I write super spicy contemporary romance, usually set in London, my home of twenty-five years. My characters are smart, fabulous, wealthy and competent, their lifestyles disgustingly luxurious. I love, among other things, an age gap, an alpha guy, a hell of a growth arc, and a sprinkling of priest kink (hello convent education). When I'm not happily dissociating on my laptop or dreaming up swoony special editions, I enjoy hanging out in London with my amazing, long-suffering husband and two kids.
A Fair Affair A Fair Affair follows Honor Chapman, a successful businesswoman, mother of two, and wife to movie star Jackson James. Despite having what appears to be a dream life—fame, family, and her own thriving cosmetics brand—Honor is deeply unfulfilled. Her family issues push her to a breaking point, challenging the carefully constructed facade of her public persona.
When Honor’s mother is moved into a medical care facility, Honor meets Noah, the compassionate and charismatic doctor running the facility (and the son of a family friend). Their connection is instant, and Honor finds herself tempted into a relationship that offers the care and respect missing from her marriage. What begins as a sexy little fling with Noah by a moonlit pool quickly threatens to unravel everything Honor has built—both personally and professionally—as she faces mounting pressures and emotional turmoil.
I enjoyed the glamorous settings (celebrity homes, Provencal vineyards, London high society) presented, emotional depth, and a healthy dose of steamy romance. Themes of grief, love in many forms (romantic, familial, friendship), celebrity culture, and the search for self-worth amid chaos and loss are explored in this tale. Even though Honor is seen as loyal, resilient, and devoted to her family, she’s also longing for kindness and fulfillment. Her personal struggles bring her to question her own happiness and choices she’s made and influences the choices she makes. Noah captured my heart with his cinnamon roll hero vibe.
I loved this story’s emotional honesty and the satisfying escape from reality.
A Very London Christmas A beautiful billionaire single dad hotel owner who hires a nanny for his 4 year-old daughter for the Christmas holiday story. There's sweet, sassy, and some naughty in this tale. Something for everyone.
Shane East and Zara Hampton Brown are two of my favorite British narrators. KC Sheridan is new to me, and I loved her narration. They all did a wonderful job.
Falling Stars Falling Stars is a celebrity romance novel set against the glamorous backdrops of Cannes and a regency-era television show reminiscent of Bridgerton. The book is part of the Love in London series, though it can be read as a standalone.
Elle and Josh, both actors whose whirlwind romance begins at the Cannes Film Festival. Their passionate connection goes viral, making them the talk of Hollywood, but it all ends abruptly when Josh publicly dumps Elle on Twitter, leaving her heartbroken and humiliated. Over the next five years, Elle rises to success as an acclaimed actress while battling Crohn’s disease—a rare instance of chronic illness representation in romance. I have a family member who has this ailment, and I applaud how it was written in the story. Meanwhile, Josh’s career spirals as he faces his own personal issues.
Fate throws them together again when both are cast as romantic leads in a major period drama. The forced proximity on set, unresolved feelings, and personal growth for both characters drive the narrative as they navigate professional demands, media scrutiny, and haunting personal demons. There’s a focus on not just their romance, but their journeys of self-acceptance, healing, and overcoming very real struggles.
As the story progresses, you get to see Elle and Josh go from instant superstars to real people going through real life, all while working on their craft and trying to keep their career and striving to be authentic and genuine in their real life away from the world of make-believe.
I enjoyed the balancing of romance with nuanced, realistic portrayals of personal struggle and growth. It’s both a swoony romance and a sensitive exploration of what it means to live true to oneself and love bravely.
Wilder at Heart Wilder at Heart is a romantic comedy centered around a steamy fake dating, opposites attract, and forced proximity storyline. The story follows Nora Wilder, a wedding planner who had her life planned out with her boyfriend of nine years until he unexpectedly dumps her for someone completely opposite to her. Nora is waiting for her ex to come back to her, still hoping for a future with kids and dogs. Enter Theo Montague, a cocky, confident, yet lovable playboy who proposes a fake relationship to help both achieve their respective goals of Nora wanting to win her ex back, and Theo needing to improve his family’s perception of him after a scandal on reality TV. As they pretend to date, their forced proximity leads to moments of tension and a deeper connection, revealing more about themselves and opening the door to real feelings. Beneath his cocky exterior, he is genuinely caring and develops real feelings for Nora.
