From Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Emma Slate comes the first book in the Tarnished Angels Motorcycle Club series.
My life is boring. Monotonous.
And then tall, dark, and dangerous walks into the bar where I work. Before I know it, I’m in his arms asking him to rescue me. He’s Colt Weston, President of the Tarnished Angels Motorcycle Club.
Colt makes me feel alive…and wanted. The club embraces me as one of their own, and when a violent rival threatens to tear us apart, I learn what loyalty truly means. Family. Sacrifice. Revenge.

This was incredible. I read this story when it first came out but listening to the audiobook made me fall in love with Mia and Colt all over again. I am obsessed with how Mia and Colt meet. its not so much a meet cute but I think our boy Colt is definitely smitten with Mia from the very first second. This audio had my sobbing at some points. it was so emotional and the way Troy and Stephanie delivered each and every line had me utterly hooked. I can't wait for the other blue angels to come to audio.
What a fun listen! I'm a fan of MC romance and this one was a good one! Loved the banter between Mia and Colt, and the relationship she had with all of his MC brothers.
Mia is a bartender and asks Colt to help her when some guy won't stop flirting with her. He kisses her to help her out and that's the end of their interaction. He leaves and she thinks she won't see him again, until she overhears some shady dealings her boss is part of and plans to leave town... except, that doesn't happen.
The audio had me hooked from the beginning and kept my attention throughout. The narrators did a phenomenal job and that helped portray Mia's backbone, especially in an MC where women aren't allowed to be in "club business". The instant mutual attraction between Mia and Colt was also well written. They didn't jump into bed immediately and there was a build to their relationship. Sure, it was still quick, but it was well written.
Emma was quite vague about exactly what the club does, and I guess that's because the story is told from Mia's POV. I do love how she knew Colt would be the one to keep her safe. I was a lot shocked with the plot twists but thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook.
I think the only thing that really disappointed me was that Mia never rode on the back of his bike, maybe there's a bonus chapter where he takes her on a ride? IDK but that's the only thing I think would have made this book better.
All in all, fantastic book! I can't wait to listen to more from this author and this series!
