dnf & heroine x hero don’t even meet the halfway 55-60% in this b.tch. almost at the end of the book, literally. this book was complete bs. iono wat I was even reading, it was DAT bad. royce & man of the yr will always be my fave & i’m just gonna quit after this bc genesis is bad as this one.
Bentley, Bentley, Bentley! I had it all wrong. Y’all, I’m not going to lie, I was highly concerned about Bentley because he moved a little too crazy in Royce and Genesis’s book, but whew, talk about a BOSS!! How he and Heidi connected was very kismet, and I loved their story. Heidi’s reasoning for being alone made so much sense, and I’m happy Bentley was able to give her the family she deserved! Now this book starts slow, but once it picks up, you're moving! The twist 🤯 is so good! This is now my favorite of the series! I can’t wait for book 4, that sounds like a marriage of convenience for our girl Mercedes! Overall, I enjoyed this book!
Baby when I tell you Connie wrote the hell out this book. There were parts that had me ready to bite my nails wanting to know how things would turn out. I was giddy cause I knew some mess was about to happen. Anxious cause it was taking me forever to get to the part I really wanted to know about. Mad cause the folks around me kept trying to carry on a conversation and I was trying to pay attention. I was even talking to every character in the book. Here is a brief overview…… Bentley is very unhinged and delusional. When I tell you he played the part of an Atkins. Whew…… Enzo…..Is such a disappoint. He was the main character I kept talking to. (He just wouldn’t listen)
Royce, Genesis, Senior, and Yonnis are P-E-T-T-Y!!!!!
Heidi…..my girl. Sometimes we just want to know you got it.
I won’t say anymore for fear that I will spoil it for someone else.
Just know there is no question when it’s concerning blood.
Enzo being around until 75% of the book annoyed me, but it was necessary to bring the overall plot together.
Heidi & Bentley were cute and I loved that their chemistry and connection was built on the foundation of friendship and not unnecessary sex scenes. That was beautifully done how he catered to her boundaries and CONSENT was ALL OVER this one, bc in the previous books in this series the other Atkins men didn’t give any damns about consent!
It doesn’t matter, cousin, uncle, sister or brother if their last name is Atkins be prepared for craziness and delusion. Bentley is running the Florida streets with a heavy fist ,but little does he know there’s an imminent threat too close for comfort that being Enzo B.a.n. Something happens that Heidi our guarded fmc for all the right reasons why she is the way that she is comes into fruition for Bentley. The pacing of their relationship makes a lot of sense it doesn’t happen fast which I can appreciate. I love Heidi’s relationship with Royce the big brother best friend she didn’t ask for but needed. Also Lincoln so adorable I don’t want to give any spoilers, so buckle up and enjoy another crazy Atkin.
Connie did not come to play! She said we been working her nerves for Bentley and she delivered a good, loving patient unhinged man who immediately knew Heidi was his wife. He was so loving and kind. He did not play about Heidi. Watching Heidi grow was so gratifying. She came into her own on her own time. I cannot wait for Mercedees book! Connie dropped a good little nugget in the epilogue!
Bentley definitely played his role as an Atkins 😌. I loved seeing Heidi finally get everything she deserved ❤️. The dinner table scene had me laughing for real 😂😂, and the ending definitely has me thinking Cedes is up next 👀😭.
I really enjoyed this series. Connie Easton is one of my favorite authors. I rated Bentley's book a 3.5 because it seemed rushed (especially the ending). We didn't get to see the MMC and the FMC's relationship really develop. I loved the storyline and still enjoyed the book. Overall I really enjoyed the series. My favorite book of the series was Royce's.
Connie took me through there. Bentley prided himself on building himself up without the help of his father. There were so many twist and turns and I was like woah. A found love in Prison, a man that should've never been in there. Doing something that you said you would never do. A jealous brother...like Connie through everything in the same hat and said shoot. I loved it.
When a man with power and respect tells you that are his, please believe him. If the man tells you, you’re done please believe him. Jealous, greed and disloyalty will always be a person downfall. No means just that NO. Accepting openly what doesn’t know, is not easily done. Let’s chat!!
First let me say that Royce is just who he is. Though he’s not the 2 nor the 1 to play with, he as silly with those close to him. Ya boy been having issue with Bentley per se, but reality is it was never him. Royce stated from jump that it couldn’t be that the same person he was looking for was family. One thing for sure about Royce is when it comes to family or those he call family he love them and played not a single game about them.
