A Lady's Guide to Love and Pirates
The goddaughter of a legendary pirate joins forces with a guarded sea captain to undertake a perilous rescue mission—one that may cost them everything, including their hearts. Jane Austen meets Pirates of the Caribbean.
Annabelle Bradford was born on the sea and as an infant, was claimed by pirate captain Reid Courtney as part of the spoils of seizure. Though she lives in London, she spends every summer aboard her godfather’s ship, exploring the ocean and embracing the freedom the horizon offers.

"I'm in love with every part of you."
A Lady's Guide to Love and Pirates by Jennifer Moore
This book was just the read I needed and more. It was fun, flirty, adventurous, swoony, and I just had the best time reading it.
Annabelle is caught between two worlds--high society and the world of pirates. She leaves to go rescue her godfather. I loved how independent and fierce Annabelle was, but yet she still remained feminine and graceful.
I loved the found family of the pirate crew and how protective they were of Annabelle.
The adventure and action parts were really well done. There were parts that had me on the edge of my seat. Won't mention what parts because that would spoil it.
I highly recommend this swashbuckling good time of a story! Top read for me this year for sure.

Ahhhh! I have been watching this book FOREVER! And now it is in my hands! It's so pretty! Sprayed edges...vibrant colors, matte finish to the hardcover jacket. I feel like I need a fancy Starbucks drink alongside it.
I can't tell you how excited I am for this Jane Austen meets Pirates of the Caribbean mix. I gobbled the first few chapters last night and I'm up early to read again!
I finished it! My reward for launching a novel. I loved it! My teens are now binging it :). So much fun with a Jane Austen meets Pirates of the Caribbean vibe. Sweet, noble, plenty of twists and turns to keep me absorbed. Spice-free romance that sparkles.

This book had everything I love, intruige, high seas adventures, romance and obviously pirates!
I absolutely loved Annebelle, as a noble women, her godfather is the notorious pirate captain Reid Courtney. Belle grew up with summers aboard the Reid's ship. Her life is split as the pirate princess and as a lady out in society. Annabelle's courage and strength stood out to me especially as she is put in situations that test it.
I adored the romance between Annabelle and Hawke. They may have started out hating each other, but the way they came to love, protect, and care for another was just done so well. Hawke was a character I enjoyed, he brought the humor, and banter, but also encouragement when the crew needed it.
The found family aspect in this one hit hard. The friendships between Annabelle, and the crew was wholesome. Their adventures together just brought them closer together.
Goodness, I really enjoyed this one! That ending was satisfying and precious, I absolutely loved every second of this read.

There are some books you pick up expecting a serious Regency romance, and then there are books that simply invite you on an adventure. A Lady’s Guide to Love and Pirates is definitely the latter.

Jennifer Moore delivers a fun, lighthearted pirate adventure with plenty of action, humor, and a sweet romance. Think more Pirates of the Caribbean with a touch of Jane Austen than a strictly historical Regency novel. The author even explains in her notes that she intentionally didn’t adhere too closely to Regency realities because doing so would have made the story much darker with the harsh realities of piracy, poverty, and class divisions. I appreciated knowing her vision going into the story.
Annabelle is just as comfortable navigating the open sea as she is London’s ballrooms, and her determination makes her an enjoyable heroine to follow. Her partnership with Captain Hawke begins with plenty of sparks as they clash over leadership, but watching their relationship develop amid storms, danger, and a daring rescue mission made for an entertaining journey.
This was such an enjoyable poolside read. I found myself smiling through much of the story because it never tried to be anything other than a fun escape. The romance stays completely clean with only kisses, making it a great choice for readers who enjoy wholesome historical romance.
One of my favorite parts of the book was the author’s note at the end, where Jennifer Moore shares the inspiration behind the story. If your edition includes discussion questions, they would make this an excellent pick for a book club.
If you’re looking for a swashbuckling adventure with memorable characters, clean romance, and a playful take on Regency-era fiction, A Lady’s Guide to Love and Pirates is well worth adding to your reading list.

