the concept of this was so entertaining.
These characters were so funny and unserious! I was laughing at their side commentary and shenanigans, definitely curious about book 2.

⚠️ Morally bankrupt characters. Unhinged chaos. A romance that feels one bad decision away from a body count. Sign me up.
This book was an absolute fever dream in the best possible way. Darkly funny, wildly unpredictable, and packed with enough tension to keep me glued to the pages, I genuinely never knew what disaster was waiting around the corner.
Parker and Holden are the definition of "red flag meets red flag." Neither of them are heroes, and that's exactly what made them so addictive. Parker thrives on pushing buttons she absolutely shouldn't touch, while Holden is the kind of man who turns minor inconveniences into criminal investigations. Their constant back-and-forth was equal parts entertaining, chaotic, and terrifying because at any moment it felt like either one of them could snap.
And Holden? Completely unhinged. The deeper I got into his character, the more fascinated I became. His internal struggles, his bizarre habits, and his relationship with reality created some of the most memorable moments in the entire book. I couldn't look away.
What surprised me most was how often I found myself laughing. The dark humor hits perfectly, balancing the suspense and violence with moments that had me grinning while simultaneously questioning my sanity.
Then came THAT ending.
The twist blindsided me, and now I desperately need answers. The revelations, the character dynamics, the emotional fallout, I'm already counting down the days until book two because that cliffhanger was downright criminal.
If you love enemies-to-lovers, morally grey (more like morally nonexistent) characters, dark humor, chaos, suspense, and a romance that keeps you guessing, this one deserves a spot on your TBR.

Oh goodness, I’m still processing this one! This was an incredibly fresh take on the morally grey, enemies to lovers tropes and I can’t wait for book 2!
Let’s start with our MCs. I liked that neither of them were good people. They were both morally grey/black AF! She was a bounty hunter, but for the elite who buy people to then hunt them…and HE was a literal psychopath who murdered people for even the smallest reasons. From the start, you knew these two were either going to murder each other in a huge mess or become the darkest HEA imaginable, and watching the pendulum swing violent between the two was delicious.
I liked that Parker liked tormenting him, and I liked that it pissed him off so bad. I further liked that he was actually trying to push her away at times, when in reality he should have just killed her if that was his real main goal…but was it really? I’m with Mr. Carlisle on this one. IYKYK.
Speaking of, the whole Mr. Carlisle situation was absolutely WILD in the best way. Holden dragging around a dead body and then attributing conversations he’s having with himself to conversations he’s having with the body was giving Weekend at Bernies meets Split vibes and I loved this brand of cuckoo. I definitely can’t wait to learn more about how Holden became who he is, especially with the sad glimpses we did get into his background.
I loved the tone and how the MCs talk to the reader. We are definitely along for the ride in every instance to the point where I felt I was riding shotgun…hopefully not on top of Mr. Carlisle, because eww, but you know what I mean.
Lastly, I did not see that twist ending coming! I need to know the rest of the found family’s thoughts because that is actually insane! Also, watching Holden come to terms with his true thoughts about Parker? Very interesting indeed!!

Wow, wow, wow! Kinsley is in her romcom era and I am absolutely loving it! Hit & Run has lots of banter, sarcasm, and tension.
Parker is so funny (she had me laughing out loud) and I absolutely love her. Her and her little team are so cute - I just adore them. Tac and Connor are my favorites. Holdon is...special. Very crazy, but honestly we love crazy here. The things that came out of that mans mouth left me speechless. I relate with Parker on a deep level with her love for cute baby animals, and watching videos of them all the time. I want a racoon, and a lil opossom, so bad.
Kinsley...what the HELL was that ending?? Miss ma'am. The way my jaw was on the floor. All of my flabbers were gasted. I am still in shock! I audibly gasped and had to get up and take a lap around the room after reading that. It is such a good twist and I never saw it coming but omg?! *insert Jennifer Lawrence 'what do you mean?' meme here*
But in all seriousness, I really had such a great time consuming this book in one sitting (that's how good it was). Kinsley is such a fantastic writer and puts you right into the story. I felt like I was watching everything first hand, and after reading this book...I do think a hotdog is a sandwich. Even though this is a bit different from Kinsly's other works, I still heavily enjoyed it and it still felt very Kins to me!

Dark Cereal Deleter vs Bounty Hunter Rom Com?!? Say less… you will be giggling and gagging while reading Hit & Run by Kinsley Kincaid.
Between Parker being chaos personified and a Bounty Hunter, and Holden being the ultimate germ avoidant, cereal deleter psychopath who doesn’t think he’s the psychopath laughs and gags are to be had.
I’m going to be honest, I’m still kinda grossed out and I loved it!

