The Land Business: Timeless Principles for Building a Scalable Land Business

Rate this book
You Can Buy the Same Land… And Get Completely Different Results

My wife and I have bought and sold over 700 vacant land properties across the U.S. and built a 7-figure business doing it.

And here’s what most people get wrong:

It’s not about the land.

It’s about how you sell it.

This Book Shows You How to Make More Money From Every Deal

If you have a land business, this will help you close more deals.

If you’re starting out, this will help you avoid expensive mistakes.

If you’ve ever struggled to sell a property, this will show you why.

If you want more deals without more leads, this will show you how.

You’ll Learn How to…

Turn one property into multiple offers and more revenue

Make buyers feel safe enough to say yes

Sell without being pushy or salesy

Increase your customer lifetime value

Use simple frameworks to close faster and more consistently

Build goodwill so customers come back and refer others

The Core Idea Is Simple

Most land businesses make one offer.

Strong land businesses make many.

More offers = more chances to say yes
More goodwill = higher conversions

Money = Goodwill × Offers

Once you understand this, everything changes.

How It Actually Works (In Real Life)

You don’t need more leads.

You need:

Better offers

More ways for buyers to say yes

Systems that increase value after the sale

First, you learn how to get attention.

Then, you convert that attention into deals.

Then, you increase how much each customer is worth over time.

Then, your business starts compounding.

This Is Not Theory

Every principle in this book comes from real deals.

Real buyers.

Real mistakes.

And what actually worked.

If You Want to Close More Deals Without Lowering Your Prices…

If you want buyers to trust you faster…

If you want your business to grow without constant stress…

Then read this book.

Use it.

And see what changes.

Abi Asija’s land investing book, The Land Business, does not just provide land investing advice. The book provides strategies for success beyond just chasing low prices to buyers, which is the focus of those who possess the short-term mindset.Whereas those with the "short-term mindset" are only seeking out the low priced offers, the book will teach you how to get better offers and have buyers trust you in the long term. The examples are simple, practical and can be applied in actual business situations. The focus on ‘goodwill' as opposed to hard sell really caught my eye.

The writing is clear, succinct and packed with information entrepreneurs in any discipline could learn. A great reference for both the novice and advanced investor. One thing I found intriguing was the sense of realness of the recommendations throughout the book. The author refrains from using jargon or technical terms that might confuse the reader and concentrates on the clear frameworks that can be put in place right away.

The chapters on customer psychology and perceived value were particularly useful as they help to understand why customers make their purchasing decision in this manner. I found myself enjoying the fact that this book does not promote a quick fix mentality, it promotes a long term mentality. It's the little changes in the way you communicate, offer and follow up that will make a big difference over time.

It's hard to find a business book that is as easy, enjoyable, and at the same time actionable.

The Land Business is designed to pass along the basic business concepts in a non intimidation and more practical style. Abi Asija explains topics such as offer structures, the psychology of the customer and value stacking in easy to understand lessons. The chapter on safety and minimizing the risk to customers was particularly interesting. I liked the author's approach of saying that a brand is not a logo or design, its goodwill. The book is informational and will appeal to those who like learning through stories and real life examples.

The author also conveys complicated business concepts in a surprisingly easy to understand way. Abi Asija simplifies the customer decision making process down to a set of easily understood rules, which can help improve customer communication and conversions, without a moment's delay. I enjoyed the thoughtfulness that was put into the book and the idea of offering something with a creative twist rather than just a price cut to make a sale. Examples are relevant and meaningful in explaining why some strategies are more effective than others. The style of writing remains clear and interesting throughout, and the book is easy to read, beginning to end. It's a resource for the entrepreneur who wants to have smarter, more sustainable sales strategies.

I'd seen a few books on the subject and had no idea that it would be this simple for someone new to land investing.

Abi Asija communicates ideas in an accessible manner. The practical examples aid the transfer of the theory to the actual business context and so ensure that the lessons stick.

I particularly liked the emphasis on providing comfort for the buyer and not being too aggressive. The ideas are realistic and attainable, even by novice users.

An excellent introduction for those who have an interest in land investing or just want to improve their sales strategies.

This book will be useful for people who have no experience in programming, or who are limited in their experience. Abi Asija's explanations of concepts are clear and there are practical examples throughout the lessons to make them easier to understand. The writing style was very readable, a nice touch since some of the discussion in the book was business oriented.

