characters feel authentic and well developed, especially the connection between the main characters. Their relationship unfolds naturally, making every moment between them meaningful and believable. The author does a great job of weaving together love, family, and personal growth, creating a story that is both uplifting and emotionally resonant.

What really stands out is how the book combines intense emotional moments with hope and warmth. The pacing keeps you invested, and the storyline offers enough twists and heartfelt scenes to keep readers turning pages late into the night. Fans of contemporary romance will especially appreciate the mix of drama, tenderness, and the theme of starting over.

Overall, Finding You is a beautifully written, engaging read that delivers both emotional depth and a satisfying romantic journey. A must read for anyone who enjoys stories about resilience, love, and finding happiness after hardship.

Every single book Amanda Michelle has written i have devoured and loved! This one was no different.

From the very beginning I was pulled into Olivia’s story. The journey felt emotional, real, and easy to connect with. Her strength, vulnerability, and determination made her such a compelling character to follow.

Max was a fantastic male lead — complex, passionate, and deeply devoted in his own way. The chemistry between Olivia and Max was incredible, and their connection carried so much emotion throughout the story.

What I loved most was the depth of the characters and the way the book explored love, growth, and following your dreams. The romance felt heartfelt and meaningful, and I found myself completely invested in their journey.

If you love an emotional second chance romance with strong characters and a powerful connection between the main couple, this is definitely a must read. I didn’t want it to end!

After reading always you i knew i had to read finding you as soon as it released!

From the first page I was hooked, not just because i loved Max and Olivia, but because seeing Brynn and Tyler happy and being the parents they 100% deserve to be after the emotional ending to their book was everything i needed and more.

I love Brynn and Olivias relationship. She became for Olivia what Tyler's mam was for her, and i think that is such a special thing, especially when you add in the additional understanding Brynn has with Olivias situation.

Max, where to even start. Seeing how similar he is to Tyler is amazing.

I love the parallels between finding you and always you. From the window scenes, to the same guitar, to her being a part of the family with or without him there. I absolutely adore these stories, and i really hope the series continues as id love to get to know the other characters we've met!

My Review 🌸

Some of my most favorite books have been written by Amanda Michelle. I was obsessed with her first book, Always You. Which was actually the first ARC I ever received! And now, her second book in the Endless Love series, Finding You, has released! While it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading them in order.

Finding You follows Max (the son of the FMC in the first book), and his friend and neighbor, Olivia, both in present day, and in the past. And I love how this is set up because we get to see where the MC's are at currently in their life, and experience the long journey they took to get to where they are now, and how they move forward.

Immediately, this book pulls you in and keeps you wanting to know and read more. This book had me feeling all of the feels, right alongside the characters. It is such an emotional second-chance romance, and I always love the characters that Amanda Michelle writes. They feel raw, real, and you could truly feel the connection that Max and Olivia had with each other, both throughout their childhood, and as adults. It wasn't surface level, or insta-love, but had true depth and complexity to their relationship, and it felt genuine.

If you love a good romance story that sits and lingers with you long after you've finished reading, I highly recommend Finding You, or any of Amanda Michelle's books!

Wow… this book was so good. It was incredibly emotional, and I felt like I could truly connect with the characters the entire time. There’s very minimal spice, but honestly, the story didn’t need it at all—the plot carried everything perfectly.

The story follows Olivia, starting at just 9 years old, and her situation is absolutely heartbreaking. She’s dealing with a very unstable home life, coming home to a mother who is struggling and trying her best to take care of her. Because of this, Olivia keeps to herself, but she eventually meets Max—her neighbor—who clearly has his own struggles too.

For such a young girl, Olivia is very observant, which made her character feel even more real. When Max discovers her secret, everything changes, and she’s taken away from her mom. Life pulls them apart when Max moves to LA, but fate brings them back together years later during their final year of school. Just when things seem to fall into place, he leaves again—and this time, it completely shatters her.

The details in this story were so well done. I felt completely immersed from beginning to end, and the emotions hit hard in the best way.

Finding You is an emotional second-chance romance about Max and Olivia, two people whose lives were once deeply intertwined but ended up going in very different directions.

Max is a famous musician struggling with fame and his own personal demons, while Olivia has built a quiet life in their hometown. When Max returns home, old memories and unresolved feelings start resurfacing.

What I really liked about this book was the history between the characters. Their connection felt real because you get to see how their story began and how life shaped them over the years.

Overall, it’s a story about healing, growth, and finding your way back to the people who truly see you.

I totally recommend, thank you to the author for this ARC✨

Finding You is book 2 in the Endless Love series. I have not read book 1 and I definitely do not feel that anything was missing, as they appear to be quite different timelines.
I loved how this book went between the past and current and also had the different points of view of the main characters. At some points I did feel that the book spent too much time in the past and I just wanted to know what was happening now. However, I appreciate that we did need to understand the back story, to be able to fully understand why the characters chose the options that they did.
This book had everything but Finding You will suit those who love a second chance small town romance. Especially one with a slow burn with a touch of high school love.
There are themes of addiction throughout.

