Signed without love was good; I love an arranged marriage storyline and this was done well. The MMC, Saint was just released from doing a 5 year bid when he learned a deal had been made for him to marry, Aiyana. Aiyana’s goal was to be a lawyer when her father turned her life upside down with striking a deal for her to marry without notice or input. I liked the fact that the characters ran into each other prior to their official meeting and it was funny that Aiyana thought it was all a scheme set up by Saint 😂. I loved Saint but he should have let Tamia’s nagging tale go long before she started acting a fool. The audacity was at an all-time high, considering she was doing her own thing while he was locked up. 🌝 whew!! This story was a reminder of how blind loyalty and greed can impact your livelihood because both dads were awful. I would have loved more romance between Saint and Aiyana, as their chemistry was everything but it was a little overshadowed by the drama. I would recommend.
I want to read about a MMC that is confident in his dealings and is willing to lead. And most importantly does NOT play about his person/woman, at all. Saint carrying on with Tamia, even while catching feelings for Yana was eeeeyuuucckk! But to allow Tamia to constantly call Yana all types of b*itches and h*oes unchecked was disgraceful. Rating is for the story, grammar and potential. Between everyone f*cking around on each other except for the MMC and MFC (not until 80% in of the story), the lack of STD concerns and Saint being “rewarded” with a virgin MFC, and the rushed ending this was almost a DNF….
The pacing throughout the book definitely felt off. I love a forced arranged marriage trope but the MMC was in love with his girlfriend for a significant portion of the book. The FMC feared falling in love with her husband because he had a girlfriend. The fallout from Girlfriend and her sneaky mess went a little nowhere. We didn't get a final line about her outcome. The jump down wasn't enough. The fallout with Jamal also wasn't closure enough. It felt like the first half of the story dragged just to get a rushed last act. We definitely deserved a more full epilogue. But the writing held up, even when I had moments of not liking the MMC, he just wasn't strong enough for me, I was invested in the story to see where it was going. It just didn't leave me with the romance flutters.
This was my first book from author Dontrice Nicole and it will not be my last! Omg I couldn’t put this book down! Saint and Yana Father’s were something else and so was that weirdo Tamia! Everything that Saint went through was difficult to spend 5 years of your life behind bars for something you didn’t do 😩!?!!?! The slow burn between Yana and Saint had me yearning for more! I’m so happy that they got the happily ever after they deserved even though they couldn’t see it in the beginning but that’s the only thing that both of their parents got right! Tamia Tamia Tamia I knew something was up with her but once it came out smh 🤦🏾♀️! Glad she got what she deserved to! Jamal was extremely wrong to but to see that his pov was totally different then hers smh I was like wow! Can we please have an update on Yana and Saint! I saw we will be getting a book with Kiana and Terrance! I most definitely will be reading that book 📖
Aiyana’s father had me heated from start to finish. Selling your daughter off to a stranger because you couldn’t keep your business afloat? Absolutely wicked. No justification, no grace—just selfishness wrapped in desperation.
That said, what truly saved this story for me was watching the love between Aiyana and Saint grow. What started as obligation slowly turned into something real, tender, and earned. They both blossomed individually and together, and I loved seeing them choose each other despite how it all began.
Their love wasn’t rushed, and it wasn’t perfect—but it was intentional. And by the end, I found myself rooting hard for them.
Overall, Signed Without Love took me on an emotional ride—frustration, softness, healing, and growth all wrapped into one.
I picked this book up because the cover caught my eye, and it was also a new author for me. The story definitely had the potential to be really good. There were a few errors, but nothing major. I could overlook them without feeling like they took away from the story.
My biggest issue was that it felt rushed. We didn’t really get to see the bond between the MFC and MMC develop. It was implied since they spent time together, but I wanted to actually experience that connection on the page. I knew things with Tamia were going to fall apart, but if we had seen more of Saint and Yana together, the shift would’ve made a lot more sense.
Overall, the potential was there, but the ending felt rushed. I honestly thought we were heading into a cliffhanger… but nope it just wrapped up really fast.
A Well-Written Arranged Marriage Romance with Strong Characters
I really enjoyed this arranged marriage romance. The plot was solid, and the writing made it easy to connect with the characters. You end up loving the ones you are supposed to love and absolutely hating the villains.
It had everything I expected romance, drama, family conflict, family support, secrets, and manipulation.
All of it felt true to arranged marriage stories and flowed well without feeling overdone. Everything unfolded at a good pace and delivered exactly what I expect for this type of story.
If you like arranged marriage books with strong emotions, messy family dynamics, and a love story that develops through pressure and conflict, this one is definitely worth reading.
