In addition to romance, her work often explores family relationships. She believes that no man or woman falls in love without family influence, for better or for worse. Dark chocolate is her favorite food group and she makes a mean popover. When she's not writing, she loves to bike, kayak or golf. Barbara writes wonderful characters that you feel you know and into a world where you feel like you are walking right beside them.
Her contemporary romance stories come from the heart and hit you in the heart.
I have not read one book by this author that I have not loved.
Grab a book or two of hers and get stuck in you won't regret it if you like contemporary romance and women's fiction stories.

The books in this boxed set are absolutely charming! Wonderfully engaging stories with characters you'll fall in love with and fun settings including Chicago, Savannah, Italy and even Guatemala. Travel the world without leaving the comfort of your easy chair and enjoy these sweet romances. I certainly did!

GOOD SERIES

Really enjoyed this series. The characters were very likable. I think Hot Doc was my favorite so far in the series.

Loved the beginning of Finding Southern Comfort! (No spoilers here.) Harper, Bella and Cameron are all outstanding characters. I almost feel like I know them. This is a prequel to an awesome series of books. I did not want to put this down. I highly recommend the entire series.
The entire Kirkpatrick clan makes appearances in most of the stories. (We should get lots of stories since McKenna has a sister and 5 brothers!)
Her Favorite Hot Doc is well written. The characters are full developed. I had some chores that did not get done because I was too busy reading this book! I highly recommend this book and the others in this series.

These stories can be read separately or together as a group. I had initially read Her Favorite Honeymoon and then went and bought the box set to get the other stories. I loved the Kirkpatrick's and their friends instantly and wanted to hear all the stories.
As I read through the books I loved how Ms. Lohr updated us on the other couples she had already written about, but still kept the focus on the main characters of the books. I recommend these stories to everyone who believes in love and a little romance.

The family dynamics in the Kirkpatrick family help make the series work. I'm looking forward to reading the stories of the brothers' romances.

I love that the city of Chicago and it's environs play such a big part of the stories, as did Savannah.

These stories would have given me joy on their own, but 3 with linked characters was so fulfilling and fun. Loved each of the settings, which were so authentic. Would read this author again in a heartbeat.