I really enjoyed this no spice historical romance with pirates and a young lady. Such an interesting set up - even more so that it is inspired by real historical events. I spent the entire book being reminded of the Pirates of the Caribbean with scenes, banter, and song. I’ve spent time in the Dominican Republic, so seeing it mentioned was a great piece for me.
This book did start slow for me. The second half, however, picked up speed and just got better and better! Of course, with pirates, you’ll come across unsavory characters and behavior, but the heroes in this story are portrayed honorably and with tender hearts. I enjoyed this read, it was great to escape on the seas with pirates, forced proximity, enemies to sweethearts, and danger all around. The romance is just kisses, intimacy level 1.5. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

Omg what a truly delightful story!! 😍 If you want Pirates of the Caribbean vibes with a dash of Jane Austen, PICK UP THIS BOOK!!! 😍 It’s fantastic and perfect for this time of the year!
Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down! It had everything I wanted - a swoony romance, adventures on the high scenes, a band of ragtag pirates who are like family, and a fierce heroine! It was truly delightful! And Hawke had me smiling and laughing through the entirety of this book 😂.Their exchanges were chef's kiss. And I absolutely loved the adventures on the high seas! I find that too often "pirate books" end up not having enough scenes on the actual pirate ship, but this one didn't disappoint! And the added bonus of having a beast attack the ship?! Perfection! I wasn't expecting that one! haha but I loved it. This was my first time reading a book by this author, and now I can’t wait to pick up her backlist! 😍

I absolutely LOVED this story. I went into it expecting pirate shenanigans galore, and I was not disappointed! Belle is such a likeable character while still retaining her stubbornness, and I loved her loyalty to the crew she had grown up with. Hawke was sarcastic, protective, and overall just a total cutie. I thought their romance was believable, especially because they were on the ship for so long, and I enjoyed watching them go from rivals to reluctant shipmates to more! I honestly wish we had seen even more of their romance develop because it was absolutely DELICIOUS. This whole book made me nostalgic for Pirates of the Caribbean (specifically Curse of the Black Pearl) and was meticulously researched! I appreciated that it was more of a fun swash-buckling story instead of gruesome (as pirate stories can sometimes swing towards), while still remaining true to much of what we know about pirates and how cutthroat they can be! HIGHLY recommend this book if you're looking for a high-seas adventure!

Not only is this book gorgeous, but the story within is fantastic!
In a mashup of pirates and ballrooms, Jennifer Moore delights readers with a charming tale full of danger, adventure, romance, and action. Lady Annabelle spends her summers aboard her pirate godfather’s ship and when he is kidnapped by a rival, she embarks on a quest to rescue him. With the help of Captain Hawke, they set sail and encounter much more than they bargained for.
Annabelle is feisty and determined, which serves her well as she battles her way through peril and feelings with the reluctant, yet charismatic pirate. I kept picturing Hook from Once Upon a Time–SWOON! I love how they match one another’s energy.
I couldn’t get enough of these two and their daring adventures. There were plenty of twists and thrilling turns, as well as building chemistry, that kept me flying through this enchanting tale. I was enamored with this book and loved it so much more than I was anticipating! Please give us more pirates!!

4.25⭐️ ARC Review: I’ve wanted a book like Pirates of the Caribbean since I started reading again (which has been years at this point) and I can honestly say this is exactly what I was wanting and expecting. We get the swashbuckling pirate vibes and the regency vibes, and I loved it.
I will say one thing to just get it out of the way. It is a bit slow in the middle up until they get to the island, but I honestly didn’t care that much.
Anywayssssss. What I loved is everything else. lol. I truly enjoyed both main characters and Belle’s pirate sidekicks who adored her. Captain Hawke was broody but caring, and you could tell from the beginning he was absolutely gone for Belle. Belle was genteel yet a force to be reckoned with. They were perfect for each other. I’ve seen some people say they didn’t have any chemistry, and I beg to differ. It wasn’t sizzling but it was gradual then constant and sweet, and sometimes I prefer that. In this case I did for sure.
I enjoyed the plot and the writing. I honestly wouldn’t have changed much if anything. I’ve read Jennifer Moore books since I was 13 and I can say her writing has improved immensely. I didn’t love her oldest works so that made me happy.
That ending also made me so happy, and I’m ecstatic that they both got what they deserved. I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better ending. It just all worked out perfectly.

