I loved this book. It kept me up late into the night and I think I might have said just one more chapter a few times.
The story is sort of written in two part, well okay there are two focuses. The first focus is the murder investigation and while I thought it was pretty obvious who was behind it, it was still an interesting case. It did contain a number of twists and suspects as the author tried to muddy the waters but I had my suspect the whole way through. This case does get nicely wrapped up. The second focus of the story is the long running saga involving the main characters family. Over the course of the previous nine books we have gradually been building up to this moment and what a moment it turned out to be. Eden finally confronts her Father, the cult leader and generally not nice man. My heart was in my throat with the tension of how wrong it could go. I was also a bit worried this ment the end of the series but was really glad to read the author isn't done yet ! This is one of my favourites series. Who doesn't love a well plotted out murder, a K9 companion, friendship, a hint of a romance and family drama like no other. I can't wait for the next book.
The FBI are just about ready to make a raid on her father's compound. For Eden this means a chance to save her brother who was tricked into returning and possible getting her sick mother the help she so desperately needs. However when a bride is killed on her wedding day, Officer Eden Mercer is torn between being in two places at once. Her heart wants to find her brother but her head keeps thinking about what should have been the most happiest day of a young woman's life. Then Eden makes a connection with another dead bride and the case takes on a life of its own, giving a while new meaning to the saying 'runaway bride.' Can Eden stay the course and follow the clues to a killer or will her heart win out and she will choose her family over work? Both might have deadly consequences. I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This book is a two fold mystery. The murder of a bride just before she walks down the isle making the suspect list long and no leads. Eden, Hunter and Shadow try to whittle the list down. The Vendor list is what they rely on for things maybe someone has seen. They have top suspects an overbearing mom, a fiance' who does nothing mommy doesn't tell him too and perhaps a high school sweetheart who still has a major crush on Sam. That is where things really gripped me and kept me reading on. The second intertwined story line takes us to a friend of Edens who is a police officer Avery who's office is near the Columbia river and the boarder of Washington and Oregon. She is investigating the cult that Eden and her sisters escaped from in Utah. It seems their brother was tricked to going back to help a friend escape, but wound up back in the compound of the Zion House Cult. Avrey has to rush to raid the compound to arrest Jebidiah, the leader and rescue Daniel soon. They all are aware the torture Daniel will experiance every passing day.
Y’all! Wedding day murder? Yeah… I was sat immediately. 🚨
Officer Eden Mercer and her K-9 Shadow are an elite duo—sharp, intuitive, and carrying just enough emotional baggage to make every scene hit harder. When a bride is strangled minutes before walking down the aisle, the suspects are obvious… but the truth? Oh, it’s way messier—and way closer to home. 😬
What makes this one sting is how the case mirrors Eden’s past in a fundamentalist cult—while, in the Nevada desert, an FBI raid tied to her brother is ticking toward disaster. Two storylines, both explosive, braided together like a fuse you know is about to blow. 💥
The writing is fast, clean, and cinematic—no wasted space, just pure tension. And when more brides start turning up dead?! I was flipping pages like Shadow on a scent. 🐕🦺
Final verdict: Dark, gripping, and emotionally sharp—this one had me side-eyeing weddings and trusting no one. 💀.

This latest instalment of the Eden Mercer series will have you on the edge of your seat.
It opens with the suspicious death of a bride to be on her wedding day. There’s a very short list of suspects but the case has more twists in it than a mountain road. Before long, Eden and Shadow are on the trail of the real killer. Or are they?
And whilst Nightfall is keeping Eden up late trying to untangle the evidence, Agent Carver is amassing her team and warrants and just might be able to finally give Eden the closure she needs on the cult run by her father.
This one will keep you on the edge of your seat to the very last page. You won’t want to miss it and you won’t want to stop reading it!.

The latest Eden Mercer adventure by Paige Black is probably the most exciting adventure for Eden and Shadow in the series. It is definitely a page turner. One that will keep you reading long into the night to find out what happens next. There are some truly despicable characters in this story that will make you wonder how they can be so cruel and heartless. The murder mystery at the center has a lot of twists to enhance the suspense of who committed them and how they did it. We learn much more of Eden’s personality and her growing relationship with Wilder. There is much more about Eden’s father and his religious cult, but I will give no spoilers because there is way too much that happens without spoiling the suspense. Don’t miss reading this book. You will not be disappointed.
For the readers who have been following Eden on her quest for her family this book brings it all together in a way only Paige Black does. Eden is on a challenging murder case; a young bride to be killed on the day of her wedding with all who love her nearby and yet someone strangled her. The case starts to look hopeless to solve with some 'clues' scattered throughout and then other brides to be are found to have disappeared or been killed. On top of this Eden finds out what she has been waiting for for years (to have her family together back again) is now a very real possibility. She has choices to make and hopes they are the right ones. And in true Eden fashion the book ends with a huge crash (or so we think!).
Most of this story was good. I think the characters are well-written and interesting. However, I figured it out early on, so was bored waiting for the rest of characters to get on board. The pace was good for the investigation, I just felt the result was obvious. This author creates excellent cases for Eden and her co-workers, but there seems to something juvenile in almost every book. The other issue I had was some of the action scenes at the end of the book, Eden appears to be bullet proof. I realize this review is a little harsh, but I want the author to know that some tweaking of her books would make them fantastic.