The focus on customers' trust and value creation also brings a more ethical and sustainable perspective to the advice. The author emphasizes systems and communication to help produce better outcomes over time, rather than on risky shortcuts. It's a motivating read for any individual who wishes to learn some practical strategies without making the usual mistakes.

The Book: The Practical And Inspirational Guide to Building a Scalable Land Investing Business

The Author, Abi Asija, is focused much more on the systems, strategies and mindsets of a business than on the land itself. The book's core concept is very simple and powerful (the combination of multiple offers and goodwill to achieve success). Therefore, it is an easy read for someone who is looking to change the way they think of themselves and their selling techniques.

The book is highly actionable and focuses on providing the reader with real-life examples and case studies that can be used to implement in their own businesses. There are many actionable items that the reader can create when building trust with customers, creating a high perceived value for their product and increasing the overall lifetime value of the customer.

Some readers may feel that the author did not provide enough in-depth case studies to help them understand how to apply the concepts to their own business, however, this book provides a very clear path for those trying to achieve long-term sustainable growth in their business. Overall, this book is a great resource for anyone who wants to build a long-term, system-driven and successful business rather than chase after quick money.

The power of offers and goodwill

The Land Business is one of the best aspects in terms of the psychology of its customers. The well known “Money = Goodwill × Offers” equation is not difficult to understand, but the author shows the importance of it in relatable examples and business insights. Rather than trying out complex strategies, Abi Asija prefers to work on systems that help to convert more and improve the experience of the customer.
The book is contemporary, usable and extremely applicable to entrepreneurs.
It's particularly helpful for readers who would like to grow their business with less bustling.I wanted a little more detailed examples but still felt the book was useful because it's a very practical book. Abi Asija is well versed in the concepts of customer trust and how it affects sales and he makes them easily understood. The writing is natural, making this book easy to read and complete rapidly. I also liked the focus on adding value but not always on price. That mentality can transform the number of entrepreneurs looking at their business. There's a level of detail in this book that the advanced investor may desire, but for the rest it offers a firm base to build upon and how to create relationships with customers.

Easy to Read, Easy to Apply.

I loved the way this book was written, it was approachable. Abi Asija's writing style is if he was speaking to you rather than giving lectures. The business lessons are surprisingly memorable, in the stories of renting cars, exercising at the gym, and traveling. Standing out the most was the emphasis on trust and ensuring that the customers feel safe. It doesn't contain pushy 'sales guru' tips, which helped it to be a fun read. The concepts presented here can be gained by those out of the land business.
The book also provides a good linkage of the simple ideas with larger business outcomes. The importance of improving customer experience to boost conversions, referrals, and profitability is continually proven by Abi Asija. I found the offer structures interesting because it demonstrates to buyers how flexibility presents additional opportunity for them to make an offer. The writing is concise and to the point it does not go overboard with too much verbosity or complexity. The author has indeed learned these things by doing and not just from a book. The book offers an action oriented blueprint to help create a company with a steady and sustainable growth.

Strong Concepts with Real World Lessons

The Land Business has plenty of valuable lessons particularly for those who are having trouble closing deals regularly. The author maintains the guidance and knowledge simple and based on actual experience and not empty motivation. Several themes appear throughout the book and reappear to make the overall message of goodwill and multiple offers stick with the reader. The value creation aspect of the book was a favorite of mine over price reduction. What makes this book fun to read is the way it's written. Abi Asija describes fundamental business terms in an easy to understand way that most readers will be able to relate to, on a personal level. He doesn't make the subject seem threatening and difficult, but keeps it easy and understandable. I also liked the emphasis on keeping the customer feeling good and important, not pressured into making a decision on the book. From that point of view, the suggestions seem more moral and environmentally friendly. Anyone reading this book, no matter their level of expertise, can learn something about trust, communication and how to develop a business they love to work in.

Overall, it's a great informative and practical book for entrepreneurs seeking sustainable growth strategies.

Building Business Through Trust

Abi Asija's approach to business growth is smart and ethical. Throughout, the book is a reminder that it is relationships based on trust and goodwill that are most important, not manipulation or pressure tactics.

I liked the motivating lessons because they are about improving the customer experience, rather than making quick money. The examples are easy to relate to and the writing style is engaging and holds attention.