See when it comes to Bentley, he was a different breed. He was that 🥷🏽 that if you seen him it was all bad. Seeing him meant you a problem. He most definitely gave B.D.E, power and respect🤭. The way he kept it real at all times. What I truly loved was when he found out about his family the Atkins and the inheritance, he wasn’t pressed🫣. Ya boy was like, I’ll get to when I get to it. The sad part was there was snake that was already moving and making plays in the background - Enzo. Bent slipped up but that comeback was real🤭. The secret being Enzo honestly left me speechless cause IKYL! Oh then who would’ve thought he would run into that woman that has once caught his attention- Heidi🥰. Listen, he wasn’t playing a single game about her. After that 2nd encounter, the pressure was on. Then the encounter with Senior, Royce & Genesis 🤣. That dislike for Senior was real. The way he set them straight on what it was with him. Stop playing with this man🤭. Like he told Royce, you can keep little ole Sage Spring, I have the whole Florida waiting on me. Again stop playing with this man. One thing for sure, he’s an Atkins because he to exactly what he wants.
My girl Heidi. Let say this first, I am so happy she was able to get the soft girl era that she deserved and more 🫶🏽. What she doesn’t deserve was the trauma that changed her life. No woman should ever experience it. My girl had it rough and just did her but that unexpected friend trauma was never far or allowed her time to self😔. The other thing I loved about her and her life was that Royce was there when needed him along with the rest of his family. I’m not going to lie, when she was introduced I thought she was going to be a problem, so glad she wasn’t 🤭. She was family without the last name. The steps she took to gain her power & straighten out her crown is what I enjoyed the most. Seeing the growth & the changes were everything I need to understand her character🫶🏽. Then the step she took 🥰. Loved it!! Oh but who would’ve thought an Atkins would have eye for her - Bentley! Though she tried, it was only a matter of time. She wasn’t ready for the pressure but when she got ready🤭. Like I said with him, I’ll say with her - stop playing with my girl.
Enzo was a lost and bitter soul😒. The way he went about everything was all wrong. My question is “how many stomps he going to take?” Like ya boy got hands from almost every Atkins 🤭. He was playing the game without looking at hand cause it ain’t no way he thought he was going to get away with what he was doing🤣. Disloyalty and greed was his down fall no question asked.
There’s so much to talk about with this read. If I keep going it would’ve never ended🤭! Them Atkins men were different but got what they wanted. Though it this series, Senior was the common denominator and Royce refused to repeat the cycle🥰. Now want I want to know is what’s going on with Old School cause the way this ended 🤔. I enjoyed this series down and can’t wait for the next installment.
Bentley grew up with a silver spoon and a name that rang bells all across Florida. Power, money, influence—he had it all. So when a letter comes to the house talking about an inheritance was left for him. He is a little skeptical because he really doesn’t know too much about his mother’s side of the family. He is raised by his aunt Daisy. But she never talks about her family. Not really needing the money but not going to turn down money. He decides to go. But someone else had other plans for him, Enzo. Enzo—starts moving funny. Bentley doesn’t know it yet, but Enzo is his half-brother, carrying hatred in his eyes and revenge in his heart. While Bentley moves through the drug game with precision and control—never sloppy, never careless—fate plays dirty. A simple traffic stop turns catastrophic when drugs are “found” in his car, landing him with a 10-year federal sentence.
And while Bentley is locked away?
Enzo steps into his life.
He shows up in Sage Springs pretending to be Bentley, ready to collect an inheritance he believes is rightfully his. The family feels it immediately—something is off and when I say family. Mainly Royce and Genesis, because the Bentley standing in front of them. Is the same Bentley that stole from Royce and tried to ran plays with Genesis’s team. But Mama Iris is welcoming and after Heidi tells Royce to let the fake Bentley go. Enzo aka the fake Bentley sets his eyes on her.
Heidi is Royce’s best friend, a woman whose trust was shattered years ago by a man who violated her in ways that still echo through her life. Her instincts are sharp, and Enzo sets off every alarm she has. When the First Lady and church member try to convince her to rejoin a program tied to her trauma, she hesitates—but ultimately agrees.
That decision changes everything.
Because that’s where she meets the real Bentley.
What starts as conversation slowly becomes friendship—safe, intentional, honest. And then comes the voice note. One message that flips everything upside down. Heidi realizes the man she’s been talking to is not the one walking around Sage Springs. The Bentley she knows is sitting in federal prison.
Without hesitation, she moves.
Heidi convinces Bentley to add her to his visitor list. She and Royce go see him, lay everything out, and from there… the plan is set. Exposing the fake Bentley becomes mission-critical.
But in the middle of all the chaos, something softer grows.
