The best thing I can say about Michael Anderle is the very real fact he is consistent in his writing very good stories, covering a variety of topics. His overall theme has been justice, NOT just vigilantism. In this adventure, Kara tries to get police protection for Maria and her baby son, Carlos, only to have it denied by the police commissioner of Internal Affairs, never mind his department having nothing to do with the request. It turns out his name was on a very long list of names listed in Kara's book of evil deeds. I think Michael Andele fans will love this story every bit as much as the first one. I know I did.

Adding to the circle
Kara has her hands full trying to protect her new nephew Carlos and his mother from Athemis, who is trying to take her nephew and raise him as one of them so they can steal the magic of the Free Judge. Things are looking up though because while protecting them she starts to make friends she can trust with her secrets and help her get stronger. I am really enjoying this series, I love the characters, the action, the World building, and the humor (Grimm and the new dryad really crack me up) and can't wait for more.

Another "couldn't put it down" and this book is a classic example of the expression "A good book is one that you can't wait for it to end, and then when it does you don't want it to" . So I hope the next one is available.🙂

Highly recommended
An excellent mix of fantasy with modern dystopian possibilities. Michael Anderle's writing is, as usual, interesting and fun. His explanation of this new world is concise and easily understood....and the good guys win!❤

great read impossible to put down

Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