A bride is strangled on her wedding day. Each suspect raises a red flag. Then another murder occurs. Then a third. Are they connected? Eden, Hanks, Shadow, Wilder and Ramirez work the murders. In the meantime, FBI agent Avery Carver is getting ready to take down Eden’s father’s cult. Will the murder(s) be found? What’s going to happen at the cult compound? Another great read by Paige Black. The whole series has kept me entertained, and I look forward to the next book in the series. We get the conclusion to Eden's personal hell, the cult, but hopefully not the last we hear from her or the team! Alongside that an interesting case of murdered brides & the introduction of a new agent, Avery. She seems tough & focused which is good and hints to her backstory sound intriguing. Look forward to that series coming too. We get other povs which I love, but written in first person would be good with the character's name as the chapter heading. For me, keeping everything in first person pov feels easier to read rather than switching from first to third.

This was a complex and intriguing story that had many unexpected twists that will hook you from beginning to end. It's a fantastic story, and a great addition to the series. I'm not sure if this was the last book in this series, but I would love to see more stories in this series. The title "Final Vow" could refer the story, &/or the story and the ending of this series. There was also a mention of a new series coming out later this summer, which I'm looking forward to, but I would really like for this one to continue as well. JMO! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
Another thrilling mystery for Eden and her K9 as well as Hanks and Wilder when they come across the murder of a bride. Two other brides to be are also found dead and the team wonder if they are dealing with a serial killer or random coincidence. Meanwhile things are heating up with the FBI investigation into the cult Eden’s father operates. This is an absolute page turner of a story filled with unexpected twists. It also lays the foundation for a new series involving FBI Agent Carver but I do hope this is not the end of Eden’s adventures.
A murdered bride on her wedding day, and then 2 more brides are killed. Eden, Hanks, Wilder, and of course, Shadow are combing through the clues. Along another line, FBI agent Avery is preparing for a raid on the cult that Eden escaped from several years ago along with her sister Hope. This is a great book, solving the bride killings, but also bringing some closure to Eden. It also sets up more, and I look forward to the next book, either Avery or Eden! But for the full enjoyment, start this series from the beginning with Shattered Silence.
I absolutely love this series. This is the 10th book of the Eden Mercer K-9 thriller series. This is two mysteries in one so the author had be at the beginning. The first mystery involves the murder of a bride as she is ready to walk down the aisle and the other takes us to the border of Washington and Oregon where Eden's friend Avery is looking into the cult that Eden and her sisters were trapped in years ago. The story is fast paced and drew me in immediately.

Eden grew up in a cult and her brother is still there. Eden is now living with her sisters and grandmother and working as a police officer with her K9 Shadow. While working a murder case involving a bride to be she is also waiting for the FBI to raid her father’s cult. Both cases seem to be coming to a head at the same time.

Every time I think there’s nothing more that can happen, Paige Black surprises me with a new irresistible and aways suspenseful adventure! This is the best one yet!! I love these characters for their relatability and bite my nails raw until I reach the last page.

Paige Black delivers yet another fantastic chapter in this gripping series, as Eden Mercer finds herself juggling two adventures—one deeply personal and the other in her role as a police officer. It’s engaging, intense, and full of emotion.

A bride strangled. A very unplesant mother in law. A then two more brides dead. What's going on? Can Eden and her team find the culprit before he strikes again? And FBI agent Carver ready to hit her father's compound. A gripping thriller.

So I read this book first before realizing that it's part of a series. Before you come at me with the pitchforks and torches, please know that I'm in the midst of grieving. Eden Mercer has overcome a lot in her life to be the woman that she is, and oh how I love her strength and determination. I need more of her.
I loved this book so much. There are twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the progress of the story in this book and can’t wait for the next book.

My only regret is I wish there had been one more book so we could explore Daniel more. The poor boy was thrown into a pit in the ground & left to die. I always feel lost when a series ends. Like I've lost my best friend.
10+ stars! Final Vow Book 10 of Eden Mercer K-9 Mystery Thriller series by Paige Black is just wow! I could not put it down! This is my favorite and the best in this series so far...a definite must read!!

WOW!! What a great story! A lot of twists that I didn’t see coming. Plus another heart pounding ending. This book is the reason I keep coming back for more. Paige Black is an amazing storyteller! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND not just this book but the whole series. You won’t be disappointed.
Overall, this is a solid “conclusion” (I hope it’s not over) to Eden’s story, as well as an intriguing start to Avery’s. The wedding murder case felt a bit rushed in favor of the overarching story of Eden’s family, and there was one bothersome inconsistency in Kim’s evidence that was never addressed. I still absolutely love the characters (especially Shadow) and small town setting.

In this latest thriller with Officer Eden Mercer and her K-9 partner Shadow you will not be disappointed with the plot or action! I keep thinking the next book can’t be as intense and complex as the last one but author Paige Black is pouring it on! Final Vow met every expectation and more. So, so good!.
