Title: Cupcakes and Crushes (Stuck On Valentine's)
Author: Lita Harris
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a quick, sweet and cute story. The FMC Dani who was a hardworking, sweet paralegal that worked at a high end law firm. Then the MMC Logan was a confident, sweet intern. The story started when they got stuck together when the lights went out. It was cute they got stuck together on Valentine's Day, and that was the start to a beautiful relationship. I love how it was a super quick pace and beautiful story. Dani wind-up snagging Boston's most eligible bachelor. I Enjoyed how everything just fits together beautifully, the story was written so well I love how the characters are written as well. I really did love the ending and how everything in the elevator went. It was chef's kiss, such a beautiful thing. This is the first story I've ever read by this author and I really enjoyed it so I look forward to many more from her.

It's a super short and quick read.

Technically, it's based on a single day/night, but it's rewarding to see how Logan is shy at the beginning and completely transforms by the end of the night. He's more confident and sure that he wants to be with her.

Dani, despite her physical insecurity and partial shyness, also undergoes a small 90-degree turn by the end of the night; her shy side didn't completely disappear. However, she was very sure that she was falling in love and wanted to explore that feeling.

This is one of those novels where the tension between them is palpable from the start; it just needs a little push.

I received this advance readers copy (ARC) in Spanish from the author in exchange for my honest review.

This was a fun read. This is a novella where everything happens in a day, especially in Valentine’s Day at night. The characters are very likeable and relatable. Our FMC, Dani, is a woman who we see growing throughout the night and face some of her insecurities, which is her body image. Logan, our MMC, is a man that we see growing throughout the night.

The romance didn’t feel instant of forced. The characters were flirting with each other from some time, so they just needed a little push for their romance to explode. I feel that the author did a great job with the romance. The epilogue showed us their lives after the incident and was manageable.

It was a pleasure to read this novella. I would like to know more about Logan and Dani. It has potential to become a novel. In general I really enjoyed reading this novella and I do recommend.

This book was short and not so sweet 0.0

At first I was so confused why a working professional would have a crush on an intern until I realized (and the book mentioned) it was a small age gap since the intern was still going to law school, just a few years apart from each other. After that I was totally okay! Our FMC was cute, flustered, embarrassed, and a little unapologetic in her own way, she was figuring out what was going on (all the while still doing her job and a GREAT job at that!), while the MMC seemed to be confident, but you could see his nerves easily. He was sweet and thoughtful, wasn't rushing or pressuring anyone, and you could easily see their mutual attraction to each other. With a very short miscommunication that was super easily solved, I really liked it!

I can’t tell you how much I loved this novella, it was cute and sweet with just enough spice to satisfy my smut loving heart.
The FMC Dani is such a sweetheart and deserves all the love in the world, she’s a curvy girl which I always love reading in my books. The MMC Logan is also such a green flag it hurts, she kind, considerate and loves taking care of his girls needs 😉.
In under 100 pages I was treated to pretty much everything I’d get in a full length book and it still amazes me that authors can fit all that detail in to so little pages. That being said I understand it’s a novella but I loved the chemistry between Dani and Logan that I wished it was longer, I NEEDED more!!
But other than that I love this novella and I hope you guys go out and get your copy on 30th January 2026.

What a cute little spicy workplace novella just in time for Valentine's Day! This is a bite size book with a little punch! This novella has just enough spice, close proximity, small age gap with FMC being older, in a workplace romance. Things heat up when they are forced to work together on a case. Tensions rise will it get the better of both of them?

I was given this book to read as an arc. I don’t usually like novellas because it doesn’t leave enough room for tension to build or character development. However I have to say in the short story there was a ton of tension and enough detail for you to actually feel like you got to know the characters. I wish this was a full novel because I feel like if given the opportunity I really could have become invested in these characters and story.

This was a cute Novella, close proximity, sexual tension, lil bit o spice. Zero cupcakes.
Not much plot, and lose ends weren’t tied, but it did what it needed to, short Valentine’s Day read, cute FMC, Nepo baby MMC, power outage

It is a short, easy read that’s perfect for in between heavier books. The story is sweet, spicy, and very light on plot due to its length. Ideal if you’re looking for something quick, fun, and low-stakes.

Such a fun read! Snowstorm, power goes out, pizza by candlelight, and a great ending? What more could you ask for? Maybe a second book perhaps? I would love to know what happens next with Logan and Dani

Thank you to the author, Lita Harris for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book before it was published!
This was a super quick read and great for Valentine's Day. I love the idea behind this book but I definitely think this could be expanded into a full book and give more details and history on the characters and how they went from being locked in to where they ended at the end of the book. Rating four stars - it was easy to read, to the point and overall enjoyable.

This one caught me by surprise!
The writing, the tension, the characters- chef’s kiss 🥰
Let me preface this by saying, I’m usually not a fan of novellas or writing in 3rd person BUT this book did a number on me.
The writing manages to pull the reader in and let us inside the head of the fiery redhead paralegal Dani and her inevitable attraction to hotshot Harvard intern Logan.
I won’t spoil too much of the book - I will just say it’s a PERFECT romance read in between-book. You will not regret picking this up✨
