Winds of Tino’s by Cindy Kehagiaras, provided via The Author Agency, is a grounded and emotionally driven romance that blends a strong sense of place with layered character dynamics.

Set in the Greek islands, the setting creates an immersive and calming atmosphere that enhances the overall experience. It provides a sense of escape while also supporting the emotional tone of the story.

Maggie and Alex’s relationship is built on chemistry and quiet tension. Their dynamic feels natural, shaped by both their personal circumstances and the complexity of their connection.

Maggie’s storyline, particularly as she navigates her mother’s illness, adds significant emotional depth. These elements make the story feel more personal and impactful, especially for readers who may relate to similar experiences.

The inclusion of a hidden secret adds another layer to the narrative, creating moments of surprise that keep the story engaging.

Overall, this is a well-balanced romance that combines setting, emotional weight, and character-driven storytelling into a memorable read.

Just finished The Winds of Tinos by Cindy Kehagiaras and wow… this one is messy in the best way.

It’s very character-driven, and Maggie is not your typical main character—she’s complicated, guarded, and carrying a past that slowly unravels as the story goes on. The tension isn’t just about the romance (which I actually really liked ), it’s more about when everything is going to fall apart once the truth comes out.

I loved that it’s a later-in-life romance with real baggage, and the emotional stakes felt high the whole time. Definitely more on the emotional/drama side than fast-paced, but it kept me hooked because I needed to know what she was hiding.

If you like messy characters, secrets, and romance with depth, this one’s worth picking up.

Reverse age gap is one of my favorite tropes, and it was done so well in this book. I absolutely loved this later in life romance. I was living for the banter between Black cat Maggie and grumpy Alex.
The setting in the Greek Island was so perfect, making me feel like I was on a vacation as I read this romantic suspense. I was completely hooked from beginning to end. The Greek lingo throughout the book was fun. This was fast-paced, easy, and fun to read.

Tropes:
Reverse age-gap (She's 54/He's 42)
Black Cat
Cancer survivor rep
Grumpy MMC
Taboo
Friend's mother
Dual POV

The chemistry and magic of Greece was apparent from the start of this one and makes me want to go to Greece now and just see what happens for me. The mystery and suspense around Maggie’s past was a surprising element that kept me hooked until the end. Alex was the perfect match for her despite being 12 years younger than Maggie they brought out the best in each other.

3.5⭐️ 2.5🌶

I really liked the reverse age gap and that both of the main characters are over 40. The maturity of the characters stands out in this story for me. The beautiful backdrop and the magic of a small island in Greece made this story feel like a summer vacation. Themystery and romance kept me engaged. This story was so much different than I had expected. I really like Alex and Maggie. I like how strong and independent they where but they both opened up and grew together. Both of them deserved all of the happiness and it was so fulfilling to wach them falling in love. And the family to die for.

Thank you to The Author Agency for this ARC. These are my honest opinions and feelings.

The Winds of Tinos by Cindy Kehagiaras is a beautifully layered blend of romantic suspense and later-in-life romance set on a vivid Greek island backdrop.
Maggie is a standout heroine. She is sharp, guarded, and carrying a past that refuses to stay buried. As a former fixer with secrets tied to her identity, she brings a level of intrigue that elevates the story beyond a typical romance. Watching her navigate family tensions, especially with her son’s engagement and the secrets she is desperate to keep hidden, adds emotional weight throughout.
The reverse age gap dynamic works well here, especially paired with a grumpy, quietly pining hero who sees through Maggie’s defenses more than she would like. Their chemistry builds with tension and restraint, making the emotional payoff satisfying.
The setting of Tinos feels immersive and almost alive. There is a subtle sense of mystery woven into the atmosphere that complements both the romance and the suspense elements.
This story shines in its portrayal of second chances, complicated pasts, and the vulnerability that comes with opening yourself up later in life. A compelling and emotionally grounded read.

Amazing book. I absolutely devoured this one. I just love seeing characters from other series pop up, especially in this one the FMC, Maggie, code name "Lips" loved that. I also liked that this was a reverse age gap where the female was older. Another thing that I liked was how the author took and blended the romantic suspense with the later in life romance. I think this was portrayed very well in this story. It’s an emotional yet compelling read. It draws you in from the beginning and holds your interest until the very end. I could not put this down once I started it. It’s so good. I highly recommend grabbing a copy of this, especially if you like romantic suspense with a reverse age gap, a black cat/cancer survivor FMC and a grumpy/pining MMC. Thanks so much to the author agency and the author for a copy of this incredible book. all opinions are my own and freely expressed.

Maggie is in Greece to spend time with her son and his fiancé. She is truly enjoying the weather and beautiful scenery of Tinos. She catches the eye of Alex who is blown away by her beauty for one but then all the layers she is. There is an age gap with her being older and she has some trepidations about it but not Alex. Alex keeps going after her knowing that they have a connection if only she would let herself see it. The twists and turns of the suspense elements were so good. This book just makes you want to book a trip to Greece to see the beauty that is described.

This is a new author to me, and I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future.
Maggie is guarded and is keeping a soul-crushing secrets from her son, and his fiancées family, whose cantankerous uncle Alex, keeps giving Maggie heated looks, and he sees through the facade she hides behind, while she tries to navigate through family tension.
This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, secrets, mystery, suspense, intrigue, tension, reverse age gap, revelation, chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining page turner with a background on a Greek Island.
I look forward to reading more from this author.

The winds of Tinos swirled around Alex and Maggie with a sultry essence that vanquished their inhibitions, causing them to wonder why they hadn’t met sooner. At times, Alex’s urges were uncontrollable, as if his heart was fighting with his mind, and neither came out a winner. To him, Maggie was a goddess, her brilliant mind, an aphrodisiac for his soul, her beauty, a gift for him to admire, hopefully forever. How could he possibly feel this way about someone he barely knew? Their age difference was of no consequence to Alex, but Maggie was a different story. She kept finding reasons to push him away, but the magic of Tinos kept pulling her back to him.

Maggie wasn’t just the object of Alex’s desire, she was a woman with an intriguing past who traveled the world, engaging in secretive and covert operations, but that was all behind her. She was in Greece to relax and spend time with her son and future daughter-in-law. The warmth of Tinos, both the weather and the people, calmed Maggie’s restless soul and kept her busy mind occupied with happiness and love. Her son was content, and he was marrying into a loving family who had welcomed her with open arms. At first, Alex’s steamy glances confused her, but when she found it impossible to look away, she knew she was in too deep to ever be the same again.

I loved that Maggie was older and we could definitely feel what she was going through. Alex....Loved him so much and he was just what Maggie needed ..... "I want to keep you" - I seriously loved this. I loved the growth both MC's had - finding each other, finding their purpose. This was an immediate love for me. Maggie and Alex were the perfect fit for one another. Regardless of her secrets or their age difference, he was everything. And he proves that to her so many times. He was such an amazing guy. And Maggie herself was a wonderful person. Put all that together with Greece as a background and you get perfection. I absolutely loved this story.
