Scribbler Guardian #1

The Scribbler Guardian

Rate this book
Jeramiah Poe isn’t just any character in the Realm of Fiction, he is Muse Master—Destiny Diviner—Mysterious Miskriat. Being of neither the Traditional Genre Provinces nor Independent, Poe enjoys an eternal lease on life, so long as his Scribbler keeps him out of publication.

Poe meets Kane, a seven-year-old boy from the Independent Horror Province, where he learns ancient codes are being broken and the horror that should be an act, is real.

But the evil clutching Octava is not new and Seven Arks have been sent to Earth to stop it.

Only something has gone wrong and Poe is commissioned as the 8th Ark of Octava to discover what has become of the Seven.

But his passage to Earth comes with revelations he's not prepared for. Not only does his Scribbler not know of his existence, he's a she that his human form seems allergic to.

Poe soon realizes that with each Ark he locates, his powers grow along with his feelings for the Scribbler. And the enemy will try and use both to gain control of the two realms.

I’m a husband and author, and I may be a little religious about both. I like writing hot sex and encapsulating it in the delicate white silk of devotion, commitment, and psychotic obsession.

I just finished reading this for the second time, why you ask? Because I was trying to figure out how to put into words how I felt about this book. Expletives...lots of expletives would be needed. Did you love Chronicles of Narnia? The NeverEnding Story? Alice in Wonderland? If you love those fantasy worlds with vibrant characters, Heroes and villains then you will love Arks of Octava. Let this fantasy world appease your inner child while the steamy scenes satisfy your adult fascinations!

Let me start by saying that fantasy is not where my heart lies when reading but I was so swept up in this book I could not put it down! I think every author has a signature and one of the many signatures of Lucian is his insane ability to write his characters. He makes those characters come to life and we all become endeared with each and every one of them.

Let me introduce you to some of the characters....

Jeremiah Poe is the main man Master Muse Rider from Octavia. He is a perfect mixture of serious, funny, protective and badass hot guy all rolled into one. His ramblings had me in a fit of laughter throughout quite a bit of the book.

Kane, cute amazing kid from the Horror province who Poe becomes very protective of. When Poe learns that Kane is experiencing real pain in Octava it leads them on a trip to Earth to find the other Arks and on the doorstep of one Scribbler who will steal both of their hearts.

Scribbler (Charlotte) is a funny character as well. Bane did an amazing job capturing the mind of a writer and bringing it to life with her. She and Poe have one thing in common..they both think romance and love are ridiculous but you have to see what happens when changes start to take place. Do they learn to love each other? Do they fight it tooth and nail and give you a very entertaining book?

So Arks of Octava has something for everyone. The kid in you wanting to take a journey to another world. The Adult who wants the steamy alpha male. The hopeless romantic wishing for the HEA for everyone. There is action, suspense, sex, drama and this story paints the most vivid of pictures in your mind while you read. I could see the beautiful music from the Sound Arks, the lights pouring from their instruments while Kane gave it his all as the conductor. I always say I know I have read a really good book when I can see the movie in my head..this was a fantastic movie!

My favorite quote from the book:

"Because of you, Contessant Juliet, I know life. I know pain. I know pleasure," he barely managed the hot rasp. "I know real." He lowered and kissed her trembling lips with a near hallowed reverence."I know the greatest love in all the realms. Because I know you."

Amazing Read

I loved this book. This is my first fantasy story that I read and I'm so happy that I did. If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. I was hooked from the beginning and felt like I was getting to know all the characters as I meet them. So much happens thru out the book and the emotions that you have, oh I cried in some parts.

This story will take you on a trip to where you will read about each character and what their story is. Poe & Scribbler's journey will keep you going and not wanting it to end. You shall face the battles with them and understand each puzzle piece.

Great job to the author on another amazing book. I look forward to more of this series.

I have fallen in love! This book touches so many parts of the reader. From cover to cover the beauty of discovering a new kind of story grabs onto the reader and refuses to let go.

Adventure, suspense, love and sex have been mixed together in this work of art. Every country, every religion for all of time have used music to tell a story, to work miracles, to teach. That is exactly what has been done here. The everyday truths are told in this story that will leave you at the edge of you seat, dying for just one more chapter. From character development to plot lines, this story is utter brilliance.

Lucian Bane has created a masterpiece and I absolutely can not wait for more.