It's a book that makes you think differently about sales, branding and business longevity.
The good thing about this book is that it is about the ethical development of the business. Abi Asija always focuses on adding value to the customer, rather than forcing a choice on them. The advice is refreshing in that it promotes thinking the long way, more relationships and less short term gains. I also found the examples very real-life as it helps to illustrate why certain strategies would be effective in practice.

The writing style throughout is engaging and easy to follow. The application of lessons in trust, reputation and customer experience were relevant not only for land investing but for entrepreneurship in general by the end.

Abi Asija has a refreshing approach to the topic of business growth. Rather than learning aggressive selling skills, he concentrates on building trust and enhancing offers in time and value to customers. Concepts are easily understood and applied through the examples in the book.

I really liked the concept of the more the people have the chance to say yes, they will say yes. The writing is easy but at the same time effective. If you're interested in sales, entrepreneurship or land investing, you will find this a great read.

What I love about this book is the wide variety of lessons that are applicable. Whether you're in a land industry or not, some of the concepts of customer psychology, trust, and value creation are applicable. Abi Asija shares strategies for businesses to gain more business through enhancing the buying experience rather than simply the price. The examples used are simple but effective in assisting readers to relate theory and practical instances.

I also liked the aspect of long term business relationships and repeat customers.

The book is contemporary, business oriented and geared towards developing businesses that can be sustained incrementally over time.

This book does a great job of illustrating why it is more important to have trust than flashy marketing. The author Abi Asija explains to us goodwill is something that companies create over time by customer experience and keeping the value. The examples were a great help to remember because they linked commonplace circumstances to bigger business lessons. The style of writing is smooth, conversational and easy to follow. The concepts are easy to comprehend, but have depth when executed properly. A good book to read if you want to grow in the long term. Another reason I liked this book is that it has a healthy mix of practical business information and stories. Abi the author takes mundane moments to enlighten readers on the psychology of selling, how to understand customers, in a manner which is easy to follow and natural. It was particularly helpful to focus on making several offers, rather than just one sales pitch. I also liked the idea of establishing a customer base that would trust the brand over time, but not necessarily for the short term profit. This outlook renders the strategies more viable and achievable. Overall, the book provides valuable information and is readable and yet user friendly.

I was most impressed with the Land Business for being honest and approachable. Abi Asija does not believe in making things overly complicated and doesn’t believe that things will just fall into place. Rather, he presents the lessons he has learned in real life situations and explains them in terms of relatable stories.

The emphasis on goodwill and trust with the customer makes for more human and relatable advice than you'd find in most business books. It's not an over ambitious stretch but it's inspiring. And the suggestions are relevant to basically any type of business.

I feel the ideas in this book are still relevant after reading it. Abi Asija's explanations are clear and easy to remember, and they can be used in real life situations. The talk around experiences customers remember and how that eventually turns into a brand's reputation was particularly topical for me. The examples used throughout the book help to reinforce the lessons without causing repetition and being overly burdensome.

I also felt that the tips were about building trust and communication rather than on being aggressive in the sales approach. A thoughtful business book that you'll remember the lessons from.

A fresh way to think about growth.

This book truly has changed my way of thinking about business. However, Abi Asija the author says that it's not just about finding deals; it's about building trust and offering more opportunities for customers to say yes. The narrative approach keeps the book captivating and the lessons based in reality rather than theory. The attitude of the chapters was very positive and motivating.
If you're a novice or a seasoned land investor, there are concepts presented in the book that can help you thrive without the stress or the pressure. This book has a particular emphasis on relationships and reputation that sets it apart. The refrain of this book is that businesses perform better when they add value rather than continually cut the price. Abi Asija demystifies how improved offers and customer experience results in better conversions and repeat customers. The ideas are clearly presented and the examples reinforce the “how” of each idea or concept.

A smart book, which is strategy oriented and provides the readers with practical solutions to enhance the business model. The longer you read this book, the more important the message of long-term reputation will be. Abi Asija tells the businesses that their success is achieved when their customers feel respected, understood and valued.

I enjoyed the author integrating simple customer experiences with greater business results, such as referrals and repeat business. The writing is still easy to follow and keeps the dialogue style, making it easier to digest lessons. I also appreciated that there was no unnecessary complexity to the advice given and it was practical rather than theoretical.

A wise and practical business book with a message that trust and goodwill are of lasting value.

