About the author

Jack Flynn

Jack Flynn co-writes dark billionaire military romance with Lainey Ray.

Jack is a former military man with a sharp mind, a devilish smirk, and a habit of taking control—in fiction and otherwise. He likes his books like he likes his combat strategies: fast-paced, explosive, and leaving no survivors. When he’s not crafting tactical missions and deadly antiheroes, you can find him reading action thrillers, watching war movies, or engaging in other kinds of action we won’t discuss here.

Jack brings the precision, the danger, and the raw intensity to every Jack & Lainey book. He knows exactly how to build a hero who commands a room, claims a woman, and takes down anyone who dares to stand in his way.

Rumor has it, Jack never loses control … unless Lainey’s involved.

Awesome

Amazing. Incredible. This book made me cry by page 5 and again and again. Death and dying are never comfortable, but I swear that the authors worked extra hard in this one. That said, I also laughed often, and my heart smiled as well. As usual, the Dane brothers and their wives are awesome.

I originally read this book though Kindle Unlimited. I am now going back to buy it for my personal library. It's that good!

The Jackal has everything I want in a Dominion Hall story — laughter, tears, gasps, and that delicious “oh no, what’s coming next” tension that keeps you glued to the page. Cash and Magnolia? Instant chemistry, instant connection, instant “yep, I’m invested.” Their reunion is sweet without being sugary, emotional without being melodramatic, and the trust they rebuild feels earned and natural.

This book hooked me from page one. The transition into the brothers’ storyline is the smoothest in the entire series — no confusion, no whiplash, no “wait, who is this again?” Just clean, seamless storytelling that pulls you right in.

And the danger? The overarching threat? I love how each set of brothers faces something different, yet it all ties together into one big, beautifully woven world. It’s the kind of interconnected storytelling that makes you smile while you’re reading because you can feel how much thought went into it.

This is one of those books that reminds you why you picked up Dominion Hall in the first place — heart, humor, danger, and characters who feel like family.

The Jackal, like the rest of the Dominion Hall series, is filled with tension, suspense, intrigue, danger and some very spicy romance. Yet, it's just a tad different. Cash Dane is the different brother, the Zen operator with almost mystical qualities. I immediately fell in love. Magnolia "Mags" Bennett is also a keeper. She's spent her adult life helping others find peace during stressful times and then used those same talents to find great matchups for homeless dogs. She's also only ever loved one man; Cash. Reuniting in Charleston was definitely fated and finally gives Cash the reason he needed to put down roots. There a happy moments, tear shedding memories and incidents and the Danes move one step closer to solving the whys of whoever has it out for them. This just maybe my favorite book in the series (but I've said that before.)

what a great story

To date one of my favorites in the series. The dog angle and the spiritual story of acceptance, healing, forgiveness, love and belonging were the best of the continuing story.
