DO NOT DISTURB is a chilling psychological thriller about confinement, manipulation, and the thin line between endurance and madness. Perfect for readers who love gaslighting suspense, unreliable narrators, and stories where nothing—and no one—can be trusted.
Would you enter a chance to win $6 million just by exchanging your time for 30 days in a hotel completely isolated from the outside world. Sounds easy, of course. But not when you’re using it as an escape after watching your ex-husband murder his coworker. Rachel spirals into a complete psychological breakdown as our days begin to blur reminiscing on past events she slowly begins to lose herself. The tension builds perfectly in this thriller, leaving you to wonder what the hell is about to happen. Is what is happening to her new reality or is it just all in her head? Who knows. But is it worth 6 million to you? Highly recommend do not disturb.
Ooo this one messes with your head in the best way 😵💫 Wow! Nadija Mujagic delivers a mind-bending, mind-blowing psychological thriller that constantly keeps you guessing. The tension builds as paranoia sets in, and just when you think you understand what’s happening, everything shifts. Make sure you read this before deciding whether you would accept the challenge because it may not be as simple as you think.
DO NOT DISTURB BY MY BEAUTIFUL AMAZING FRIEND NADIJA MUJAGIC. Release day set for the 19th of February 2026. Absolutely 5 huge ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨s. From the very beginning of this book I had anxiety and it stayed with me throughout the book and I love that it made me feel that way. Such an amazing pageturner and you really just want to keep reading to find out where its going and what on God's green earth is going on. The pacing was spot on and the Intensity built up perfectly. Loving the names Rachel Browning and Felecia Mebane I started this book this afternoon and I'm finished it all ready. That says alot about this book. I think this book is Nadijas best book to date. I recommend this book to everyone. Add it to your TBR immediately.💚
A Chilling, Claustrophobic Psychological Thriller!
“I just need someone—anyone—to check on me. But no one comes. The silence presses in like a weight, and I can’t tell anymore if it’s the room or my mind closing in on itself.” ~Do Not Disturb by Nadija Mujagic.
Rachel is a 32-year-old newly divorced woman. Once accustomed to residing in an upscale community, she’s now in a small rundown apartment, jobless and painfully aware of her dwindling bank account. The answer to her problems lands in her mailbox when she receives a handwritten invitation to earn $6M. She applies for the opportunity and is accepted. All she needs to do is stay inside a luxurious hotel room for 30 days. Pfft! Easy peasy, right? If it was, it definitely wouldn’t be the fantastic 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ psychological thriller that can only come from Nadija Mujagic!
Rachel arrives, is escorted to her room, and quickly the line blurs between perception and reality as she forfeits control and begins questioning everything she sees and remembers.
To read this novel is to be thrust into the intense doubt, anxiety and panic born from self-imposed isolation under strict rules and restrictions. But the novel is more than just moments of terror. The main characters’ internal volatility and distorted perceptions made ME question what was really happening! The plot is original, clever, and filled with psychological suspense and twists! The multi-POV construct (with a year time difference) is told in short, fast-paced, chapters. And I’m STILL absorbing the ending. Do Not Disturb NEEDS to be moved up your TBR Short List!
***I received an advance reader copy from the author via BookFunnel. These opinions are my own.***
I read this as an ARC and omg! I would not go through all this for $6 million but then again, it turned out to be twisty and jaw dropping to say the least on the turn of events happened! Definitely recommend this book when it’s released!!
Nadija Mujagic has written another fast-paced thriller. There is a past and present timeline, which I always appreciate in my books. Nadija wrote the book in a way that has you questioning if you were in Rachel's shoes. How would you handle 30 days in isolation.
Could you spend 30 days in isolation and no contact with the outside world for $6million? Rachel thought it was going to be easy. Then the rules keep changing.
This was an astonishing thriller! I absolutely could not stop reading, I avoided chores because I had to know what would happen! Nerve wracking in the way we love with thrillers and a very unexpected twist!! A must read. I’d give ten stars if I could.