Bentley falls for Heidi—not loudly, not recklessly, but surely. He shows up for her in ways she’s only ever admired from afar when watching Royce with Klarity, and Genesis, with Cheyonne. He offers her what she’s never had from a partner protection without control, love without pressure, respect without conditions, and a softness she didn’t think men like him possessed.
Bentley is unhinged in the most devoted way—delusional in love just like Royce. In his mind, Heidi is already his wife. Her son? Already his. Period.
Final Thoughts: Love is breathtaking when it’s real—when it’s rooted in truth, patience, and intention. Bentley is the kind of man who doesn’t interrupt your healing… he honors it. He becomes the safe place you didn’t know you were allowed to have. The soft landing. The calm after the storm.
And honestly? That kind of love hits every single time. 💔➡️❤️
I had every intention of waiting to read this one… and then release day came and I folded immediately. 😌 After all the chaos that got stirred up in Royce and Genesis’ stories, I knew Bentley’s book was going to pick up right where things left off. But Connie Easton did what she does best and took us in a completely different direction and I loved that for us.
Bentley came in making it very clear who he was. He wasn’t about to be overshadowed by Royce and his spoiled antics, and he definitely wasn’t looking for the Atkins name to carry him. This man had his own money, his own mindset, and his own plan even if he wasn’t totally against the family lending a little help. 😂
One thing this series keeps proving is that Atkins men are built to stand ten toes down behind the women they choose. They provide, they protect, and they make sure their partner’s needs are fully met. Bentley was no exception he showed up exactly how an Atkins man should.
Bottom line? Read the entire series. And if you needed another reason, Connie went ahead and let us know there’s one more coming so yes, I’ll be seated and waiting. 📚🔥
The wait is over and I enjoyed every minute of Bentley. The story was a lot deeper than I was anticipating because of Heidi's involvement but it still spoke to me. Enzo role was a true surprise and his plan was great until it wasn't. He got too cocky and it backfired like no other.
Getting more of Genesis and Royce never disappoints. They had me cracking up at that table and in that office. They are truly brothers in all sense of the word.
Heidi, boo, you found a good man. Before that, you showed us your strength when it came to stepping out on faith. You and Lincoln, girl, the waterworks were non-stop. On to Bentley, he read her like a book and spoke to her with respect and asked although that was just because he wanted her comfortable. We all know what blood run through his veins though. The way he accepted Lincoln and shared that heart-to-heart. Their interactions just soothed me.
We not going to skip on confession scene with Royce. I cried with my baby self.
This was by far my favorite in the series. That ending though.... Yeah, that is going to be something.
This was a good book. Ms. Easton's writing is top tier. But this book is a slow burn, not my favorite kinda book. Royce, Klarity, Genesis, Cheyonne, Mercedes and the rest of the gang made an appearance in this book. Bentley was not the villain that we all thought in Royce and Genesis books. Enzo's part in the book was a teeny tiny bit drawn out, especially since we got a really limited amount of real time that Bentley and Heidi were together. I really feel like we were not given enough time with them. They got maybe 20% of actual facetime....meaning in person together. I really wasn't feeling that, I wish that there more to them. We got one sex scene. Yeah she was a victim of SA, but when she was ready we got one scene! I would've liked to see more of their interactions after that. It was too little. I'm assuming Mercedes will get her own book. Hopefully the author will make this up to us through her book. Se med to se more if the love between Bentley and Heidi especially since she struggled so much with her self worth, confidence, trust etc.
4.5 ⭐️ Bentley has became my favorite Atkins. Bentley made sure he let his intentions be known with Heidi. I loved seeing him stand up to Royce and let it be known that Royce could have a say over everybody else but him. Bentley played no games with Heidi but was also respectful of the boundaries that she had in place. He did his best not push her too far or do too much but he let her be the one to set the pace at which they moved so that way she was comfortable. I liked being able to see Heidi come into her own in this book. She was able to find herself throughout this book and overcame many fears. Granted she will always deal with these issues she is better able to navigate the negative feelings whenever she is met with them. I love that she was able to get the love that she deeply desired from somebody that wasn't just a friend. Overall this was a good story and I was intrigued from beginning to end with everything that was happening. I do wish that we were able to see Bentley and Heidi more so as a couple because throughout the book we seen them as individuals navigating through the world.
I was so confused when starting this story because of events in the previous book. But they I began to understand the plot.
Bently Atkins is a cousin who only knows a part of the story of why he is estranged from his family. Bentley is known and runs Florida. He is aware that their is an enemy in his tanks using his name.
