Incredibly comprehensive account of an incredibly pertinent part of the past decade of Philippine history. I enjoyed how the book remained true to journalistic principles, relaying piles of fact before giving analyses that contained the authors' takes. The effort put into gathering the information is also more than commendable.

This book demonstrates not just the implication of identity politics and which superpower they lean towards to but showcases as well how personal their choice of supported superpower is. Philippines, as a middle power, rooted from its colonial history unfortunately suffers this fate of being in between rival powers, as presidents come and go, they kiss ass left and right, only for their unrequited love to imply great damages in our security in the future.
