What an emotional story by a mother who worked so hard, lived to protect her family, loved her family and fought so hard to prove the truth of how her son tragically died at Hillsborough in 1989.
Being a mum of a 'die hard' family of Liverpool supporters, yes I am biased, but I do have a heart.
Anne accounts everything - from the injustice, the false allegations, inaccurate medical and match reports, the humiliating public insults, and above all the cover ups!
Sadly, Anne Williams died before Justice for the 96, now 97, was proven in the courts, The families of all those affected never gave up hope, they continued to carry on fighting to not only clear their families reputations but to get justice for their fallen and affected loved ones.
Whether you chose to read and believe how the establishment and law lied, please read and feel her actual pain. A pain to find the truth of how her son died and could have been saved by trained medical staff on the day; Anne's fight is one of 97 families, can you ever imagine how those families felt, continue to feel and the pain of loss which continues today.
(My husband and elder son had tickets to go that day, but as fate had it, Hubby was late getting back from work and didn't manage to go. He went the year before so knew first hand how mistakes and errors in crowd control happened; he got to see the game that year and came home with a full ticket- proving the turnstiles were poorly managed). Lessons learnt? Looking at recent events, sadly not.
RIP Anne and all. Much love to your family and families of the 97.

Despite me not being a Liverpool supporter I really enjoyed reading this book and think the late Anne Williams was such an inspiring lady in working with the other Hillsborough families for the truth for their loved ones who died in such tragic circumstances. I recommend all people to read this fantastic book.
