This time around Bob finds himself heading to Italy for a job that will settle his dear friend Dawn’s brother’s debt. Of your nothing can go as planned and chaos ensues rather quickly. Things are OFF, but Bob just can’t seem to put his finger on the reason why. Will he accomplish what he is there for or will things just not go as planned? I enjoyed this one very much. I had a hard time focusing but not sure it was the book so didn’t let it affect my review. Looking forward to Bob’s next adventure. This thriller grabbed me by the throat and didn’t let go until the very last chapter.

It was like a wild ride in a upside down roller coaster, and i was sad when this ride came to an end!

A very gripping thriller by Ian Loome. Beautifully written with a tension that crawls under your skin!!.

I enjoy the Rogue Warrior series. It is Reacher-esque in that he travels around and finds himself in trouble helping people but imagine if Reacher was former black ops and his old team hunted him instead of wanting to help. He has some old friends though and has come to an agreement with the CIA so he can start just living his life (still carefully). So we see him back in Chicago in Rogue Asset, enjoying some time with Dawn until getting pulled into a world of mafia weddings and online scams.

While a good read, I didn't enjoy this one as much as some of the others. The guy he is helping isn't as likeable as some of the others Bob has helped, although he is more doing it for Dawn than her brother. But also mob/mafia stories are not my favourite in general which likely plays into it.

This one will keep you guessing on who the ghost is and why there are so many obstacles for Bob in keeping the dons safe though. Between the various families, the police and Dawn wanting him to not kill people, he has his work cut out for him.

Thanks to Inkubator Books for the advance copy for review through Netgalley.

Rogue Asset by Ian Loome follows our protagonist Bob, a former government assassin, as he tries to help out a friend who has scammed the wrong person, a member of the mafia. Bob makes a deal to have the debt wiped clean in exchange for his assistance in stopping a notorious assassin, The Ghost, from ruining the wedding day and the merger of two ruthless crime families. Bob must use is training and instincts to stop the assassin, while trying not to get killed by the mafia families and prevent capture by corrupt police.
This is the first time I have read a book by this author, and I can say it didn’t disappoint. I am a fan of action thrillers, and this one kept me engaged throughout. Every scene has a purpose and keeps the reader guessing what will happen next. In this book, there is a little bit of everything: suspense, car chases, shootouts, fist fights, and more. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for something that will keep them entertained from page to page. I look forward to going back and reading more of his work.
Thank you Netgalley, Ian Loome and Inkubator books for allowing me to read this copy.

I am a big fan of the Rogue Warrior books, and this one is no exception. Just reading the first page gets you thinking what has Bob got himself into this time. Starts with Bob visiting his friend Dawn, but trouble comes soon enough. I loved the story but didn't like who he was helping. Not a nice character at all. I understand why he helped though. Reading the jacket of the book I was intrigued if I could work out who the Ghost was. He ended up being one of the two I suspected. Bob handles everything in his usual manner by getting involved with the Mafia this time and that is why it is such a great read. Action nearly on every page with a few great twists here and there. Car chases, boxing, scaling walls, usual gun fights and even gets locked up and some amazing driving. In other words, just another normal outing for our Rogue Warrior. Worth reading for the ending alone. Last few chapters are quite exciting. Author Loome has done it again. A really fun read.

Bob in Italy, who would have thought it? A trip back to Chicago to see his friend Dawn turns into much more than he bargained for when his good Samaritan nature takes over. Dawn's brother, a scam artist, scams the heir to a Mafia enterprise, putting his life in danger unless he repays a huge debt. Bob steps in and finds himself fending off a renowned assassin trying to prevent a peace-maker marriage between two rivals to repay the debt.

As usual, Bob finds danger as he navigates through scenarios working to prevent the union, from the cops to rival sons wanting to prove themselves. It takes all of his skillset and wit to figure out the twisted plot.

There are some surprises along the way, and at times, the plot muddles along before the next twist and turn.

Overall, I enjoyed Bob's time in the old country and will be curious to see where Loome places him in his next adventure.

They wanted a bodyguard. They got a one-man army.

