Ned is sent away on holiday to the seaside, to stay with the Pickering family, who are shifty and unpleasant. When Ned meets the Dallaker family on the beach and discovers that they are searching for their long-lost treasure, he wants to help.
Helen Cresswell (1934–2005) was an English television scriptwriter and author of more than 100 children's books, best known for comedy and supernatural fiction. Her most popular book series, Lizzie Dripping and The Bagthorpe Saga, were also the basis for television series.
I really liked this book. It was something I found unexpectedly at the library. It's about how old friends can fall apart and new friends can come together.