Heidi is Royce Atkins' best friend. He protects and provides for her like she is his sister. Heidi is still trying to grow beyond an incident that happened years prior.
Bently find himself in legal trouble due to the betrayal of someone on his team. He his given 10 years, while sitting grown, he joins a pen pal exchange that puts him in Heidi's path.
A phone call puts him in touch with Royce, and it helps him to get out of the legal trouble that he found himself in.
He knows Heidi is his and puts in the work to convince her to accept his claims.
There was only one thing I didn't like in this story, and it had to do with his niece.
Other than that, it was a good story and a great addition to the series.
I truly enjoyed every moment of this book 😍. Bentley was legit—confident, direct, and a straight shooter with no chaser, giving strong Royce vibes 💯🔥. His personality was consistent and intentional, which made him stand out.
Heidi’s journey of finding herself again was beautiful and heartfelt. Seeing her heal with the support of her friends, therapy, and faith, was beautiful to watch 💕🙏🏽.
Now Bentley… whew. 😌 He was just as delusional as his cousins were when it came to claiming Heidi—and honestly, I loved it. 😂 He called it manifesting and speaking things into existence, and the confidence? Unmatched. ✨. But what made it work was how good they were for each other. Heidi wanted the kind of love she saw all around her, and Bentley truly felt she was his peace 🕊️❤️.
There’s so much more I could say, but I won’t spoil it 🤐. 👉🏽 Definitely a must-read! 📖✨🔥
Big B and the B stand for Bentley!!! These Atkins men are all alike. Bossed up, fine, and unhinged about the ones they love. Once they lock in on the woman they want it’s up and it’s stuck! Heidi had been broken and lost all trust in men after being violated. But when she met Bentley he met her where she was at and moved at her pace but the Atkins way. I just loooved the way he went after her. Not too much but made his intentions crystal clear.
Bentley didn’t want anything to do with the Atkins. Not their money and definitely not to be apart of the family. But after events that happened he found himself building a bond with his crazy unhinged cousins Royce and Genesis. Them three together smh.
This installment of the series had my swooning over the relationship of Heidi and Bentley and laughing at my baby Royce per usual. I cannot wait til the next one. Cause what the hell Mercedes been doing in Vegas?!
Bentley was so good—hands down the best book in the series for me. The family drama was there, but it never felt messy or dragged out; the emotions felt real and were actually dealt with. I loved that Bentley stood his ground with Royce about not moving while still being open to building a stronger family bond. Bentley and Heidi’s relationship had such a natural connection and steady buildup, and I really loved learning about Heidi’s background and how it was woven into the story. I especially loved that Heidi confronted her fear of returning to online inmate chats and ended up meeting Bentley that way, which ultimately helped him get out after a year in prison. I’m really hoping Mercedes gets a book about the mystery man she married in Las Vegas. I just love the Atkins family. 💙
He was a real one… true thoroughbred. A one man Atkins show and seemed to have way more than the rest of the family. It’s crazy that his blood brother set him up and tried to take his inheritance. It’s a good thing God had Heidi finally rejoin the Angels pen pal site. If it wasn’t for her, they wouldn’t know that Enzo was perpetrating being Bentley after having him locked up. He had a hard on for his brother like it was his fault their dad left him. It took a while, but Heidi found her peace, voice and got the family she so desperately wanted. It’s funny how she found her mate in her best friend’s long lost cousin. I wish there was more to the story. Bentley was just as unconventional as Royce and Genesis. He came home and got him a family whether they wanted it or not lol. I really like Bentley!!!
Bentley: Forever An Atkins (Atkins Family Saga Book 3)
I thought Royce was my favorite, but nah it's definitely Bentley. Yes ma'am he can get it. Unhinged, paid, handsome with plenty of BDE, yep my kind of vibe all day every day.
I love how his and Heidi's story unfolded. I always wondered why she was such a loner. I was equally impressed how Bentley deferred to her and didn't overwhelm her with his actions. Don't get it twisted, he's an Atkins through and through, but he was also mindful of Heidi's healing. Beautiful black love!!!
Ceedes have to be up next, and I can't wait. Her story is definitely going to be a wild ride.
Honeyyyyyyyyy Bentley is my favorite Atkins hands down. I didn’t care for Bentley due to the previous books lol. But plot twistttttt for sure. I did wish Enzo would have been wrapped up a little sooner. I only say that because I wanted more of Bentley and Heidi. Their love blooms beautifully but gets wrapped up pretty quick and we get a sneak peek in the epilogue. Singing what a man what a man what a mighty good man lol. Bentley was the man and I loved that he had a back bone. Honey he was a true boss and Heidi knew it. I will say this book starts off slow but once the action starts it’s a good ride. I can’t wait for Mercedes book to come out. Am I the only one who wants a peek into the lawyers life??
