Mystery, Suspense and Domestic Discipline in Menton
This is a page turner story with delightful characters and witty dialogue. You can't help but fall in love with the town, even the busy-bodies. When the townspeople of Menton adopt you as one of their own, they embrace you . Paranormal Romance Writer, Mabel Wainwright has decided to leave the city in the North and go South to write her next book and picks the quaint town of Menton. She needs to get a feel for the new characters because she is changing from Vampires to Werewolves. Talk about a change, she doesn't realize when she picked Menton, that this town and their men enforce Domestic Discipline and that includes even temporary guest as herself. Sheriff Will Bates has demanded to the town he will be the "minder" to Maebelle, as he calls her, having remembered her from college. Mabel accepts the terms that the Sheriff lays out for her along with what she considers silly rules, after all, she is used to being on her own in a big city, this is the country. You can't help but fall in love with the town and its people who are polite and courteous, the men are dominate. One thing about living in a small southern town, everyone knows everyone else's business and news travels fast. What happens when Will learns that Mabel isn't working on her book and is being threatened with breach of contract?

3 1/2 - 4 This is about a writer that moves to a small town in the south to get
her creative juices going. Mabel discovers what a small world it is when she
runs into Will, the town sheriff. He is the same Will that she knew in college.
This was a well written story with lots of twists and turns to keep you interested.
Not only must Mabel adjust to life in a small town, but her past comes back to haunt her.

There were spankings that were deserved with belt, hand, and cane and switch. Some were severe and made me squirm.
Will is a bit controlling, but it was done under the blanket of keeping her safe.
Mabel is a bit of a scatter brained writer that needs motivation and guidance. She also gets so involved
in her writing that she doesn't consider risks to her safety. It is a good thing
that Will is there to protect her. It had a happy ending. There were no sex scenes except for hugging and kissing. There are a few harsh scenes and the town as a whole is based on DD so you would expect a more severe taken to task. The switching scenes seemed a bit over the top. Mabel didn't seem to mind all the DD after never having had a spanking before. There were a few unanswered questions about her old boyfriend also, but overall it was a good quick read.

OK, it’s not often a story makes me cry, but this one does. Will is the sheriff in a small town in the South named Menton. Mabel is an author who has rented a house to write her next book. Menton has a few old-fashioned customs. The biggest one we must mention is that every woman must have some male who is responsible for her. So, Will, who knows Mabel from college fights to be the man responsible for her. Will calls her Maebelle and frequently tells her to “Mind me, Mae!” Through all this Mae and Will fall in love. The way he cares for did make me cry a few times. Also, I need to let you know that the discipline in this story is pretty severe. Deserved, but severe. I give this story 5 stars! Go out and buy it!

Mabel has come to town to write her new book and lands herself in a situation she wasn't quite prepared for. But there is Will who she knew when a college Freshman and wasn't prepared for the fact that he liked her even then. But as she adjusts to life in Menton she learns that she can count on Will to give her what she needs to help her be successful and cared for. She also learns her tough enough to do what it takes to keep her safe from the bad guys.

This is a story that takes place in a southern town in which everyone practices DD to some extent. Mabel quickly falls in love with the town sheriff, Will, who she knew during her college days. There are twists and turns along the way and the journey is enjoyable but sometimes the discipline seemed harsh.