Do Not Disturb by Nadija Mujagic 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Wow!!!! This is one of the most unique and exciting psychological thriller books I’ve ever read!!!
This story is filled with twists, turns and so much excitement and suspense! The premise of the story is fantastic, and as a reader I went into the book already feeling eager about reading it! The intensity of the story never lets up!!! I did not want to stop reading, as it is so engaging and left my mind spinning!!! It’s very well written and super entertaining!
The story has dual timelines with multiple POV. Rachel Browning, who is newly divorced, is trying to rebuild her life when a mysterious offer comes her way. She is presented with an unbelievable $6 million to stay in a hotel for 30 days. There are a few simple rules she has to follow in order to receive this phenomenal payout. Rachel figures this money would change her whole life and how hard could 30 days really be?
Felicia Mebane and her husband are living a happy life, until one day Felicia feels she has witnessed a possible murder. This turns things upside down.
There are several places in the story where my jaw dropped and I was floored at what I was reading!!! I was completely guessing up until the end of the book! The thrills and entertaining storyline doesn’t let up through the entire book, and my mind was all over the place with guesses, that I never got right.
Nadija Mujagic is an absolute must read author!! I’ve been so lucky to be an alpha reader for her. It’s amazing to read these creative and outstanding stories she puts together.
This book comes out February 19th, and is an absolute must read!! *Run to grab this book!!!*
I couldn’t wait to read this book so I started it late at night on release day, thinking I could just read a few chapters and then go to sleep. Wrong! It’s exciting from the very first chapter. If it weren’t for adult responsibilities getting in the way, I could have read this in one sitting.
The challenge: Spend 30 days in a luxury hotel with no phone or connection to the outside world. You can bring necessities and five books. At the end of the challenge you walk away with 6 million dollars.
My first thought…5 books for 30 days? Only 5? Which books would I take? They would have to be long books but then that rules out psychological thrillers which is disappointing and then I realised…no one offered me this challenge so why am I stressing about it?
Anyway, the main character accepts the challenge and doesn’t take any books with her!!! What?!? I already know we are nothing alike. The more I read the more this becomes apparent. It’s an easy challenge, why is she making it so hard?!
All that aside, this was a great book. I went in blindly and right from the first chapter I hooked and it was so hard to put down. The couple of times indie authors were mentioned made me laugh. Obviously the author has a great sense of humour.
Nadija Mujagic is one of my favourite authors and I look forward to reading more by her.
Would YOU accept this offer? Six million dollars to spend 30 days in a Motel. By yourself. No phone, computer, visitors, music, or clock. Just books and magazines?
Rachel Browning was broke and alone. She had nothing to lose, right?
Except her sanity....
The challenge changes, as do the rules. Rachel's mental health spirals. She starts to imagine things. The people in charge become scary and ambivalent to her needs. Days blur into nights. Nightmares from the past haunt her.
Will she last the 30 days???
This book deeply explores the mind, especially when reality and imagination are indistinguishable. A mind-blowing thriller full of gaslighting and paranoia. It gave ME anxiety, which never really let up, I was fully invested in this book. WTF was I reading?
The intensity built up throughout and stayed until the end. A very unique story that pulled me right into it.
The Mind is very powerful indeed!!!!
Thanks Nadija, my 14th book of yours, and I have loved every one of them. Your writing is extremely deep, descriptive, and enabled me to 'feel'. I honestly thought that spending 30 days in isolation with just books - for six million dollars - would be 'heaven' lol.
So Rachel has gone through a divorce. Things could definitely be better for her. But hey, things start looking up when she see an advertisement for an opportunity to win 6 million bucks. Just have to agree to stay alone and disconnected for 30 days. Easy peasy right? Matter of fact—too easy.
