The final chapter in the series that began with The Quest for the Diamond Sword—will Steve and his friends find Mine Mountain and get the legendary treasure?

When Steve’s friends Max, Lucy, and Henry get their hands on a map with the location of the legendary Mine Mountain, Steve questions if the map is a fake. Going to this fabled mountain, rumored to contain an endless supply of diamonds, is every treasure hunter’s dream. Many believe the mountain doesn’t exist, and although Steve is doubtful about the map’s authenticity, the gang convinces Steve and Kyra to embark on a journey to find this magical mountain.

On their trip, Steve and his friends stumble upon a town filled with friendly folk. While there, they meet other treasure hunters who are also searching for Mine Mountain. As the group joins forces with their new treasure hunter friends, creepers attack them. The closer they get to the famed mine, the more creepers appear. The group doesn’t know if this is the work of a griefer or if the creepers are trying to hide something.

Will they stop the creeper attack? Will they get the diamonds? And should Steve and his friends trust these new treasure hunters? It’s a test of trust in this journey for treasure. Find out in this thrilling sixth and final installment of the Unofficial Gamer’s Adventure series!

I enjoyed this book because I like Creepers. I also enjoyed this book because I like the part when they all went back home. I also liked the part when the main characters battle the Rainbow Griefers.

I will admit up front that I haven't read the previous books. I will also admit that my reading of this wasn't complete; having only read about halfway through. My family picked this book up some years ago during the Minecraft craze most people were in; including me. They bought it for my sister, later on she gave it to me, I lost it in my room, and finally I found it just yesterday (8/12/2017) and attempted to read it. This review is the product of that reading.

Now, moving on past my little introduction. I'll try to write this review in segments; on each problem and enjoyment.

Problems:
1. This book has no tension.
Winter Morgan tries not to deviate from Minecraft's in-game rules. Meaning, she includes the respawn functionality. This really doesn't work in terms of tension. I don't know if this is the same with you, but with me when reading an adventure novel I'd like to have the characters have a feeling of actually needing to care about what they're doing. The protagonist and his party in this story can die infinitely, and if they do die it isn't specifically stated they'd loose their items like one would do in-game; the map used to find Mine Mountain would still be in their inventory. Plus, it's heavily implied that the miners who originally had the map made many copies, and sold them off around the world; it's easy to get one. Nevertheless, this problem makes the story feel mundane.
although, she does try to rectify this with, "Steve didn't want his friend to not see Mine Mountain". I don't think it works, though, at least not for someone older; like myself. Now, she does do this correctly once when describing Steve's apprehensions on Thomas going back to his griefer ways; aka, destroying Steve's town.

2. The writing is poor.
I have no problem with the sentences in the book; I cannot judge, but I do have a problem with the dialogue. I find it clunky using 'health-bar' and 'hostile mobs' to describe things, "we need to get get back to my house before hostile mobs start spawning," is an example of this.

3. The author keeps to Minecraft mechanics too much.
Winter, as I've said, keeps to the games mechanics religiously; only deviating when it's necessary to the plot, as in, having the players (Steve and friends) live in the world aside from playing the game. I've said my piece on the respawn dilemma, so we'll go into something else. Sometimes, the world becomes incredibly unbelievable. One of the characters uses a name-tag to name a hostile rabbit "toast" and in doing this the rabbit becomes passive and changes color; this is an Easter egg in game. It doesn't work here in a narrative.

Enjoyments:
1. Sometimes the author had good writing.
I mentioned this above, but when she actually brought something to the table that wasn't, "oh, I'd feel sad if my friends didn't see Mine Mountain" it becomes more of a plot. I said what I said above; the example is there.

Conclusion:
This book reads as more of a guide to Minecraft than anything else. The plot isn't as good as one would want. In reality, this would only be good if read by a younger audience, or someone who's really into Minecraft and wants something more.

I liked this book because I like creepers. I also liked this book because Steve was smart and didn't have a beacon because he didn't spawn the wither which is smart.

Clash of the Creepers is an unofficial gamer’s adventure by Winter Morgan. I couldn’t put this book as I read about Steve’s friends Max, Lucy, and Henry. With this adventure filled book, it was really hard to take a break from it. As they get their hands on a map with the location of the legendary Mine Mountain, Steve starts to question it, doubting the map and thinking that it’s fake. During their trip, Steven and the gang stumble upon a town that’s filled with friendly people, they also managed to meet other treasure hunters who are also looking for Mine Mountain. As these groups join forces, creepers, green dangerous monster that explode, attack them. But they closer they are to finding the mountain, there creepers appear. Will they ever find the diamonds? Or is this just a trap for Steve and his friends? I gave this book a 5 out of 5 because it’s a very exciting book and, even though Minecraft isn’t real, always leaves me wanting to know what happens next.

Clash of the Creepers by Winter Morgan Clash of the Creepers is an exciting adventure book that tells the story of a group of kids who must work together to save their town from a hoard of creepers. This is the sixth book in the series, but you don't need to have read the previous ones to enjoy it. However, I would give this book only 2 stars. While the book is still entertaining and action-packed, I feel that the plot is a bit too similar to the other books in the series. The characters are well developed, but some of the jokes fall flat. I would recommend this book for kids who like games and adventure, but I don't think it's as good as the previous books.

It was pretty good! Better than most minecraft books! But this just like it had plenty of action and it was pretty good! And the chapters were pretty short which I really like! (I'm not a fan of long chapters). And it was a pretty short book! But overall it was good!

This book better than I expected it to be. It's at a nice and short length, its medium - fast paced, and the book is mostly plot driven . The story also takes place in many diverse settings. However, there are some flaws. Wording was a bit limited since this is mainly a kid's book. Not too much character development, and the ending was to be pretty expected. Not saying the ending was bad though. It was pretty fun to read and it was a good installment to the series. I recommend this book to people that like minecraft, or video game novels in general. It's also a good pick for people who like fiction, fantasy, and adventure, as an adventurous and exciting mood is portrayed throughout the story.