****NO TEASERS*****This book is down right PHENOMINAL! I loved the mix of all genre's. I have never read a book like this and I can't wait for more in this series. I have read other books from the author and loved them. But this one is by far my favorite. I was amazed that the author was able to mix reality with fantasy in a delicious way. Also loved how in Octava each genre is defined by rules and how the Independent author is outside of the typical rules and are frowned upon. I have a feeling this may be a bit of reality as well (lol). I have a feeling that this will become "classic" and never die, just as Poe and Charlotte. This book is a must read!

So interesting and maybe a little scary to even try to imagine how Lucian Bane's mind works to write this story. I am a fan of all his work, but wow he really goes out there with this story and I LOVE it!! Getting to know Poe and his scribbler is a great journey that you just don't want to end. The complexity of the story setting and development leaves me in awe..... I can't wait to read where, this goes next.

Arks of Octavia

My Review

So I have been promoting this book for weeks now and really never read the synopis or anything about it lol. So when I started reading I didnt really know what I was getting into. I am a huge fan of Lucian Bane , so I knew whatever he wrote I would love. I have never really been into the fantasy or paranormal genres, but Lucian Bane has changed that. First with Ruin and now with Arks of Octavia. This book was AMAZING!!! It was the best book I have read by far this year. This is a very heart warming story. This story is unlike any you will ever read. The emotianal journey these characters go through is fantastic. The way they connect and interact together was so entertaining. I laughed and cried so much. It is such an original concept. Kane is an amazing kid and the true hero in this story. I can't ever remember loving a character as much as I love Kane. Mr. Poe and his scribbler's relationship evolves so great. I love the way they interact and come together. Their love in the end is so magical. This is a must read. It's one of the few 5 star ratings I give out. Love, love, love this book. Can't wait for the next one!!!

I was given an Ark copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!!

Firstly can I say that this book is so different from the "norm", you realise that these characters are so alive. Poe being the main character is quite amazing with special powers, the way he cares for his young companion Kane is awesome. The way the story is written is terrific, the words just jump out of the page and hug you, it wraps itself around you like a warm blanket and you become immersed in Poe's wonderful world, the dangers he faces, and the enthusiasm from Kane just ouzes into your soul.

Octava, its a realm of fictional characters, created by the Scribbler who is called Charlotte. Kane & Poe are all part of Octava. Its exciting, dangerous, but believe me no matter what I say here it will not do this fantastic book justice, you will have to read it yourself to understand why this is such a fantastic book.

The Author has created a masterpiece, totally different from anything I have ever read, very different from anything he has written before, but he mastered it to perfection.

I am in awe of the author's handiwork. I watched as he put up beautiful teasers, but was worried I wouldn't like it as I'm not a fantasy reader. BUT because I'm a fan of his work (when I find an author I like, I end up reading all their work), I read it. No, I devoured it. It is brilliant. It's smart without being over one's head. As I said before, I'm not into fantasy because I don't have a reference for it. Maybe I don't have the imagination (shrugs shoulders), but as I read it, any questions I had were immediately answered, as if he heard them (remember this when you read it..tee hee). There's plenty of heart in this story on many levels. I won't restate the plot, as you can read that above (provided by the author). I did cry toward the end as I was touched deeply by the characters' connections. It will turn you on your head with the new viewpoint he has written. Just amazing! Get it NOW then start reading immediately!

Gifted Copy for honest review

Let me start off by saying this man is an amazing writer. He tells his stories so well you can picture yourself right there with the characters as things unfold. I do have to say that this was not one of my favorites from Lucian’s that said it all on me. I’m not real big on fantasy books. I knew going in to this what it was and told myself to keep an open mind, glad I did. I started reading Arks Of Octava and thought what the hell did I get myself into. The story is great and engaging. I have to say I’m glad I did give this one a shot the story took shape it pulls you in and keeps you wondering what is around the next bend. By the end of Poe and his scribbler’s journey you are hooked. I was very surprised how much more I got in to the story as I read. If you’re not a fantasy fan and refuse to give this one a try you will be missing out if you don’t give this read a try. I will be reading more from this series with a very open mind.

Whoa!!!

If you are familiar with author Lucian Bane then you will know that this master piece of fanstasy meets reality is sooooo not the Lucian Bane we know and love!

That being said I have just read and am absolutely astounded at this mans writing ability. Something I personally thought just wouldn't work.....I eat all my words Mr Bane!

Creating a world that incorporates major book genres and bringing said world into reality is outrageously ingenious!!!

The story is exciting and ridiculously awesome!