Rachel sends in her video just for funsies cause this is obvious bull. But she gets a call and an invite. Curious, she goes along with it. Josh—the organizer—seems a little off from jump. Things all around seem off. But hey. How bad could it be? Well let me tell you, I am now thinking of so many little things in my life I take for granted.
This story has me still feeling a little on edge. The way Nadija is able to make you feel so darn uncomfortable with such mundane things as not having a clock. Who knew that could drive you nuts? Do Not Disturb was crazy thrilling throughout its entirety. It really took me out of my comfort zone and had me questioning anything I thought might be real. Give it a go. I’m willing to bet you’ll love it.
Rachel is used to the finer things in life that her husband (Roger) could provide, she has limited working experience since her husband always took care of everything. They divorced and he left her with nothing. She’s struggling financially and mentally. She receives an offer that she can’t refuse and receive 6 million dollars for completing the challenge. The only rules are no phone/internet. Slowly the rules change. Can she complete the challenge?
Feleca and Roger are married. He is always spoiling her and treating her to a whatever she wants. Eventually he breaks the news that he can’t keep affording her this lifestyle and it seems that triggers some trauma from when she was a kid.
I thought I had this figured out, but I did not. Be prepared to read it in no time, just to get answers! I had anxiety for Rachel so be prepared to have it too!
I read this as an alpha reader and provided early feedback; this review reflects my honest opinions.
This book stressed me out in the best way.
Do Not Disturb follows a woman who agrees to stay in a hotel room for 30 days — no phone, no contact, no outside world — in exchange for six million dollars. What starts as isolation quickly turns into something far more sinister.
The gaslighting in this book is intense. I genuinely felt like I was losing my mind alongside the protagonist. The short chapters keep the tension high, and the story wastes no time pulling you into the chaos.
I read this in a day and a half because I had to know what was going on. This is my second book by Nadija Mujagik, and she’s quickly becoming an author I trust for anxiety-inducing psychological thrillers.
Highly recommend if you like claustrophobic, mind-bending reads.
The premise of Do Not Disturb by Nadija Mujagic is a great hook that interested me at first, but the execution didn't live up to the idea. The concept of a thirty-day isolation challenge is interesting enough to start with, but the book started off slow and became a bit of a bore. While I was genuinely curious about Roger’s story, the plot spends most of its time on Rachel, who is a very bland character with no real personality. Because Rachel’s arc takes up so much of the book, it makes the story feel slow and a tedious. The tension also takes a hit because I guessed part of the twist pretty early on. The rest of the reveal was fine, but it wasn't anything very intriguing.
Do Not Disturb was such an exciting and fast-paced read that I genuinely could NOT put it down! 🔥📖
From the very beginning, the story kept pulling me in and I had to keep reading because I needed to know what was going to happen next. The suspense was nonstop, and the twists had me fully hooked.
Rachel (FMC) makes a decision for the money… and let me just say—what happens after that is something you would NEVER expect. 😳💥
This book was thrilling, intense, and completely satisfying from start to finish. If you love books that keep you on edge and make you fly through the pages, this one is a MUST.
3.5 stars. This one was good-lots of twists and turns. Didn’t give it higher stars because I was able to put it down and come back the next day easily. I like books that keep me up reading until I fall Asleep due to exhaustion! This was my favorite quote from the book though and I still really enjoyed the book
“It’s a strange thing. When you’re alone by choice, solitude feels like freedom. You can seek company or avoid it whenever you want. But when that choice is taken away, the desire for connection multiplies. What we can’t have is always what we want most.”
Makes you think—for $6 million—could I isolate myself in a hotel room for 30 days?
I really enjoyed this one! I thought I had everything figured out early on, but wow… I did not. The twists were so well done and honestly surprised me. It’s one of those books where you think you’re ahead of the story, but you’re not. Every time I felt confident about what was happening, something shifted and made me question everything. It kept me hooked the whole way through and I couldn’t wait to see how it would all come together. Such a solid psychological thriller that definitely keeps you guessing.