I have never read anything by Amanda Michelle before, OMG this was fantastic; this is book two in The Endless Love series. Max Hayes falls for his next door neighbor Olivia Wyatt; you watch their childhood friendship turn into love. Max leaves to pursue his music, he is America's Heartthrob. The all American good boy next door. He returns eight years later, but things aren't the same. Olivia has a guarded dark secret, but it is discovered, and she is taken from her mother!! But why? Max deals with addiction, can Olivia help him? Olivia believes she is not enough for Max anymore. Is she? Can they work through their difficulties? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Amanda Michelle!!!

Max and Olivia’s journey felt so real and emotional. What made it especially powerful was the way the book moved between past and present.

Olivia's childhood was tough, and the walls she built around her heart made sense, but watching her slowly open up again was both heartbreaking and beautiful. Max, despite his fame and struggles, never stopped carrying feelings for her, and that devotion made him such a compelling lead.

The writing captured the nostalgia of first love while also showing the challenges of second chances. The slow burn worked perfectly here. Even the heavier themes, like addiction and heartbreak, were handled with care, making the story feel grounded and authentic.

Overall I enjoyed this book, but there was a couple things that I didn’t overly care for. First of all , was the fact that the 9 year old kids talking like they are way older. Yes I understand they have been through traumatic scenarios which matured them beyond their years but their thought processes and conversations seemed a way too mature for their age. Secondly, there were so many similarities and parallel experiences that are the same from the first book in this series.
That being said, I did enjoy the most of the book. I really loved that the book showed glimpses of Brynn and Tyler’s life together after their book Always You concluded.

Max and Olivia were high school sweethearts turned second chance romance (a trope we love). I loved the dual timeline because it allowed me to see them grow and their struggles throughout life. I was so emotionally involved in their story and couldn’t put it down. There’s no spice but honestly it’s not really needed.

I did not read the first book in this series, I jumped straight in and I felt like I didn’t miss anything. It reads like a standalone, however, obviously there are things missing that I don’t know are missing. Definitely going back and reading book 1!

I fell in love with Max and Olivia from the very beginning. He left her behind to pursue his dreams. That wasn’t an easy decision. Especially since they’d had so much history, since childhood. But when he came back, Omgosh, it was amazing. I knew how they felt. I had a crush on the neighbor boy when I was 8, but I moved away and never saw him again. Many years went by and I found him. Now we have our happy ending. This was such a beautiful story about these two and the way they reconnected. Absolutely loved it.

I received an ARC of Finding You by Amanda Michelle. I really enjoyed this book. I love a good dual timeline storyline and I could not put this book down. The story shows the beautiful connection the MMCs had and the struggles they face through the years , the choices that were made and how they overcome them, always finding each other in the end. A true it’s “always been you” story and overall great read.

I read Always You (book 1) over a year ago and it completely destroyed me so I was sooo READY for this one! Cue the lies, I was in fact not ready 🤣😭

I absolutely adored Max and Olivia’s story. Amanda writes characters so beautifully I just can’t get enough. I ate up the dual timeline (one of my favorite things ever) and loved that Olivia didn’t immediately give into Max as soon as he walked into town. This is one hell of a slowwwwww burn, just how I like it! 😍

I also absolutely loved learning more about Max’s siblings and the cameos from his parents 🫶🏻

This was my first read from Amanda Michelle, and wow… it was so good!

Olivia was such a strong, unforgettable character. Everything she had to endure the loss, the heartbreak, the weight she carried felt so real. I was completely invested in her journey from start to finish.

Max went through so much as well. The pressure of his fame and everything he faced alongside Olivia and his family was truly heartbreaking. But what really got me was that his love for Olivia never faded. Watching him fight for her, even after all those years, was so powerful.

Seeing both Olivia and Max grow, heal, and find their strength again was incredibly emotional. Their story just pulled me in and didn’t let go.

This was an all-around amazing read. I’m so grateful I got the chance to read it early, I’m officially a fan now!

The emotional turmoil from this book will stick with me for awhile.
Olivia and Max were first loves. When life intervened and they went their separate ways.
Olivia's life was anything but smooth, but Max was her constant.
After 8 yrs Max is back.

The 9-10 year old storyline was odd to me. I don’t know many 9–10 year olds having such deep thoughts and observations. I understood the point was to drive home the history the two main characters had but it seemed contrived.
I loved the other two timelines, teenage years and today. I truly enjoyed this story and legit did not know how it would end.

Max is struggling with fame and finds himself heading down the self destruction path until his mom calls him back home and he’s hit with reality, the struggles of not fitting in with his family from being gone so long and feeling disconnected, Olivia’s been holding down the fort at The Dock and running the shows for the town, finally moving on until a certain someone finds himself perched on a stool at her restaurant. And well I guess we can start thinking of what happens from here 🤭
