Dr Nicole Labor is a goddamn national treasure, and not just for addicts— for all of us. Her writing on the neuroscience of addiction and recovery is accessible to any layperson, formatted for the attention-ly challenged, and scalpel-level precise- not to mention hilarious. (Don’t skip the footnotes.)
As an addiction physician with 20+ years of clean time, she understands and explains the disease of addiction from all the angles, and is uniquely positioned to tell the world that we *do* recover- and, most importantly, HOW.
Buy this brilliant, badass woman’s books (The Addictoholic Deconstructed is part one) and follow her on social media too- Dr Nicole Labor, Addiction Assassin. You won’t regret it. Also, please note that if you flip to the back of the book, she has cliff notes on the whole thing for all the “lazy fuckers.”
This lady is totally my patronus.