Imagine your mean father force you into a marriage to someone you don’t know. Have never really met. You just so happen to stumble onto him one day going to get your hair done but you have no idea it’s him. Now imagine you just get out of prison for a crime you didn’t commit because you’re trying to please your father just to be told he has arranged a marriage to someone you don’t know. Plus you already have a girlfriend, one that’s not been so loyal to you. This book is a good read.
Maybe it was a lot to take in with this one here. Saint was that dude and I love him and his loyalty but I was glad when he decided to love for himself. Yana was a breath of fresh air as well bc she didn’t stood on business. Glad I didn’t have to group her mom in the ain’t shit mothers club. The friends group with solid and that damn Tamia needed a stray jacket bc they chic was crazy. Jamal. Tsk tsk tsk now you know better. And finally the dads were arrogant a holes. This was a ride but I enjoyed every bit of it.
This book moved fast but also slow at the same time. Yana was forced into a marriage that she never asked for all because her dad owed money. With her living off her dad she really didn’t have a choice. Yana’s dad might as well have been the devil fr. Saint was a man trying to make everyone but himself happy so I’m glad he was able to finally choose himself. I kinda wish I got more of Yana & Saint loving each other. Solid read overall.
Love this story. Zaire and Ayana attraction was undeniable. Their daddies was so selfish. Saint come home from doing 5 years for his daddy to him wanting him to marry a stranger. Couldn't even enjoy his freedom. Yana daddy and his controlling issues was ridiculous. Omg Tamia and her delusional self. She wants both brothers. Jamal knows he should've handled that with his brother. I'm ready for the next book
This was my introduction to this author and my goodness she did her thing! I felt some type of way about Saint and Tamia’s relationship as he claimed to be deeply in love with her for a good part of the book Tamia was the absolute worst and I felt like she got off too easy for all she did. I liked Yana more than Sant honestly. Saint allowed Tamia to be too disrespectful for too long.
Yana's father got exactly what he deserved. He was as shady as they come. He didn't give a s@#$ about his daughters or his wife.
Then there is Tamia's trifling azz. I was hoping Zaire could see through her but he was blinded by the fact that she held him down for five years. Jamal loved his brother, but the sneaky link was foul.
When I tell you this book was everything I love how Yana and Saints relationship developed so beautifully. Her dad thought he knew everything 🤣 and the way that turned out for him. Wasn't something he could of imagined. This book was about love, disloyalty and pure family drama. Cant wait to read more from this author.
This story had so much potential, but it don’t hit it full peak. The MFC AND MMC didn’t have no connection at all. They barely spoke more than a couple of sentences to each other. The MMC and his brother having such a close relationship, and that wasn’t display at all. Kahlia relationship was introduced, but it was never talked about again. The ending was rush
That was a wild ride and I stayed till the end. I loved this story down. It was done beautifully and I’m so happy everyone got the justice they deserved. And to top it all off the love they deserved. I couldn’t put this story down. I can’t wait to read more.
That father in this book is a freaking mess hunny..he got what he deserves at the end. Yana and zaire playing with my emotions and they finally got it right.. I didn't feel bad for tamar because she was not loyal at all.
This was a quick read full of drama and mess. Zaire and Ayana are two people thrown together in a situation they didn't want but had no control over. It's full of sticky situations, feelings, and scandalous family members.
Ms. Nicole did a good job with developing the relationship between Saint and Aiyanna. She took her time and didn’t rush it. However, I felt bad for Saint and the betrayal that he suffered.
And that's period! Ah, I loved this. Saint was making me upset, but I get it. Choosing between a woman you've known and loved for years for a woman you've just met sounds insane. Things worked out as they were supposed to though.
My first read from this new to me author left me wanting to read more of her catalog. The plot held my interest, the story flowed. Great job. I'm looking forward to the next story.
I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read, and there wasn’t any errors or confusion. I like seeing Zaire fall in love and tries to fight against all the things that he was feeling. Tana got her happiness after all.
3.7 stars .. Majority of the story focused on Tamia and her betrayal than more emphasis on Saint and Yana. It didn’t seem to focus much on the main characters relationship til bout 80% of the book then the last 20% was rushed. It felt like “here damn!”kinda closure.
This book literally had me on the edge of my seat!!! It was exactly what I needed, I’ve been struggling to find a new author I loved. This book reeled me in hook line and sinker!!! Highly recommend
The book was good. It’s fast paced arranged marriage with secrets. It had great plot twist but I wish it was slowed down a little bit with more pages. Definitely will read more books by this author.
This is the first book I read by this author and I enjoyed it a lot. I love arrange marriages and this book fed my soul. I look forward to more from this author
Arranged marriage, love triangle, trash parents and betrayal. I loved this story because it wasn’t predictable. My only con is Tamia should’ve suffered a little more.
Once Saint finally got his act together, he and Yana's love story was beautiful. I wish he would've stood up to his father and Tamia way sooner. This dads were despicable and deserved far worse.