The story is subtle and ironic(read it, you'll know exactly what I mean) and highlights certain perceptions I feel that have been addressed creatively. There are 'oh hell no' and 'OMFG' and cry/crack up moments throughout this well written, very interesting and highly recommended story.

Definitely a MUST....MUST read!!!

5 out of 5 Stars!

While reading the blurbs and excerpts leading up to the book's release, I admit to being seriously confused as to what it was about. So, while I wasn't sure what to expect, 7% in, I know what I got - “Hill-Derky-Derk-Bomb-Pow”– pure genius!

The entire literary world is “brought to life” in “The Arks of Octava”. Genres, tropes, plots and characters each have been used to world-build the kingdom of Octava, and the results are phenomenal!

Octava is in the Scribbler's Realm, where characters written into existence by scribblers (writers/authors) exist while not being scribbled for. Jeremiah Poe, The Great Muse Rider, Changer of Lives and Definer of Destinies, and a Guardian, lives in Octava. He is also a Miskriat – a character who exists only in his Scribbler's mind, with no story written for him yet. So while he was a defined character, his story was not, and therein lies the source of his power (energy). Other story beings from various provinces (genres) approach him for help from time to time concerning matters outside of their storyline.

Befriending a small, scared boy, Kane, he found wandering in the Horror Province, is what leads Poe to actually step into a story to help the child. Kane and other children are being hurt INSIDE their stories – something that is expressly forbidden in Octava. Poe will have to travel outside the realm...to Earth...to retrieve the Seven Arks, to end the injustice. This also brings him face to face with his creator...his Scribbler, J.P. Howe – a woman - Charlotte!

There is quite a bit of fun...and confusion, as Poe and Charlotte figure out who they are, what is real, and how to go about finding the Seven Arks. Poe also has to deal with feelings, emotions and doubt for the first time in his short existence as coming to 'earth has made him human. Although she is human, Charlotte has to deal with the same issues, having blocked them out long ago and sequestered herself away in near isolation to write under a variety of pen names.

There is an evil chasing them as they begin their journey. An evil that does not want the revelations found out on Earth returned to Octava. Poe and Charlotte have to contend with the evil forces at hand, the lost memories of each found Ark...and each other.

The avid reader, and the passionate writer will devour this tale with glee! Lucian Bane has taken the strands of literature and woven them into a mesmerizing story that is “unputdownable!”

The story does not end in book 1, but there isn't really a cliffhanger – I hate those – but more a pause to regroup...and get ready.

“Arks of Octava: The Scribbler Guardian” is considered a Fantasy Romance, but I guarantee that no matter what your genres of preference are, you will enjoy this book!

An AMAZING fantasy adventure!

This story sucked me in from start to finish. Even if I wasn’t already a fan of Lucian Bane’s books, this one would have sealed the deal. The story comes alive almost the instant you begin to read. The characters are so well written, you feel as though you’ve known them forever.

So many stories have been written & Lucian has presented us with the question of, “What if we really DID bring these characters into creation? Living by their own rules & destinies unknown to those who have created, nurtured & loved them into existence.”

This unique story has everything you need in a fantasy & I was unable to put it down. So much so I have read it twice more! Fall in love with Poe, his Scribbler, & a special little boy that will tug on your heart. Get to know each of these special Arks, following them as they fight to save their own world from corruption. I HIGHLY recommend this book for ANYONE who truly wants to feel connected to a story that has them craving more.

I look forward to the future installments for this trilogy & I hope he finds a way to branch off from this particular tale, as I just can’t seem to get enough of it!

I fell in love with Poe, Kane and Charolette and all the others in this book. I fell in love with Poe in the very beginning of the book he was funny and so alpha male. Then there's Kane I just fell in love with this kid. You just want to grab him and kiss him to death he's that cute. He pulled at my heart strings and never let go. The book has just the right amount of fantasy and love that you can't put it down. Can't wait to read more on Poe, Kane and Charolette's story. Let the scribbler write away to continue the story.

I knew immediately I would like this book, but was very pleasantly surprised with the plot twists and turns! Imagine seeing your literary creation come to life! What a fantastic idea! (Wish I’d thought of it!). I was hooked from the beginning and quickly became invested in Mr. Poe and Kane. The story became really interesting when the quest for the seven arks began and I could not put the book down!
I loved this book! And I can’t wait for the next installment.

I’ve been wanting to read a book by this author for years. After a recommendation by a Goodreads friend I chose this one and dug in. And holy heck! It was freaking amazing!

