An unusual story that skates on the edge of possibility but, nevertheless, loses none of its grip and heart-pounding tension.
What sort of reason lies behind a serial killer who not only kills across countries, but across continents? How long does it take the investigative forces of these countries to finally realise there is a commonality to these deaths, seemingly only in the method of death – a thin-bladed accurate stab so forcefully through the heart that the blade exits through the victims’ backs?
The family of the accused need Rory Mack Steele to exonerate their daughter, but the DNA evidence is damning.

Eugene Lloyd McRae definitely delivered with MASK. Very fast paced, and entertaining read as a serial killer traverses the globe to seek revenge, and with the serial killer’s high intellect, puts all victims, and those who seek the killer to bring to justice, in precarious situations, as she outsmarts her purserers leaving behind a trail of dead bodies . MASK by Eugene Lloyd McRae has all the components to bring the reader to the reading table and keeps them there to read a very intriguing book. Some very skillful writing by Mr. McRae in MASK. Lots of tension and unique scenes and all the characters were well developed and worked well with their interactions with each other. Gripping read. HIGHLY recommend this book! Enjoy!

The hunt for a serial killer, with clues that take one searching back centuries, looking for connections to long-dead assassins, through literature, and in various professions. Twisted and chilling.

Fast paced and action packed thriller that kept me glued to the pages, although it took me the first couple of chapters to really get into the story, and who - or rather, "what" - the killer is was clear I think fairly early in the story (cannot get into too much detail or I will spoil it).
Although the characters were a little bit stereotypes, they still came over as realistic and sympathetic as the reader followed their progress (or lack of it) in chasing the killer.
Some parts of the story were a bit far-fetched, or seemed to be off-track a little bit, too much of a coincidence (again, no details as examples because that would present a spoiler), but on the whole this was a very enjoyable book which I found difficult to put aside.
A big minus are the numerous spelling errors - maybe another editing session would be in order.

This was a very exciting and entertaining book to read. The author wove different complexities into a single story that at first glance just appeared to be a simple murder novel. The characters were well developed and the author artfully played them against each other. There were several plot twists or surprises in the story which only added to the total enjoyment of the book.

I found this book to be very fast paced initially. 3/4 of the way through the book it just kind of dragged on until the final scene. I quickly figured out who the mask was.

I like a good mystery and this was a good one. I did figure it out when they found the blood at the crime scene of one of the murders because up to that point they never left a clue. Good book.