This book provides a solid understanding of what scalable businesses, really, are. Abi Asija says that it takes trust, offers to many, and systems that add value to customers over time for long-term growth. The ideas are applied practically and are presented in a clear and simple manner. I loved how the author provided meaningful business insights. From land investments to any other line of work, the principles outlined here can be used to enhance sales and customer relations.

As I read on, I more and more like the author's philosophy which is very simple. Looking to long term success, rather than just short term leads, is best done by fostering trust, communication and customer experience, which can be seen in the work of Abi Asija. Pacing is maintained throughout the book with examples to make the lessons easier to remember. I really enjoyed the aspect of the author's writing about alleviating pressure in the sales process and making the purchase easier. That approach is more modern, more realistic and more sustainable than being on a kind of aggressive sales approach. It is a book which promotes intelligent but gradual growth rather than short term thinking.

Making Ordinary Principles Work Wonders

The Land Business by Abi Asija is a refreshing view of what really makes the difference in land investing as far as success is concerned. The book does not concentrate on acquisition, instead, it concentrates on selling strategies, goodwill and value creation.

The Money = Goodwill × Offers is a simple but powerful concept, which is easy to comprehend and use in real life. I liked the way the author simplified the complicated sales psychology into steps with actionable steps without being overly technical.

The focus on trust, customer experience, and multi offers constructions seems to be most applicable not only to land investors but also any entrepreneur. It comes in handy particularly to novices who have difficulties in closing deals, and also experienced investors seeking to scale in a sustainable manner.

The conversational tone renders it interesting, whereas the insights seem to be rooted in the practical experience as opposed to theory.
An extremely realistic and thought provoking read.

In The Land Business, Abi Asija delivers a refreshing perspective on land investing by shifting the focus from transactions to relationships and systems. The book highlights that growth doesn’t come from more leads but from better offers and stronger customer trust.

The book is also a great resource for beginner investors because the author does an excellent job of simplifying complex business concepts. There are many things you can do to create multiple offers, use trust to increase conversion rates, or build a scalable business using repeatable systems, but these ideas are explained in a straightforward way that will help even novice readers understand them.

This book will be valuable to anyone looking to create a stable income through multiple sources rather than relying solely on one-time successes. While many sections may appear short, they are quite powerful due to their straightforward and practical structure. In conclusion, the book will provide an excellent starting point for anyone serious about developing a scalable and sustainable land investment company.

A Change of Mindset to Sustainable Success

This book "The Land Business" does not seem like a guide, rather it is a change of mindset. Author Abi Asija goes against the popular assumption that the key to success in land investing is to identify the right property. The lessons are relatable and memorable, as the storytelling technique, such as the one of the rental car and gym, makes them easier to remember.

The most remarkable thing is that the emphasis is made on goodwill and long-term relations, and not on fast-profits. It is encouraging that a business model of trust and not coercion is made.

The writing is simple, invigorating, and simple to read, which would be the best choice in the case of readers who are confused or disheartened. You do not only acquire strategies by the end but you are sure enough to put them to the test.

It is an excellent book to those who desire to develop a business in a consistent and ethical manner.

Scalable Growth: Value and Strategy

The Land Business has a well defined business philosophy, which is the value creation rather than competing on prices, as established by Abi Asija. The equation Money = Goodwill x Offers is not only a catchy one but a model which can be scaled to produce growth in the long term. The book clearly describes the reasons why optionality to customers is increased to achieve more conversions and lifetime value. The only difference with this work is that the focus is on systems as opposed to one-off tactics.

The analysis of goodwill as brand equity is especially insightful as it is consistent with the contemporary business thinking. Though the book does not use a lot of technical jargon, it nevertheless provides some valuable strategic insight.

It is an excellent tool to those entrepreneurs who are willing to go beyond transactions and create a sustainable and repeatable business model.

Things you really should know in a human and easy to understand manner

"The Land Business" reading this book is like talking to someone who has been in the land business and who has come out with what actually works. The author Abi Asija illustrates the concepts that otherwise might seem complicated with the help of straightforward language and ordinary examples. The lesson content is easy to remember as the stories are about travelling, shopping and gyms. I particularly appreciated the way the book is aimed at getting buyers to feel comfortable rather than pressured- it is a refreshing break to the type of sales advice that is generally given. It does not suggest an immediate success, yet it indicates a wiser approach towards growing progressively. Though not in the land business, most of the principles can be applied to other areas. You can easily read it, it is practical and has ideas that you can begin to use immediately.