This was everything I needed in a fantasy romance and so much more. I loved the other worldly feel of Octava as well as Poe’s reactions and thoughts regarding the various characters and areas found there. This has a touch of humor, immense steam, mystery and drama. And then the very best of endings, considering it ends on a cliffhanger which I despise but was so glad to run off of, bringing a dark danger into this fantastical world.

There are no words to describe this book except unique in the very best of ways and with a true love story that took me completely by surprise with the emotions it wrought within me. I will definitely be reading the next book and highly recommend this for anyone wanting a great fantasy read that is completely original in every way.

don't even know where to start with The Scribbler Guardian. I finished this book three days ago and I'm still trying to wrap my brain around everything....or pick up the pieces of my heart may be more like it! Total book hangover!!

First, I shall say that I'm an avid reader, reading about one book a day for the last 15 years with many before that, so in total I've read thousands. Never have i felt so emotional with one!
I'm not going to tell you the synopsis of the book as I'm sure that's already been explained plenty. So I'll just tell MY experience with it and how it made me feel.
I've read some fantasy but have to admit, that fantasy is usually not my favorite genre. Nothing wrong with it, its just never been my preference. But I was totally blown away and swallowed whole from the first page of the Scribbler Guardian!
Watching Poe and Kane bond in a magical mystical world of fiction, I could only envision the amazing surroundings of Octava! Bane's description and his ability to color the world of my imagination is indescribable! I wanted to jump tight ibto the book just so I could explore Octava! By 15% of the way in the book I was already attached to Poe and Kane.
I couldn't sleep as I witnessed the awkward introduction of Charlotte into the story and than began to slowly follow her attraction and pull to Poe as a lover and Kane as a son. The feelings of confusion Poe felt throughout his stay in reality had me feeling bad for him and trying to understand by placing myself in his shoes. In many ways, he was like a child just learning about life.
I never lost interest in this book as we followed the adventure of collecting the Ark's, watching in my head as the story unfolded. Many times I could not put the book down and fell asleep with my glasses on while reading! Every chapter I read led me to more questions of which I hope I will be answered further in the series. My theories on why things happened and how people relate in the book changes the further I got into the book.
By the last few chapters my heart was in my throat. And at the end I sobbed like an emotional woman on her period watching sad commercials!!
Full out cryfest with tears flowing, snotty nose , hiccupping all the way to the finish! I could see and feel Charlotte's love for Kane and Poe and my heart was ripped straight from my chest right along with her!!
Bane has the innate ability to very slowly pull you into his books. He wraps his descriptive fingers around your throat and before you know it your crying, sobbing and confused as to whether you want to finish because you don't want to leave the fictional world hes placed you in! Lucian knows how to write all over my heart with the scribble of his pen or the type of his fingers on a computer!! He will forever be one of my favorite authors and the The Scribbler Guardian has quickly surpassed every book I've read to become one of my very favorite reads!!!
So jump right in...a great adventure awaits!!

I'll admit. I'm not a fantasy fan. However, I am a Lucian fan and wanted to give Scribbler a fair shot. WOW! Was I blown away! At first, I was wondering what was happening, but it all started to come together and Mr. Bane turned me into a believer of this wonderful and unique fantasy.

The plot of this book was genius in my opinion. Charlotte is a very well known author (scribbler) whose hero, Jeremiah Poe, comes to life and knocks on her door. She created him to be her perfect man...a brawny, good looking, hero who has NO interest in romance. What happens to him when he and his vitally important little sidekick, Kane, comes to the realm of his scribbler and discovers he has human qualities that he does not understand?

There were parts in this book where I laughed out loud... when Poe discovered his...well, I'll leave that for you to read and enjoy for yourself!

What the Scribbler doesn't know is that Poe protects the provinces of the genres (horror, romance, paranormal etc). He comes to her world to save his world, Octava. However, there is someone, or something trying to stop them from saving it.

There were so many twists and turns and deep meaning behind the plot and behind each word and each character in this book...I would use the word majestic to describe it. The words towards the end of the book projected a crystal clear picture of a miraculous scene. I would love to see what it would look like in a movie...however, I still don't think it would be as beautiful in a movie than it was in words.

This is definitely a book that I would recommend and I can NOT wait until the 2nd book comes out!

~~Gifted by the Author for a honest Review~~
Poe a Muse is on a mission to find the seven… In his travels he will find out a lot
more that he didn’t know of but will have to accept.
I had to sit and think about it for a bit before writing the review. Out of all his work this
one was different and interesting. Not at all a bad thing, just different. His style of
writing never fails, the content was as I said just a bit unexpected.
A full book length read that was easy but detailed. A unique beginning to a new series,
it will be fun to it grow.