The story features strong character development, witty banter, and several steamy, romantic scenes set against the backdrop of beautiful locations. The book works well as a standalone but also fits within the broader Love in London series, where many characters cross paths across different stories.
The Reluctant Billionaire This was a great story of a not so obvious billionaire meeting the epitome of rich girl lady boss. Perceptions and assumptions throw these two together first as adversaries, but as they get to know one another, they actually have a few things in common. There's plenty of heat, silliness, and a wonderful tale.
Shane East and Zara Hampton Brown beautifully narrated this story.
The Rest is History The Rest is History is a grumpy/sunshine trope, set in the UK against the backdrop of an elite private school and historic Hampton Court. The story cleverly intertwines modern romance with Tudor history, centering on Charlie, the head of history and Elodie, a substitute teacher covering a maternity leave from a teacher in Charlie’s department. These two history teachers moonlight as historical re-enactors—Elodie as Anne Boleyn and Charlie as Henry VIII—at Hampton Court on weekends.
Due to personal reasons, Charlie appears cold and grumpy to everyone, and he’s also awkward with Elodie because he’s fascinated with her. On the weekends, he picks up a charismatic and playful persona when he becomes Henry VIII. He has quite a few emotional struggles he’s working through, yet when he’s acting, it’s tougher to keep that hard shell intact. Ultimately, he’s passionate, deeply knowledgeable, and fiercely attracted to Elodie.
Elodie on the other hand, is selfless, passionate about teaching, and very devoted to her family. Initially put off by Charlie’s frosty demeanor, she discovers another side to him through their weekend historical performances. Elodie is fiery, resilient, and refuses to back down from what she wants, including fighting for her relationship with Charlie.
I’m not much of a history fan for fun reading, but the story has an engaging blend of humor, heat, and emotional depth, as well as authentic historical detail. Underneath the romance, it tackles themes such as family responsibility and trauma from past relationships with sensitivity. I enjoyed the witty banter, great character development, and the interplay between real life and historical roleplay. You’ll quickly see that Charlie and Elodie’s modern-day romance is paralleled with the infamous passion of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, adding historical flavor and dramatic tension.
The Rest is History stands out as a heartfelt, witty, and steamy romance with richly drawn characters and a captivating setting.
I love reading romance novels, & Elodie Hart is one of my go-to authors in this genre. I loved reading these stories, which have a healthy dose of spice as well as being great stories!! Something that I particularly enjoy in her books is that many are set in my home city of London - I love being able to picture scenes & their locations as I read. Whilst most of these books are stand-alone, I love that familiar characters pop up in each other’s books so that a sense of community develops. It’s great that these are now available in this box-set, recommended for a holiday binge-read!
Several different stories in this box set and some characters appear across a few books. Loved the book of Josh and Elle. Both characters were great, the chemistry and sexual tension on fire, with a good underpinning storyline. Couldn’t put that story down. My least favourite, Elodie and Charles’ story - personally I just didn’t really warm to the characters or storyline. There was also a theme to each story where one character was wealthy, and one wasn’t, which I found a little tedious. In one or two maybe but in all of them was unnecessary in my view.
Fabulous and glamorous locations, amazing fashions, hot heroes... it's all too marvellous. But the very best thing is how real the stories are - not the typical damaged/ redemption kind of stuff, but real life issues handled immaculately and sensitively.
Some of the issues could be triggering, and these are made clear at the start. But they are healing, too.
Great boxset all the stores were amazing. However I have one issue not just with Elodie Hart books. Taking the Lord’s name in vain. Some people might not like my review for saying this but I think writers need to move away from using the name of Jesus as a curse word. Aside that the stories were good and great writing. Good pacing no dull moments. And lots of spice. Welldone Miss Hart.
This compilation of books had fabulous stories, characters and unique scenarios. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every book in the series. I'm a newer reader of this author and once you get acclimated to a few different terms its a great read.
HOT! Fabulous. An auto-buy author for me because these glamorous worlds and sexy people are so darn much fun! Erotic romance at its swoony best. All the fire plus a lengthy happily ever after epilogue that lets you really enjoy all the feels. Yum!
