Amy Cross does it again. Nobody Lives Here pulled me in fast and didn’t let go—creepy, tense, and dripping with that slow-burn dread she’s so good at. The way the house itself feels wrong from the start gave me chills, but what really got me was how everything unravels. When it’s revealed that the previous “empty” home wasn’t empty at all—and that someone (or something) has been there the whole time—it genuinely made my stomach drop. And that twist with the recordings and the truth about what happened to the last occupants? Yeah… I didn’t see that coming, and it stuck with me. It’s unsettling in all the right ways, with that lingering, claustrophobic fear that doesn’t go away when you finish. Another eerie win from Amy Cross.

sisters inherit a house from an old family member. one sister makes it to the house first with her spouse and they spend the night in the haunted house. when the second sister shows up nobody seems angered. who will survive the house?

Another wonderful Amy Cross book! This one is creepier and more graphic/gory than most of her books. As with all Amy Cross books there are moments when the dialogue between characters seems weird, but I've learned this is her style of writing. Her characters are usually weird with rather condescending personalities.

There is a huge cliffhanger ending so be ready to read the second book, Nobody Dies Here. Thankfully the full trilogy is already published so no wait time.

writing could improve

The plot could be worthwhile but the writing is very juvenile. It does have a creep factor. Hopefully book 2 is written better.

Not for me. I like a good ghost story but have no desire to read a trilogy to find out how such a story will end.

Hmmmm..

I'm not sure about this one. I'll have to read the next one to try to understand this one. I'm so confused!