Mr. Bane has an amazing talent to be able to create a world for you from actual book themes.. Or Genres I should say. That has to be a first and that in itself shows how flexible and talented he is, mixed with a bit of hot fan your face scenes.

The ability to make you laugh and sink into his magical world. I Liked the base
of the characters and the bit of mystery. There are some parts that will make you re-read and go no really? Not everything is what it seems. It was a fun read and yes I’d recommend it.

Characters are real in this fantastical story from an author's imagination of a alternate realm of possibilities. The Muse-Rider, Mr. Poe is an unfinished character in an abandoned story, but in the fictional world he lives in he can do incredible tricks, amazing and very powerful things. His journey, along with Kane, take you on a trick of the mind and muse as they attempt to help the world of Octava. Nothing is as it seems, and everything can be rewritten with the power of WORDS!
I don't know how Mr. Bane does it...but I believe that was his best book I've read yet....I'm in tears having finished and absolutely feel the fear and love in this book. So moving and just overwhelmingly heartfelt emotions throughout....can't wait to follow more of Poe, Kane, and his Scribblers journey!
A definite MUST read, any reader, author, lover of books, and scribbler should make this book a priority read! Yes it's that good!!

Well this is a hard review for me because Arks of Octava - The Scribbler Guardian is a Fantasy Romance and is definitely a different genre than what I have read before. I thought it was a great concept. Scribblers writing the stories and there is a scribbler for each genre, Horror, Paranormal, Romance, Fantasy, etc. The characters acting out what the Scribblers write about.

I had a hard time following the story and felt it was very convoluted. I wish there was a kind of road map to the characters to keep all the characters straight. I had to create my own so I started highlighting all the genres and then who the ARKs and Scribblers were. Just to try to help me follow the story.

There is a little cliffhanger at the end so beware but, you know there will be more…… so the story continues! I have a feeling we will see more of Poe, Juliet and Kane! As well as some of the other characters. I give Arks of Octava 3.5 stars.

This ARC was received for an honest review.

Lucian does it again. I was completely taken with this story. Kane, Poe, The Scribbler were written with such care. Poe not liking to be touched, his Scribbler not writing romance and Kane with his keen ability to solve the puzzles so quickly. There was sadness with how Kane had been treated, guilt from Poe's Scribbler with her writing, and humor when Poe had to take time out to go to the bathroom. In the end these characters learned how to feel, to have trust and to love. The path they traveled was truly exquisite. Lucian never fails to take us on a journey that encapsulates us in the world he has created. I love the quirkiness of this story and cannot wait to follow this amazing creation of fantasy and reality. Ineffable as always Lucian!

I had the opportunity to be one of the many to be able to read the ARC copy of The Scibbler Guardian. I have to say that Lucian has outdone himself with this book. The story is amazing on how fiction and the real world come together. Lucian is truely gifted. His writing keeps you wanting more. He catches your attention with every word and character. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to review. I look forward to reading more.

THE SCRIBBLER GUARDIAN IS SPELLBINDING!!!!!

I have to begin by saying that this book is on my list of top ten best reads EVER! It doesn't fit neatly into any specific genre box for me, but it has elements from several genres that combine to make it an incredibly unique story that completely captivated me from the first page to the last!

What is it that makes The Scribbler Guardian so unique? First, the setting of Octava is so fantastical, or is it really? Hmmmm, just one of the many questions from the story that kept me wondering. Next, the characters, they are so tangible. No, wait! This is fiction, they can't be real! Well, maybe just the Scribbler? But I love Poe and Kane and they felt real to me! Poe and his Scribbler, well they.........didn't they? Another uncertainty. Ok, so the plot, that should be easy to pin down and describe, right? Which plot though? There were several of them carefully woven throughout the story that just kept adding more layers and depth and more inquiry. I love a book that keeps me off-balance!

So, to sum it up, The Scribbler Guardian is most definitely a creative masterpiece that kept me totally engaged in living the story alongside these amazing characters, taking their unpredictable journey with them, and loving every minute of it! Well played Mr. Bane! Thanks for sharing your creative genius with us again!

What a wild ride!

This story is one of a kind! I love that Mr. Poe and Kane are both from books come to life in our world. This story is one that will pull you in. You will fall in love with Kane! It is impossible not to! Mr. Poe is what most dreams are made of, hot! Charlotte is Mr.Poe's Scribbler. She brought him into existence in a story that she hasn't finished. When he is sent to this realm the sparks start to fly. Mr. Bane has written a magical story that is as griping as it is exciting. I can't wait for the next installment to see what happens next!!! This book is a great read, you don't want to miss this one! It is definitely a must read!