I love the found family relationship between the pirate crew. Their loyalty and love for each other endeared me to each of these characters. Annabelle or Belle was born on the sea and was claimed by the pirate captain, Reid Courtney. During the year Belle lives in London, but spends every summer with her Godfather on his ship, exploring the ocean and finding new adventures. Initially the crew keep their piracy a secret from her.
The enemies to lovers trope between Hawke and Belle sucked me in. I loved how Belle was fiercely loyal to Courtney and thought of him as a father figure, never having a father of her own. Hawke became very protective of Belle and their friendship turned into something more.
Jennifer Moore wrote a delightful book that I devoured within a few days.

I loved this book. The characters were great and the sub characters (ship’s crew) were amazing. Belle was so awesome and the epilogue was perfect. There were times where I rolled my eyes at Hawk but he was so good too. Such a great read.

3.5 stars This book was more a fun ride than a serious pirate book. Courtney’s pirate crew had such selfless, good hearts that they definitely didn’t feel like pirates. But I still loved them. Hawke was a great, selfless character for a pirate too! Belle was honestly the most selfish character of them all. She bothered me especially at first but then grew on me. The book had some fantastical elements as well with creatures and curses. I enjoyed the story over all and would recommend it if you like pirate adventures. The audiobook was just ok though it is duel narration.

