A lovely story with both fascinating characters & in depth historical values
Well done to you Annie on a wonderful, well-written tale. These two characters in particular are so different from many we regularly read of. They fit so well and simply “get” each other. The detail of planning throughout the time in the cabin is both fascinating and thorough. This isn’t some young, immature romance. The added spice is nice and tastefully done. Definitely recommended
4 stars. This was my favorite book in the series. Aiden and Kiona are such great characters and I loved their romance a lot. Super sweet and great spice. I liked their chemistry. Yes, it’s insta-love but I completely bought into it. There’s also some forced proximity which I’m a big fan of as the two get caught up in a storm. This was great.
Two competent women, an avalanche and native history The Sacred Peaks series features strong, competent women who fall in love. This time it‘s Aiden, the non-binary firefighter, and Kiona, a native archaeologist. Aiden accompanies Kiona to help preserve a new historical monument in the middle of winter and both get trapped in a small cabin. The setting was very realistic and to see two competent women survive - no damsel in distress in sight - was a great experience. I really loved to learn about the native history of Sacred Peaks: Wiest sneaks in interesting tidbits of how people lived in harmony with the land long before colonization started. Can‘t wait for the next book!
Kiona is an uncertain as to what make of the beautiful firefighter Aiden in front of her.
Does she smack her or kiss her? Or vice or versa? Tit for tat? Whatever unfolds someone is going to be on the bottom! Does not help that Aiden wanted to kiss her when they met! Things come to head when they have to rush to a cabin with one bed while being buried with snow. Things improve?! Four days together in a single bed and just enough food to not starve. Enjoy!
This is the 4th in the series. I have read them all and really love the storyline’s and how they are knitted together. Annie West is a wonderful storyteller and am looking forward to more of Sacred Peaks Ranch life.
This was gorgeous blending the science of archeology and the health and safety of the fire fighter. I loved the nod to the ancient wisdom of the indigenous peoples and the connection with the land. Indeed Sacred Peaks. A great title for book 4 Annie Wiest
