Hopeless romantic Tom meets magnetic Pete and their connection is instant. When Pete reveals he’s already in an open relationship, Tom ignores his instincts and steps into the couple’s world.

But the deeper he sinks, the darker it becomes: half-truths, unspoken tension and the unsettling disappearance of an ex no one dares to mention.

What begins as a modern love story twists into something far more sinister — and Tom soon realises that loving Pete may cost him his safety, his freedom and even his life.

Open relationships are meant to adult, uncomplicated and guilt free. This one proves anything but that. When Tom meets Pete he thinks things are starting to change for the better after the break up of his marriage to Daniel and the death of his father.
When Pete tells him that he is married but in an open relationship and that his husband has his own boyfriend he begins to think that he might be able to accept being in a polyamory until suspicions, doubts and even physical abuse creep in.
What starts out as a fresh adventure for Tom soon becomes something much darker and much more dangerous.

I absolutely adored this book!

It’s extremely dark and twisted (many trigger warnings), yet its dramatic gay humour blends even better with everything going on.

The characters are so well developed, that I honestly felt the ache and disgust in my chest from the psychopathic traits in them.

The suspense and plot twists made me throw my Kindle at one point, and the GASP I GASPED!

The psychological games are sick, at the deepest level (I’ve ever read), so well developed it hurts.

I really hope that more people will discover this book. A true gem!

I’ve read all 3 of this authors books and this one was probably my 2nd fave (after death at the yumbo centre). This book was more of a slower burn but I still really enjoyed it and the last 100 or so pages had me hooked- I didn’t guess the twists either.

I don't think 5 stars out of 5 is enough to do this book justice. It had me on the edge of my seat constantly and the twists and turns came thick and fast, right up to the end. Absolutely brilliant!