Romance at its Finest !

I loved the way Lucian told this story. Poe and Kane hooked me from the start . I honestly thought this was going in a different direction . I did not see the romance coming at all. I fell in love as if I were the scribbler.
I can totally picture that this is how the characters feel and how they exist .
Thank you for this suspenseful, exciting, funny and most of all romantic book. I cannot wait for the rest of story.
I highly recommend to everyone !

What a wild ride! Just when I thought I was getting used to being in Octava with Mr. Poe and Kane, they were torpedoed into life on Earth as humans. Did I mentioned Octava is a fictional place and all the characters there are fictional. Mr. Poe is in search of his Scribbler to help him find the way to save people in Octava, like Kane, from being abused and hurt. Their quest takes them on a journey like no other and love rules the day!

Well, hot damn! That was a FRESH and wonderfully crafted tale. I had to spend a few days to formulate my thoughts on this one, figuring out how to put into words the FEELINGS marked into my heart and seeped into my soul after travelling in, and then out, of Poe’s universe. What sort of book was this? Well, it’s a mix of fantasy, adventure, and a sprinkling of romance thrown in as a wonderful and unexpected surprise.

If you love a good fantasy, and a story where the boundaries between worlds collide, then this is the take-me-away-adventure for you. The story reminds me of children walking through a wardrobe and stumbling into a magical world where a lion is king, of a precious girl sliding down a rabbit hole where nothing is what it seems, or a land where the magic of dreams comes alive for a boy and his flying ‘dog?’

In the Scribbler Guardian, heroes are front and center and the villains are very real, and oh so malevolent, yet understated in such a way as to make them even more vile. Such vibrant characters come to life in this book, it makes you stop … PAUSE … and go ‘Wait…could this in fact be real?’ Is it happening now?

That is the true wonder behind the gifted storytelling on these pages … The magic of this book is once you’re a few chapters in, you may just begin to believe the very premise behind the entire captivating world. As a novelist myself, I know I will never again write the same way again. The characters speaking to me to write their stories have always been alive to me, but now they have a home…PRECISELY BECAUSE OF THIS BOOK! They are ALIVE and BREATHE within the world of Octava.

So, let’s talk about some of those characters…

Let’s speak about Jeremiah Poe, the Master Muse Rider, a character who remains true to his Scribbler’s incarnation from beginning to end, and yet even then is capable of an intensity of growth and self-expression. He is a protector, a badass in his creation, he takes his role seriously, and endowed with the physical attributes of an alpha male, imbued with incredibly powerful sex appeal…an unexpected side effect of his Scribbler when he was created. Poe tackles his task with a single-minded determination, never once wavering from his goal, even when faced with an impossible and unwanted ending. He defends those weaker than himself, and it is in his interactions with the supporting characters where we see the soul created for Jeremiah Poe truly shine. His innocence is real. His sexiness is off the charts hot. The combination makes for some seriously explosive scenes.

Jeremiah Poe had me in awe from page one through the end, and yet there was another who stole the show from time to time. Kane, a cute and amazing genius-child from the Horror Province, brings all of Poe’s protective instincts to the forefront. When Poe learns Kane is experiencing true, horrific acts within his story, pain that shouldn’t be real in Octava, Poe is led on a journey to save this wonderful child.

The journey Poe and Kane take leads them directly to Poe’s creator, his Scribbler, a god-like figure who he reveres. Charlotte, a wonderfully funny and flawed woman, has one thing in common with the character she created but never finished writing. They both hate the messiness of romance… which sets up a wonderful romantic subplot to follow. For a woman who despises all things feminine and a man who believes love is a contagion, the path the two of them travel is wonderfully creative and magnificent, and steamy, dreamy, hot.

And, yet, there is a bad guy out there…and Poe is on a quest, one he cannot accomplish without the aid of Kane. Charlotte helps too; assisting Poe and Kane in their search, she navigates the foreign landscape of Earth. The three of them work together…most of the time.

The Scribbler Guardian has something for everyone … Fantasy … Adventure … Romance … Humor … a touch of Horror … and tons of fun. I felt transported into another realm. The kid in me enjoyed the fantasy. The hopeless romantic fawned over the steamy alpha male, and the action adventurer cheered the team closer to the final goal…

I would highly recommend this FIVE STAR book!
