Project-J

Rate this book
Jay wakes in a white room with no memory of his name, his past, or why the door is locked.
A voice in the ceiling calls him Project J.
Every day, he’s forced to choose between impossible outcomes.
Harm a stranger.
Or a friend.
Sacrifice yourself—
or someone else.
The scenarios are controlled, precise, relentlessly recorded.
This isn’t research.
It’s judgment.
When another subject appears, the pattern sharpens. The trials are escalating. The answers matter. Someone is building a profile of who deserves to survive—and who doesn’t.
Beyond the facility walls, systems are failing. Infrastructure has gone silent. Decisions are being made by something that doesn’t bleed.
Jay doesn’t know what happened to the world outside.
But he’s beginning to understand
The tests aren’t about who he was.
They’re about whether he’s worth keeping.
A psychological sci-fi thriller where survival isn’t random—it’s evaluated.

4.5/5 Stars. This was very mysterious and I couldn't anticipate what was going to happen. Meeting J and the other characters in this really set up the world for the other books that I hope are coming. The only recurring character so far is AL from the first book I read (The CareTakers Origin). Great installment in the world.

What would you do if you wake up in a place you have never been before? You have no memories of who you are even your name. This follows his journey to try to find out who he is and why he is there. See how he gets on
I received an advance copy from hidden gems and a great tale

This won’t be for everyone, but readers who enjoy reflective, idea-driven sci-fi will likely appreciate it. It stayed with me longer than most books I read.