With this paper, a captain could attack and rob enemy ships during a war without being called a pirate. King Charles II issued one to Courtney so he can attack ships from countries at war with England. Charles II reigned as King of England, Scotland, and Ireland from May 29, 1660, until his death on February 6, 1685. Courtney took a Spanish vessel where he found Annabelle Bradford just barely born. He fell in love with the baby so he made a deal with the mom that the child would spend every summer on the ship with him as soon as she is five yo. Grieg the funny boatswain with an eye patch and Shadbolt the muscled black first mate come to deliver the news of her godfather. They are her friends! Bring her gifts and tell her jokes. They are hilarious trying to be proper and polite in the mom’s parlor room. I love that hawke’s first conversation with Belle and he insists on being called CAPTAIN hawke even though he is between ships right now lol. They rescued him from prison but he wouldn’t leave without Tim Kelley. He is an older fellow a little slow in the head that hawke protects. Tim such a beautiful spirit and offers people rocks as gifts. Hawke was in prison bc his first mate mutinied and falsely accused him. Now they are all going to save court and hawke gets the ship as reward. I love this exchange right before she boards the ship and he surprises her so she reacts by pulling her award but he stops her just as quickly: ““Of course she has a sword.” The stranger’s voice sounded familiar. “Where did she get a sword?”Grieg picked up her bundle. “There is no danger here, Belle. It is the captain. Hawke.” Hawke stepped closer, into the light. His appearance shocked her. He was . . . handsome. He took another step toward her, sliding his blade along hers, forcing her sword upward until the hilts struck. He studied the scrollwork on the guard. “A fine weapon. Do you know how to use it?” They share the captains cabin with a curtain separating them. “that there might be more to being a leader than simply giving orders…. The men were listened to, respected. It was no wonder his crew was so loyal.” These two are so angry at each other for no reason: “But that woman . . . He had never met anyone who made him so furious. And that included the Portuguese soldiers who’d hung him by his feet over a pit of crocodiles and left him to die.” BELLE IS SO BLIND AND STUBBORN AND ANNOYING AND PRIDEFUL. She isn’t fair. FINALLY she trusts him. To stop at the island tortuga to get the antitode to the illness from the island. Belle sings a song about this: “ Beattie took the hanging cloth and used it to wipe his eyes. Murray’s gaze was turned downward, his hand still resting over his heart. Both men had fought in defense of the deposed King James II, and along with the other Jacobites, they still felt anger at the injustices against the Stuart dynasty.” They arrive at Tortuga: “It was here that the “Brethren of the Coast”—a fraternity of buccaneers who adhered to strict articles that they were sworn by oath to honor—was created. The Pirate Code had governed these seas for decades, establishing rules for discipline, distribution of captured treasure, and injury compensation. The Code was what distinguished pirates from common criminals, and in Hawke’s eyes at least, gave the profession a modicum of honor.” Haha they are about to go ashore and Hawke sees Belle dressed: “Hawke changed direction to intercept her. “Absolutely not.” “I beg your pardon?” She looked as if she was not sure whether to be confused or angry at his interference. “You are not going ashore,” he said. “Especially not dressed like . . .” He flipped his hand up and down. “Like that.” “What’s wrong with how I’m dressed?” She held out her skirts, looking them over as if searching for a tear or a stain. It is far too fetching. That’s what’s wrong with it. The color emphasizes the blue of your eyes, and your entire neck is exposed.” Belle was attacked by three men and hawke saved her by fighting all three and she was MAD. Mad that he saved her. Ugh. She finally thanks him at a dance that was thrown by the locals. They have to stay at the rooms in the tavern. “The music came to an end, but Hawke didn’t release her. They continued to spin slowly. “Today took an . . . unexpected turn,” Hawke said. “More than one,” Annabelle agreed. “Indeed.” Hawke’s arm tightened around her, and she laid her head against his chest. She closed her eyes, listening to his heartbeat and the sounds of voices around her. “Thank you,” she said. “For . . . ?” His voice rumbled beneath her ear. “For fighting those men. For saving me from—” A tremor went through her. “From them,” she finished in a soft voice.” Now they are on the ship and he gives her sword fighting lessons. She is humble in correction and advice at least. He teaches her to block with her sword, then step into her opponent and then knee him in the nuts!! Then run fast!!! Yes this is realistic!!! She tends his wound then washes his shirt and then mends the tear. Then she notices all his scars on his chest and whipping scars on his back! Her eyes shining with concern. ““There are so many,” she whispered, tracing her fingers over the furrows, ridges, and divots. Hawke shivered at her touch. When he did, she stopped, pulling