When a friend gets in debt to some gangsters, Bob is offered a deal he can’t refuse – his friend won’t be harmed if Bob goes to Italy and protects two Mafia dons from a legendary hitman known as The Ghost.

The dons’ children are getting married, a match which should unite the two crime families and end decades of bloodshed. But it’s feared the wedding offers a perfect opportunity for The Ghost to strike.

The deadly assassin is a master of disguise—anyone could be The Ghost. And as Bob fights to identify the killer, he uncovers a deeper conspiracy. Someone close to the families wants them all dead, and now Bob is the only thing standing in the way.
A gripping thriller-mafia book all the way. Bob is your hero; he is invincible and reminds me of the character Jack Ryan.
I enjoyed the fast pace set by the author, Ian Loome and the characters he introduces to us in this book.
A lot of attention to detail and showing the underworld as it really is.
What struck me as significant was the knowledge of the ins and outs of the Mafia world, the weaponry and the fight and action scenes.
If you love action, you are in for a ride.
Cannot wait for the next in the series.

I received an ARC through "Booksprout" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The story has Bob traveling to Italy to help the brother of Dawn, where he is living, in relation to a gambling debt. Bob has agreed to help protect a group of individuals in exchange for a lower amount that is due to the debt. On arriving and learning exactly what obstacles he would face, Bob familiarizes himself with the area where the potential assassin might show up at. Bob learned later that there were individuals who wanted him to fail in his assignment which meant they tried to kill him.

Follow the story from when Bob discovers the predicament that Dawn's brother incurred as well as his short time he had available in Italy to stop the killer. There is plenty of action in the story and is well worth the read, don't miss out!

This is another riveting read which takes Bob to Italy as part of a deal to clear the debt of Dawn's brother. What should be a tough enough task for Bob to ensure a wedding between two warring Mafioso families takes place without incident, becomes worse when it appears that the famous assassin The Ghost is around to fulfil a job.

As expected, there's plenty of violence and incidents that Bob needs to use all his wiles to get out from, not just from the families and associates but also from the local police. There's several twists here also and even time for a final one towards the end which took me by surprise. I look forward to seeing where Bob ends up next.

Bob Singleton is not your typical ex CIA officer. Ian Loome has created a great character and in Rogue Asset he feels that he needs to help a friend getting her brother out of a tricky situation. This leads to a maffia wedding in Italy and lots of fun complications for Bob. I had a really good time reading this book that in my mind is one of the best in the series. I must thank Netgalley and Inkubator Books for making this advance copy available to me. Oh, it's out in stores on the 8th of February.

Bob Singleton, former CIA and adept at solving difficult problems. His friend has a brother who made bad choices so owes money to some not so nice people. The author does a good job of keeping the story moving, building the characters and developing a story where you really are not sure who to trust and then there is The Ghost. Mix in a bunch of mobsters, relatives and a wedding.

Great book, recommend reading.

Great to get more boxing lessons from Bob. So many get tagged right on the chin and “lose their legs” in this episode as Bob travels to Italy to,pay someone else’s debt. All he has to do is protect feuding Dons from an unknown assassin even though they don’t want him around, and neither do tho local cops.. Lots of subplots move the story along at a good pace. I recently an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and voluntarily provided an honest review.

Bob is an intriguing character who pays it forward by helping people he feels indebted to or their family's out of bad situations that draw him into the most deadliest battles. I find this series most interesting to read you never know where Bob is going to end up and just how much it's going to grab you by the throat and drag you in.

Mystery And Action

Having read the whole series, this book is laid out more like a mystery - detective fiction more than action thriller. The writing is good for the most part, other than a few gripes. The whole premise that leads to Italy is lame and unnecessary. Lastly, if it’s 8 degrees in Chicago, that’s not a “cool, fall wind.”

What a thriller! I love this author. All of his books will keep you on the edge of your seat. Bob is headed to Italy to help his best friends Dawn brother's debt. Bob has an uneasy feeling about this trip but he's promised Dawn. Things go south fast. Great book and full of suspense.

Dawn said ”any chance you can impress me and tell me you’ve figured out what I do about Errol’s gambling problems?” And that’s how it started for Bob this time…
