This is how you write a sequel 👏🏼

Continuing on from More Than Life, Cordelia and Jaspar are already in a whirlwind of adventure and danger. We start in the middle of action, compelled to see what happens. Cordelia and Jaspar have been through so much in More Than Life, and that only doubles in More Than Legend. We get to see their relationship grow in a different perspective. From the action to the mystery to the slow burn, I was invested at every page, and can't wait to continue on the journey with our beloved team.

Book Review (light spoilers):
Jaz & Delia really go through a journey in this book…I literally can’t believe his memory being gone!!! That was a total shock and at first I hated it but as the book went on I loved that I got to watch this new Jaspar fall in love with Cordelia all over again but from a completely different perspective and through different interactions.

There was a lot of exploration and growth in this book and less focus on character development, but it was definitely progressing the story.

The ending scene was super intense and I can’t wait to see how book 3 is going to wrap everything up! I want to know how they are going to get to and save Qualaris!

More Than Legend picks up right where More Than Life ended, with suspense, questions, and an adventurous journey ahead.

Far away from home, Jasper and Cordelia have left their home behind. They are faced with multiple difficulties, with the biggest one affecting one of our main characters. This complicated the already complex quest in search of the mythical island of Qualaris.

Contrary to the first book, there were fewer riddles and deciphering cryptic messages. This left more room for an in-depth exploration and bonding of the characters. Moreover, we get to know Janus more in the sense that there are a few chapters dedicated to him following Jasper and Cordelia. I love that there are multiple storylines besides the one of our main characters. Even though they left their home behind, we are still connected with some of the lovely side characters.

The theme of grief continues in this second book, but in a different way than before. Whereas Jasper and Cordelia bonded with each other through grief over the beloved captain/father, they are now dealing with grief regarding lost memories. It was heartwarming to reread some intimate moments between the two by means of flashbacks and retellings, despite it having to be in unfortunate circumstances. I get Jasper's dilemma, which questions his love for Cordelia, but I can't help but feel sympathetic towards Cordelia and admiration for her respect towards this 'new' Jasper.

I felt this mixed feeling throughout the whole book, between sadness for the lost memories and 'aweness' for the new ones they make. The fact that I highlighted entire pages says enough about the importance of every word.

Thank you again, Bethanie Finger, for introducing me to your world, and I am looking forward to reading the final instalment.

Cordelia and Jaz's adventures continue in this amazing sequel to More than Life. Everything from the first book is expanded in ways you'd never imagine - the characters, the relationships, the world, the stakes. The even more dire cliffhanger of this book will have you thanking the sea Bethanie releases her books so close together!

Great sequel!
I really enjoyed this book. I loved getting to see Cordelia and Jasper fall in love again even through all the pain.
We get to see a side of Jesper we didn’t really see before and we get to know him on a deeper level.
I’m very excited for the next book and getting to see how it all ends!

More Than Legend is an amazing continuation to the More Than Life Trilogy. Where as More Than Life ended on a cliffhanger, this installment takes the story beyond where I expected it to go!

Just when Jasper and Cordelia were figuring out the path of adventures they were going to take, a terrible ambush destroys their plans. Very quickly, Cordelia realizes that her plans with Jaspar (both for their adventures and their commitment to each other) may not work out like she hoped.

The writing in this story is amazing and I love the way the young lovers are torn apart and forced to find their way back to each other. Their journey is spellbinding. The magic and worldbuilding in this tale are just as good as the first, while still building in exciting discoveries for the reader.

I really loved the emotional build up as well as the way the author used different sides of the characters to reveal the story. Can’t wait for the last book!

This book definitely steps up its game from the first in the series. A series of fun twists (that possibly could have been flushed out better) kept me on my toes the entire book. I loved the new dimension of tension that was built between Jasper and Cordelia. Once again I’m left with a cliffhanger that has me reaching for the next in the series.

This was a disappointing read. Overly long and drawn out, nothing really happens, and then there is no resolution, so you have to read the next book. Quite a few typos, the script letter portions were hard to read (and I can't imagine a kid even being able to read cursive as many don't know how to...) sooo, much less positive review than how I felt about the first book. Ah well.

These cliffhangers are killing me! Lol.

But seriously, watching Cordelia and Jaspar’s relationship is everything. I can’t wait for book 3.