Oh my goodness. This book gave me so much anxiety reading it. Rachel accepts a challenge to spend 30 days in a hotel room with no connection with the outside world to win $6 million. She accepts the challenge, because she just got divorced and she's broke. But things don't go as well as expected. So much happens in one room -- gaslighting, questioning, fearing for her life. And the twists are just insane! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book!
I was hooked right from the start. As a mom, I would jump at the chance to do nothing but read, eat, and sleep for 30 days. So as I read she was offered 6 million dollars to spend a month in a hotel with no outside contact for 30 days, I would've jumped on that opportunity. But what would you do if you start seeing things? Hearing things? I don't know where Nadija drew her inspiration for this story, but this was a nice, fun, twisty ride that I just couldn't put down.
Such a mind twisted thrill. This story was fast paced and disturbing to say the least. With each turn of the page you get pulled in. The multi pov’s were wonderfully crafted and had me on the edge. I loved how the story makes you think what would you do if you were offered 6 million to isolate yourself. This one is an absolute nail bitter that’ll have you questioning your daily life choices after you’re done reading it.
Thank you Nadija Mujagic for the eARC. This review is that of my own.
Wow, wow, wow! Want to read a psychological thriller that has your head turning wondering what's happening next? Then this is your next read! Rachel Browning gets the chance to win six million to stay in a hotel for 30 days. Only there are rules to follow that make it harder and harder by the day. The twist and turns make it a nail biter for sure. Thanks to Nadija for letting me be part of her ARC team. Can't wait for your next book!
Don not Disturb is definitely disturbing, in all the right ways! It’s a psych thriller that grabs you and doesn’t let go! I mean how hard would it be to spend 30 days in a hotel room without a computer or your phone, easy right, or maybe not! A thriller that will show you if it is or isn’t and is it really just what it seems or is something else going on! Great book, awesome charecters who are all vital to this story! Loved it!
I’ve read many books by Nadija Mujagic and have enjoyed them all, so I was excited to read this one. The premise of the story is unique and well executed: spend 30 days in a hotel completely isolated from everything for six million dollars. It was very well written, and I felt so bad for Rachel both before and during her isolation. I read it all in one sitting and highly recommend checking it out. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 stars.
Would you spend 30 days in a hotel room with no phone, no internet, no contact with the outside world for $6 million?
Going between different narrators and timelines made for perfect suspense-building. Rachel begins to question what is real and what is not. With a big nod to PTSD and surviving trauma from childhood you begin to understand how fragile the human mind is.
I can't believe this is the first book I read by this author, but I will certainly be reading more.
This was a very disturbing story, not in a bad way. There are two timelines and two points of view. An invitation to spend 30 days alone at The Four Seasons Hotel in Boston for 6 million dollars sounds too good to be true. And when something that good happens, the winner is in for a twisted reality. It was so intense and claustrophobic I could feel what was happening as if it was happening to me. I enjoyed the book and recommend it.
This started out as such a fun thriller, and it felt very unique. It was intriguing. And the characters were terrible, in a really good way. The short chapters kept me locked in. I wasn’t a fan of how things wrapped up, and it was a letdown for the 2nd half of the book for me. I realized pretty early on what direction the book was heading in, and I predicted the main twists that were thrown near the end. Overall, this book was just okay for me.
Nadija Mujagic masterfully blends emotion with psychological tension, constantly blurring the line between reality and imagination. The deeper you go, the more you start questioning the character’s mental state. It keeps you second-guessing everything right up until the very end. Unsettling, gripping, and impossible to put down.
DO NOT DISTURB had me disturbed the entire book. My anxiety was at an all time high the entire time. I would love the chance to win $6 million, but some things…are not negotiable. The twists in this book had me ready for each new twist to come! The steady flow of the book was very nice! I would recommend this book (I was an ARC reader).
