I wasn't sure about having two different endings but it was amazing . I read them both and was happy with either ending . I read Aaron's story first but Damien's story just felt right . After getting his full story it made sense to have Etta and Damien end up together .
I originally read Drawn #1 in early 2014. From the start, I was hooked. The moment Damien was introduced, I knew I would enjoy the story, knew I would would fall in love with him and his passion for Etta.
So, after rereading Drawn, I immediately jumped to Drawn - Redemption (Damien’s Story). I knew I wanted to know more about Damien and how he planned to win Henrietta and their daughter back. It always felt more right and realistic that she would always choose Damien in the end. Their love and their choices felt more natural, true to life, and fulfilling. Redemption also showed a more realistic and happier ending for Aaron, Henrietta, and Damien.
After I finished Redemption, I went back to read Obsession. When I was reading it, a line from Drawn kept reverberating in my mind:
“I couldn’t breathe without him.” That’s what Etta’s mother said to her when she described her relationship with Etta’s father.
Etta understands that feeling because she experienced it with Damien, no matter how brief their time together was in the beginning. When I was reading Obsession, I couldn’t feel that passion and need from Etta like what she had with Damien. In my opinion, I could only feel her taking the easy way out with Aaron. In Obsession, I felt there was a lack of growth from amongst the love triangle.
That’s not to say Aaron’s story in Obsession was lacking. His story and the way it intertwined with Etta was good, but it was also a bit heartbreaking for all involved. Aaron’s ending with Etta was too predictable and too easy, in my opinion.
All in all, glad we got to choose our endings for Henrietta, Damien, and Aaron. Wonderful series, very beautiful story!
I can't say how much i DEVOURED this book!! I loved the whole concept of being able to chooose your own ending for Etta, Damien and Aaron. My heart broke over and over again with this story no matter what the ending was - because we all know that i read every ending possible in this book. What a genious idea, Absolutely BRILLIANT!!
Damien - where do i even start with this guy? Sure at the start i was all for Damien until i started to read between the lines and it became clear the more you read in this story that he was a total control freak who dominated Etta in every sense of the word. But as time went on and especially at the ending of one of the chosen paths i couldn't help feel sorry for him. He had his issues, but he truly loved Etta.
Aaron was a total sweetheart, he was always there for Etta, even when he knew there was no chance for him but he couldn't lose the friendship they shared, the bond they had and he couldn't let go of the hope that one day if and when she needed him he would be there for her. For Aaron there was simply no one else in the world - there was only Etta. I truly loved both alternate endings, they were both sad for reasons that one missed out on true love but when you flip the coin they also won the love of Etta. Fantastic read!!!
I’m so torn, I love a demanding Alpha but this was a bit too far. Damian boarders on abusive, having been in an abusive relationship I can see that this behaviour and “love “ does happen. I’m going to listen to the next book and hope they find a better balance.
Redemption 5 stars
I love Aaron. This is the ending I wanted. He was by far the nicer of the two, however the heart wants what the heart wants. Great performance.
Obsession 5 stars So this book was a lot different from the other alternative ending. I must say I enjoyed it just as much. I love how Damian saw his faults and got the help he needed to change. I do love a damaged Alpha.
I enjoyed listening to this series. It is a dark psychological romance. The relationship between Damian and Letta was sinfully hot but twisted. I think Letta's young age and naivety meant the pull to Damian was uncontrollable. The one character who was the pillar for Letting was Aaron. He is my favourite H.
Amy Soakes conveyed the personalities of the characters and broght them to life.
Loved this series and cried after the first book and then got confused as to which ending I really wanted. Would have loved either but it really did my head in to have a choice. Brilliant thanks for the great read. Wow what a life they all had. 💕
This book allows you to choose the right guy for Etta - or Henrietta. There are two main guys in Etta's life, and each one has a very special place in her life. There is the supportive love from Aaron and the all consuming love frim Damien. Which guy is right for her? The reader gets to choose.