I guess I just read what applying pressure looks like. There’s only one Royce Atkins, heck I even accepted Genesis’ cray. Now don’t get me wrong, Bentley is cool. Especially since Enzo had me thinking Bentley was bad and coming for Royce when it was Enzo (handled) setting Bentley up in Genesis’ story. I like “the real” Bentley and see Rheema Atkins blood, not the betrayal part, running through him. My problem is how Bentley, not giving Heidi time to get to know him and feel comfortable before saying she’d marry him and move to FL. She’d been through some traumatic things and was still on a healing journey. I didn’t like how she was weak to accept him basically because he was an Atkins. She wanted what she saw, in the other two couples, Atkins couples. She could’ve had him and Daisy come to Sage Springs if she meant so much. I’m not saying not be with him. Mae a decision and have something on your term is all. Mercedes is gonna be book four, cause y’all know she just married Stricker…oooooh!!!
Ms. Connie Easton really ate this one up no crumbs left. Bentley came from money, but let’s be clear… he was still very much an Atkins, and that alone told me everything I needed to know. I did not see Heidi coming as his love interest at first, but once her story unfolded, it made perfect sense why she clung so tightly to Royce. Trauma will have you holding on to what feels familiar. Bentley, though? Patient. Intentional. And just the right amount of crazy, because chaos clearly runs in the Atkins bloodline. The way this story wrapped up has me wondering if I’m reading the room correctly… Mercedes is definitely up next. 👀📚
Bentley was running Florida rich as ever and not thinking about anyone but one letter, one snake in the camp and he was thrusted in some mess! Locked up for a year, met Heidi by way of a prison pen pal ministry and ended up meeting his forever. Those Atkins are a mess! Ezno should've known better than to try Bentley, he got his whole family wiped out ! Yonnis and Yolani Taylor were excellent attorneys! In the end they got their HEA. Now what's up with Mercedees, did she really marry a stranger in Vegas, can't wait for the next novel. This was an excellent read but edited was needed!
So this book was decent but compared to book one and book two it was a late down… the MMC and FMC didn’t even meet until half way in the book. Which was so disappointing, I wanted to watch the play out of Bentley loving Heidi through her fears, and I felt like how the book made it seem like it effected her, it was skimmed over during the love process… I was also side eyeing the relationship between Royce and Heidi, him needing to get and finance her life, seems stranger in this book then in his… it made me side eyeing then cause if that was my husband… yeah no. Even Bentley was shutting that shit down… lol.
This third installment of the series? Mm. Chef’s kisses.
Bentley is definitely my man — my man, my man, my man. But whew… you can never be too careful. No matter what, you have to stay on your toes, because everybody isn’t for you just because they’re on your team or because you put them on. You have to stay mindful. You have to stay watchful.
And Heidi? I’m so, so happy for her win. She deserved that happiness. She deserved the support, the love — every single bit of it.
I thought books one and two were everything… but book three? Mm. It sealed the deal.
Please wait up for me 'til whenever I get home. I know that you're all alone thinkin' bout what you gone do...I hope that you see it through. & Ohhh you're gonna love me. You're gonna wanna hug me and squeeze me... (Teyana Taylor x Your Gonna Love Me) This was a midweek drop. Omgggg, now let me start out by saying those last two books baby they had me hooked so it was only right that when this dropped I stopped what I was doing to go on over there. Now, Im telling you going into this I was on some f*ck Bentley. Im telling you this was literally a Bentley hate account. Mrs Connie dropped into the 'Morning Collective' on TikTok live the day she dropped and I asked "you gonna try to make us fall for Bentley, ain't it" and as soon as I was good and innittttt the bombs started droppin! Secrets started getting revealed! Baby I was tryna hold on to my good hijab and my edges. I was so locked in you woulda thought I was an honorary Atkins like our good sis Heidi lol. I don't wanna give too much of the story away because if you're here then you already know what foolishness has been going on within the family. This book is no different! Buckle up buttercup and get prepared to fall for Bentley *insert eye rolling emoji here* lmaoooooo
Soo overall this book was good & I would 100% recommend this book as well as the other two books in the series. However, I feel like the main thing in this book was slowly dragged out & overshadowed/took time away from the romance between Bentley & Heidi. In my opinion we didn’t get much romance time between the two & then when we did get it it felt rushed. Cause how she go from being severely traumatized to just being okay with being his in a matter of a couple of chapters & then the book over.
