When the Reds betray the mechs, Zero must find a way to protect his home from an enemy he can't defeat.
On a barren planet he discovers a long lost line of heavy mechs left to rot for centuries. With no hope of escape they've grown unstable but they have information that could lead Zero to an alien race strong enough to help him vanquish the Reds.
They find a stone covered ship that's been traveling the cosmos for hundreds of millions of years, bringing them one step closer to the elusive race, but when they finally meet the plan to unite backfires.
When nothing goes according to plan, Zero relies on luck to save the day, but luck may not be enough to survive what's coming.
Zero, My Hero Once again. Savior of the Milky Way Defender of the Defenseless, a True Knight in Dented Armor.

I have read this series with unabashed pleasure from Zero's start and cheerfully say he is by far the most Human and Humane a Mechanical man I have ever met, in a book that is. He looks out for the small refugees he has taken under his wing with all the frustration of a parent when asked 'why?' for the 15th time and come back with a very normal 'Because I said SO !'. His battle tactics are as much flying by the seat of his pants and just dumb luck at winning the day as it is real fighting tactics and battle training. You just have to love him.. He was tricked into becoming a Mechanical battle robot with a human brain and has made the best of it, never giving up, never just throwing in the towel, he takes his lot and makes the best of it, which is why he is such an endearing character. Don't get me wrong I love the whole crew, Eve is a woman in a mechanical body after my own heart. they have their own way of snarking at each other in a way that is reminiscent of how any Military, EMS, or Fire crew would, the slap on the rear move your butt type attitude growls and rough talk but in a friendly comrade way. The nicknames, oh man, you just have to laugh, because they come up with great ones. River should have never copied his mind into his ship's computer, he just shoulda known..You'll see what I mean.. very fitting I must say. They have tried to keep in mind they came from Earth, while they have saved it over and over Earth just doesn't want them back. When a ships Captain is caught being , well just a dumb bunny, and then makes a deal with the devil to cover it up, it just seals Mankind's fate. It's not Zero's Fault, he can stop what happens, he can however finish the fight. Humans die because of one Man's greed, but there is hope for redemption from what Earth wants destroyed. Time and time again, Zero becomes the Hero, I wouldn't want him any other way. Adam Moon has a way of making Mechanical beings so life like you'd swear they are up there, but hope they aren't because Humanity keeps doing really dumb stuff to them and bringing destruction down on it's self because of it. I will always be a Fan of Adam Moon, he just makes you snicker , smile and laugh at his characters and then get really pissed at the bad guys ! Isn't that what a writer is for? The refugees under Zero's wing increase, yet there is always hope at the end that he'll protect them. Even from Dinosaurs.
To me I just love this series. This was a little shorter than normal but was action packed . If you're like me and into space, aliens and all kinds of new weapons, then this is the kind of series you want to get into. Loved it. Good job Adam.