her hand away. “Does it hurt?” She moved around to face him, and the care in her expression nearly brought him to tears. “Not anymore,” he said, shrugging. “They’re old injuries.” She gives him a kiss on the cheek! A kraken is attacking there ship!!! And a giant storm!! They made it to the island and found out the cherries are what poisoned people. They ran into to both their enemies and got captured. They are forced to open the door and they found the treasure. Wilkes and blackham are two bad guys but are butting heads… after they got the treasure, they locked Hawke, Court, Grieg and Shadbolt in the cavern tied up to die a slow death while they took Belle with them to do unspeakable things to her. But right at the last second Wilkes pushed blackham and Belle inside the cave and locked the door! Belle fought and defeated him by kicking his nuts! “The instant Hawke’s hands were freed, he caught Annabelle’s face, gently turning her head to the side and running his fingertips over her cheekbone where she’d been struck. He tipped his head, looking at her sore neck.” They had an amazing tunnel kiss!!! ““I’ve wanted to do that for a long time,” Hawke said. He brushed back her hair from her cheeks. Annabelle smoothed her curls to cover her ear. Hawke kissed the corner of her mouth, her cheek, her jaw, his touch slow and gentle. “Why didn’t you?” She wrapped her arms around his neck and closed her eyes, wanting him to continue. “An entire ship full of men would have torn me to shreds if I had even come close,” he muttered against her neck. Annabelle pulled back, studying his expression. “They wouldn’t—” His raised brows stopped her words. “Well, perhaps they might have been a bit protective,” she admitted. “A bit?” Hawke tipped his head, smirking.” There are two ships left when they leave the island and Hawke will be captain of one and Courtney the other. Hawke and Grieg and Shadbolt will go on one and Annabelle will go with court on the other. The third ship has Wilkes and the treasure. Hawke left her his most precious possession his wooden fox. Six months later and she is attending another mask ball. She talks to her fox. Eek!! He shows up as a lord in a mask at the ball but she does not recognize him!! He asks her this: “have actually come to the city in search of a friend of mine. I’d hoped she would be here tonight, but I have not seen her. Perhaps you might be of help?” “I will try. Who is she?” “Allow me to describe her. She is small but very bold and extremely opinionated. Not one to hold her tongue when she has something to say. You know the type. Stubborn. And she is rather prone to glare, especially at me.” Annabelle glanced at him again. “She sounds . . .” She searched for the word. “Difficult.” “Oh, she definitely is difficult. But I would not change her. Not for anything.” She still doesn’t recognize him so he asks her for a dance! She finally recognizes him so he brings her outside! “Annabelle jumped to her feet, frowning. So many emotions battled inside her, she snatched at the easiest. She scowled. “Ah.” His smirk widened. “I have found her.” She tried to ignore the fluttering in her chest. “You cannot impersonate a nobleman. The penalty is very severe.” He leaned casually, resting his arm across the back of the bench. “Remarkably, it is no charade. It is the truth. I am Lord Rushford.” Annabelle pressed her fists against her hips, incredulous. “You are an earl? How can that be?” “The title was bestowed upon me quite recently by Their Majesties in gratitude for an enormous amount of Spanish silver.” “You gave the treasure to the Crown?” “Not all of it, of course,” he said.” He bought a castle with the money of Spanish silver and a title and land!! And court lives at the house on his property!!! Property by the sea with a harbor for a ship! And the crew are the servants!!! And house guests!! “Instinctively, Annabelle pulled a curl to cover her ear. Hawke pushed the curl back away. “Don’t hide yourself away, Belle. Not from me. Not from anyone. Not any piece of you. You must be all of yourself.” He kissed the bent tip of her ear. “I’m in love with every part of you. And you must be able to be both the lady of London Society and the pirate princess. You should never have to choose again.” ““Hawke, if you had come to me with no title, with no ship, with nothing, it would be enough. You are enough.” She dropped the mask onto Lord Hamilton’s shrubbery and rested her hands on his shoulders. “You always have been.” He smiled, pulling her in tighter. “Now I really am going to ruin your reputation.” “I do hope so.” She chuckled softly against his lips before giving herself over fully to his touch, soaking in the feel of him.” THE FIRSY TIME SHE FINALLY CALLS HIM CAPTAIN! ““Enough talking,” he said with a teasing growl as he kissed her neck. She combed her fingers into his hair, intentionally dislodging the ribbon holding back his queue. She preferred to see his curls free. “Aye aye.” Hawke tipped his head, one brow raised as his lips pulled in their familiar smirk. “Aye, aye, what?” Annabelle smiled as she kissed him, whispering the words she knew he wanted to hear. “Aye, aye, Captain.” Epilogue they got married! Belle gives birth to a son on the ship!!! The men were so worried for her haha.

