Sweet, sassy, and submissive Josiah wants to find a Sir.
When he meets the older, sexy Brody, they hit it off instantly.
Josiah is convinced he’s found the real thing...until Brody ghosts him.
When Brody shows up again a few weeks later, begging for forgiveness and a chance to explain, the heartbroken Josiah isn’t sure if he should give Brody another chance.
Can Brody prove to Josiah that he doesn’t need a Sir but a Daddy…and that Brody wants to be that man?
Would you like the long or the short version of my bio?
The short? You got it.
I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.
How was that?
A little more detail? Gotcha.
I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.
My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.
Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

So that was disappointing. I love almost all of Nora’s books, especially the No Shame series. And after the quite tame prince novels I was really excited she wrote another kinky novel, in the White House series no less. It didn’t deliver though. The insta love felt forced, and the way Brody reacted to it was not ok. I didn’t understand Elya’s role. Maybe a setup for a new book? Also Josiah felt off, he didn’t have the debt most of the characters in Nora’s books have. I didn’t really understand why he lived in Chicago in the first place. And then the spanking… In lots of her books these scenes make sense. In this book however, with the age gap and the fact they haven’t really been together that long (after Brody’s weird ghosting stunt), it felt bordering on controle and abuse.
So… maybe it’s the current political situation or something else completely unrelated but I have the feeling she’s lost her touch. I’m just going back to rereading No Shame and Perfect Hands… And hope any other new books will be better.
Not rereading this. And I don’t recommend it if you’re looking for a good sequel to the White House series. If you’re into weird power dynamics, this might be light entertainment for an hour.
Sigh... by now I should've learned. I really loved the series when I read it some time back. Unfortunately this novella is only very loosely connected to the main books. And it is basically the same plot as all the other recent novellas by the author. Sub meets dom, they fuck, they fall in love after one night, and basically move in together after knowing each other a week. I'm also so sick of the horse schlong the dom MC has in those books...
It is great to revisit such a fantastic universe as the White House Men. Getting to know Josiah and seeing him find Brady and find their HEA in such a quick read was amazing and fulfilling. I love how Nora can bring us back into a world so easily and have us craving to go back and re-read the previous books. As a reader, I was convinced of the sincerity of the characters motives and actions and the dialogue had me nodding along with their conversations. This is why I love Nora's writing so much.
Nora Phoenix has done it again. Great short story added to the White House collection. She brings back favorite characters in the series years after that time frame. Great to see how they are doing in addition to these new additions.