"The Land Business: Timeless Principles for Building a Scalable Land Business," by Abi Asija, is an insightful and actionable guide for anyone who wants to invest in land. Abi breaks down complicated topics into easy-to-understand steps for newbies, but will still provide value to seasoned investors. The biggest thing that stands out about the book is its emphasis on scalability; while Abi teaches you how to successfully close deals, he emphasizes building systems that produce predictable results. He heavily stresses the importance of developing your mindset, being disciplined, and thinking long-term in real estate. Real-life stories and systems help put everything into perspective, so you can see how to apply what you learn. There are several areas of the book that may seem redundant, as they reiterate key points, but they do so in a way that will leave you with a strong foundation for building a sustainable land investment company.

This book was very easy to read, even for an investor new to the game of investing and sales. Abi Asija's explanations are super easy to understand, but he doesn't talk down to the reader. Lessons are realistic as they are based on real experiences, not abstract theories. The focus on creating a welcoming and valued customer experience was a real highlight for me.

A valuable book for anyone who is a novice who is interested in learning basic business lessons.

Another strength of the book is that it maintains all concepts to be practical and relevant. In Abi Asija's clear and concise style of explanation, readers will not be overwhelmed with technical jargon. I had a lot of fun with the debates over minimising the customer's risks and making more attractive offers. Those thoughts seem a lot useful for entrepreneurs looking for enhancing conversions and customer satisfaction. The storytelling method helps to maintain interest in the book and to reinforce the key lessons.

The author Abi Asija has breathed life into this dry sounding topic. The book is packed with practical tips, real life examples and helpful frameworks which make business growth more comprehensible. I enjoyed the emphasis on a better customer experience rather than discount. The pacing of the writing is great, and the lessons are actionable from the get go.

It's informative, motivating and a fun read from start to finish!

The principles taught in this book are not just for investing in land but can be used in multiple business options. Abi Asija shares strategies for driving improved customer experience, which will ultimately result in higher conversions and loyalty in the long run. The book also emphasizes the need to be creative in structuring offers to customers rather than just discounts. That's more of a long term solution.

Overall, it's a sensible and useful resource which promotes smarter business decisions but doesn't leave the process unnecessarily complicated.

Excellent Ideas that have more to be developed

The Land Business has a good conceptual framework particularly in its focus on goodwill and several offers. Abi Asija has a good grasp of the sales process, and presents it in a clear and understandable manner. Nevertheless, the ideas presented to the readers may seem slightly duplicated by other readers, as the main principle is re-enforced throughout the book. Real life illustrations are useful. This book is able to make what is often viewed as complicated, simple. It is especially helpful to novices who need more clarity and guidance, but more sophisticated investors might desire more technical information.

On the whole, it is a good resource that focuses on mindset and strategy, rather than on complexity, which is why it is a good read, even though it has some drawbacks.

If you're interested in real estate entrepreneurship, this book can be a very inspiring and helpful guide for you.

It's very informative and worth reading. I liked how author's approach towards land selling is simple yet practical. One of the lessons that I liked the most and can be implemented in other businesses as well is if you increase the number of relevant offers, you create more chances for someone to yes to your offer and if you create goodwill, more of those offers convert.

This book is not about tricks and persuasion tactics for sale, it's about structure, how to make buyers feel safe, sell without being pushy.

Clear, Practical Lessons That Actually Change How You Sell

I wasn't exactly sure what to expect when I picked this up, other than land talk, but it’s really about how people buy and how businesses actually grow. I liked “Money buys compliance. It does not buy ownership,” especially with the breakdown of autonomy, investment, and reciprocity, and how that actually shows up in teams. The sections on volume over constant tweaking and simply being available hit hard and felt immediately usable.

The core premise of the book is that success in real estate flipping or investing is not dictated by the piece of earth itself, but by the frameworks used to market and transact it. Provides a blueprint for beginners to avoid common pitfalls associated with land flippers, such as overpaying or getting stuck with illiquid properties.A pure corporate business book. It is not about real estate, but rather the business strategy of "landing" a corporate client and "expanding" revenue within that account.

The Land Business feels less like a business book and more like someone sharing the lessons they learned the hard way. I won this in a Goodreads Giveaway. It had some interesting points, but it read more like somebodies notes and less like an actual book. I'm honestly not sure if I liked it or didn't like it. I think maybe it worked well in some areas but others could have maybe used a bit more context. All in all, not bad.