I knew I’d love this book from the title and synopsis alone, but it turned out to be even more than I expected.
I was hooked, wanting to keep reading, and then I was thinking about it when I wasn’t.
From the beginning, I was intrigued and excited at the unique plot of how Lady Annabelle Bradford became Belle, a part-time “buccaneer” sailing the seas. She was all that was proper by Society’s standards, yet stubbornly adventurous and opinionated, longing for the salty air. I absolutely loved her fierceness and loyalty.
It’s the perfect swashbuckling rescue adventure that touched my heart at certain moments (the rocks) and kept me on the edge of my seat in others.
The crew is filled with characters that make up a delightful found family that endeared me immediately, and a dashing hero who brings some clashing opinions and banter that make for fun scenes with Belle as they steadily grow closer.

You must read this book! The characters were so witty and fun! The ship, the island, the balls and the Captain! Swoon! I was hooked from the beginning! Enjoy!

I love all of Jennifer Moore's books that I have read and A Lady's Guide to Love and Pirates is no different. It is so good!!
This was such a unique take on a historical romance books. Masquerade balls in London ballrooms as well as adventures on the high seas and pirate galore?! Yes please. Throw in a treasure hunt, a cursed island, breaking a pirate captain out of prison, some rivals to lovers vibes, undeniable chemistry between Belle and Hawke, a lovable pirate crew, action, adventure, danger lurking around every corner, narrow escapes, twists you didn't see coming, and the sweetest romance, and you've got yourself one heck of a story. You done good with this one, Jennifer Moore.
If this book isn't on your TBR lists, what are you even waiting for?! It definitely deserves a place there. I have spoken.

Enjoyed this book! The pirate experience with the unique story line of the aristocratic girl who is adopted by a pirate captain when she was a baby. I was hoping for a little more connection with the MCs, but generally this was an enjoyable story with a sweet HEA. Definitely on my recommend lists!

This was a very fun & swoonworthy mix of regency and adventure with its story of a young lady who spends her summers with her godfather pirate captain on his ship.
Annabelle was born during a sea crossing and pirate captain Reid Courtney claims her as part of his treasure when his ship boards the one her and her mother are on, heading back to England from the West Indies. Many happy summers are spent with her pirate captain godfather and when Captain Court gets kidnapped for his knowledge of buried treasure, his crew come to inform her and Annabelle decides she needs to be a part of his rescue. First though, they must break the only other surviving person who has knowledge of the buried treasure out of jail, former cabin boy and now a captain himself, Captain Hawke.
What follows is a voyage led by Captain Hawke with Annabelle and Captain Court's crew to rescue their captain from the dastardly clutches of someone who only cares about getting the treasure and will do anything to get it.
I loved the found family aspect of the story as all of Captain Court's crew love Annabelle like a daughter & are very protective of her (and she of them) There are several scenes that illustrate how much she cares about their well being, like buying specific medicines while on Tortuga for the cook's hip pain or spending time with Tim discussing rocks which he has an affinity for.
This is a clean romance with only a few kisses.
If you are looking for historical accuracy look somewhere else but if you're looking for a fun read might I suggest spending a few hours with some pirates.

I loved the found family aspect of the story as all of Captain Court's crew love Annabelle like a daughter & are very protective of her (and she of them) There are several scenes that illustrate how much she cares about their well being, like buying specific medicines while on Tortuga for the cook's hip pain or spending time with Tim discussing rocks which he has an affinity for.
This is a clean romance with only a few kisses.
If you are looking for historical accuracy look somewhere else but if you're looking for a fun read might I suggest spending a few hours with some pirates.

When Pride and Prejudice meets Pirates of the Caribbean! I loved this one! It was entertaining and original and just such a fun read! This one would make such a good movie!
I listen to the audiobook and the narrators did a fantastic job bringing this action packed story of heroics and adventure to life.
Love Belles relationship with Captain Court and loved how his crew all loved her like she was their own daughter/sister.
Loved the romance with Hawke and seeing those two fall for each other amid tension and rivalry.
I would definitely recommend this one! And if you can do the audio it was so so good!

Romances! Pirates! Treasure! All in one delightful novel by Jennifer Moore!
Honestly, this book was just such fun to read. I love that Moore took her romance writing skills and research about historical sailing and decided to write a romanticized pirates-hunting-for-treasure tale (I particularly loved the romanticizing, because - as Moore pointed out in her author notes - no one wants a stinky, toothless romantic hero). We’ve got the treasure hunting aspect and the forbidden-isles-and-curses and the sailing, but without too much gore and grime. Since the protagonist is *Lady* Annabelle, we even got balls and masques and a bit of London ton. I had the music from Pirates of the Caribbean playing in my head the whole time I was reading, because that was exactly the sort of vibes this gave, just with way better romance.
Anyhow, go read the book! It’s delightful and the hardcover comes with fancy endpapers and sprayed edges.

