A journey through the elements, ELEMENTAL touches the deepest parts of the human psyche and reveals the kind of magic we could see every day if only we remembered to look.
In 2005, I completed my first novel which sits loved but unpublished, in a drawer. I've had numerous non-fiction articles published in the Body, Mind and Soul section of LUX Magazine. VISIONS of WOOL was my first published work of fiction, then along came Concessions, and a little story called The Man Upstairs in a DeadPixels Publication called, Flying Toasters.
My most recent publication is a book of poetry called, Elemental.
Okay, so many of you are probably all "Ew, poetry" but let's not be so narrow minded, eh? I'm not big on it either, but now and then I find a writer who makes me forget I'm reading poetry. With Elemental, Hanna Elizabeth has created a collection of short stories in the form of verse, using the elements (earth, air, water, fire) as themes. Her subtle wordplay creates imagery that is both vivid and (at times) intense. Each brief "poem" provides the reader with a snapshot of a bigger tale that lingers long after the last line. Beautifully done, and enjoyable for any reader, IMO.
I will start off by saying that I am not much of a poetry guy. That being said, there were some really good ones in this little collection. What Remains is probably my favorite of the lot. There is great use of imagery in this work, and it was worth the read.
Delicious words, Elizabeth infuses the four seasons in this heartfelt compilation of poetry. Words you'll want to read out loud in the cold of winter and the promise of spring.
So very beautiful! Once again Hanna Elizabeth has captured the feelings of the heart in everyday words that people can understand and enjoy! A must read for anyone who enjoys poetry!