Historical + adventure + pirates + romance… yes please!
I thoroughly enjoyed this high seas story. Historical fans and closed door readers need this on their list- an excellent summer read!
I liked all the characters, and the found family element amongst all the pirates.
Annabelle & Hawke! From completely different worlds but both used to having their own way. How these two went from rivals to reluctant shipmates to more was amazing. I wanted to see a little bit more of their romance (because it was so lovely), but keeping the romance a subplot made sense for this story. The focus was on the pirate quests and all the twists and turns and adventures that came along with that- it was so fun!

A fun and “swashbuckling” adventure on the sea! I absolutely loved how the author breathed new life into the Pirates of the Caribbean type story and combined some historical storylines as well! I loved that it didn’t focus on the atrocities real pirates committed but rather the characters themselves, with themes of redemption and integrity! I had high expectations for a story combining elements from Jane Austen x Pirates of the Caribbean, and this story was exactly what I expected and more! I’m hoping the author writes more of these adventures! I also think this story would be a lovely read for YA/teens that enjoyed Pirates of the Caribbean and are also readers! I received a gifted copy from the author.

First off this book is gorgeous 😍 the sprayed edges, the end papers… seriously you had me at pirates. Described as Jane Austen meets Pirates of the Caribbean 🏴☠️ I’ve always had a thing for pirates… I realize in real life pirates weren’t great but give me a swashbuckling adventure on the high seas with treasure & a romance and I’m here for it. Annabelle Bradford an aristocrat was born on the sea where a legendary pirate became her godfather. She spends most of her time in society but spent her summers sailing the high seas. When her Godfather is taken captive she joins forces with the devilishly handsome Captain Hawkes to undertake a perilous rescue mission. It’s full of swashbuckling adventure, dangerous pirates, found family, a legendary treasure & a swoony romance. Seriously I loved every minute of it and stayed up late to finish. If you are looking for a fun entertaining romance this is it. I also loved the authors note that had me giggling.

This is very fun and cute. It's more romance and less historical. Like a fantasy version of what pirates might be like with an adventure and a romance. The author note even admits that these are not real pirates but a romanticized version of them.

Read It!!! Listen to the audiobook!!! I don't care however you enjoy this one, but I completely and 100% encourage you read pick this one up and fall in love with these characters and storyline like I did! I was completely hooked! The narrators were FANTASTIC!!! There are three! You have to listen to know who and why! Loved it!!!
And can we just talk about the hardback copy???? A million heart eyes for the gorgeousness of it all!!! The cover, the colors, the image, the sprayed edges, the interior design, and all of the shades of pink!!!! Seriously my jaw dropped when I saw it for the first time! I've been eyeing it and my hubby bought it for me when he was at the bookstore a week ago! I was soooo excited and possibly...okay totally squealed over how gorgeous it is!!!
The story inside is just a beautiful and fun! It was quite the adventure. I loved these characters. Their resilience and spunk. Their goodness. Their humor. Especially the pirates. They cracked me up. I love how they all protect Annabelle! It's the best! From her birth to now, they're her protectors!
Then enters Captain Hawke. Well, kind of captain. Hahaha! IYKYK! *Giggling* He and Belle are perfect for each other! It might take them just a little bit to understand that, but I promise you, they are perfect for each other. And I was completely in full support of their falling in love. Captain Hawke might infuriate you just a touch, but don't worry, Belle infuriates him just a touch too. *Smirks*
This is definitely one that I will be telling everyone about and encouraging them to read it, listen to it, anything, just do it!!! The end!!!