This story was fun, it was addictive and it was also super unhinged which I loved. Both of our main characters in this book have their own mental issues and of course that led us on a journey filled with chaos but only in the best way.
There were so many moments I was left laughing hysterically because of some of the unfortunate and hilarious things that happened. This book is in fact the very definition of a walking red flag meeting another walking red flag and I was definitely here for it.
Our girl Parker is a bounty hunter for an exclusive agency. She’s a little weird in her own way but she’s very good at her job. She’s the boss of her own team, she gets distracted easily and she loves to watch cute videos of baby animals. The one thing that definitely makes her thrive is her ability to push people buttons just because she can. I’m not going to lie I actually love her character so much!
Then we have Holden. This guy is a bit strange, he is reclusive and of course he also happens to be a killer. He has a decent bit of trauma, he has an antisocial personality disorder and he talks to himself a lot. I won’t lie I’m extremely fascinated by him and cannot wait to see what book two has in store for his character.
The humour in this book was top tier, the fact that these two can’t stand each other but are neighbours had me laughing and then to make things even more interesting Holden becomes her next bounty. There was never a dull moment in this book and it was a super binge worthy read.
I was not expecting the ending though let me just say that. I need answers to the many questions I have and I fear I will be impatiently waiting for book two because that was a diabolical cliffhanger in my personal opinion.
Anyway if you like a little bit of crazy in your life then this may just be the book for you.

Review of eARC I received from the author.
I had the great opportunity to read this as an eARC and was really excited about it. I have heard great things about the author and I owned a few special editions of her books.
However, this book did not do it for me. I was left saying “wtf” way too many times and it is not a good “wtf”. I think the book has a great potential for being a good book. But, I honestly don’t like how it is written. It has a lot of fluffy monologue that is toned to be funny but I just don’t see it that way. The book reminds me of certain aspects of Deadpool where he tried to engage with the viewers but it definitely did not give the same impact as Deadpool did. I mainly thought it was unnecessary and rather annoyed by it than anything.
FMC and MMC - both characters are supposed to be these badasses but I don’t see how? All I see are two mentally unstable characters that have no business even being together? Guaranteed 95% of this book are the monologue and the fluff and 5% is their interaction, “banter”, and a single sex scene. They’re supposed to be both bad in their own ways - but the gruesome and important scenes to depict them as such felt rushed than anything. Which left me asking “that’s it?” every time.
I have read a lot of morally grey, pitch black books that I don’t even see this being in that category. I think this book can be better. I’ve seem great reviews but it makes me question if I even read the same book as them. Lol because this sadly did not even cut it for 2 stars for me. I would have loved to see less monologue and more banter and interactions. And a better depiction of the characters described on the blurb for this book.

This book is a dark romcom at its absolute finest, it was hilarious, compelling and completely unhinged. Even though this book is a dark romcom it is on the dark side so please read your triggers becuase there is graphic torture. However the comedy comes from the two main characters. Parker is a spy but also incredibly clumsy and unaware, her little antics were hilarious and the way her POVs were written were so fun to read. Holden is just an unhinged psycho but a funny one (though it may just be my dark sense of humour) because him and Mr Carlisle were the highlight of this book. This book is enemies to lovers at its finest becuase what do you mean he goes from wanting to vomit at her touch to freaking her throat? And the banter was pure chaos and beauty. There is a crazy plot twist near the end of the book and it ends on a cliffhanger that completely shocked me. This book was such a fun read and I give it a 4/5

I got the audiobook for this one. And I’m no prude when it comes to dual narration. But I ended up switching to 👀 reading it. And that made me enjoy the book much more.
Jaclyn Kelso & Lance Greenfield did a phenomenal job with their characters but the dual narration killed off the rom com vibes🫠.. This would have definetly hit differently had it been duet.

I really struggled the first half of this book. I couldn’t make sense of a lot of it and who the FMC was talking to. The second half was better but there wasn’t really any spice and everything was rushed so much with so many moving parts that it was hard to connect with any of the characters. That said the book did kept my attention and The overall premise of the book was different. it was an interesting storyline so I’ll probably read the second one since it ended on a cliffhanger.

This was so much fun in the sense that it’s a fresh take on morally grey characters. Not one but both are and it’s a nice little spin that keeps you on your toes of the “will they won’t they” scale. Oh but they absolutely will hahaha This was such a fabulous read and can’t wait for book 2 of this duology. I need more!

I loved Parker's bubbly personality and the day job and night job was hilarious to me.
I could immediately sense the different between the two characters, even in the writing. While Parker was chaotic and often felt like whiplash, Holden was the exact opposite. He was meticulous and cold and oh so very slow... Just taking his time doing things.
I will be honest, that I struggled a bit in the beginning esp the switch between Parker and Holden... But finally found my groove.
And the one that ended up being the villain? I didn't even see that coming!

Absolutely loved and devoured this book. Bounty hunter FMC x Serial Unaliver MMC here for it every time. Parker and Holden are a trip. The banter and humor were great. This was a ride. That twist and ending though. Was cracking up at Mr. C. Need book two now. The audio was amazing. The narrators did an excellent job bringing the characters and all the banter to life. It is dual narration but promise it’s so good and worth it.

The more I learned about him, the more intrigued I became, even when his behaviour was completely irrational.

I genuinely don’t even know where to start with this book because it was absolute madness 🦝 in the best possible way. Every chapter felt like another train wreck I couldn’t stop watching, and I was hooked from beginning to end. It’s dark, twisted, hilarious at unexpected moments, and completely unpredictable. 🤭🤣
Parker and Holden are the definition of chaos together. Neither one is a good person, and that’s exactly what made them so fascinating. Their relationship isn’t your typical enemies-to-lovers story…it’s two dangerously damaged people constantly testing each other’s limits. Every interaction had me wondering whether they were about to kiss or commit murder, and somehow the tension never let up.
Let’s give it up for the raccoons/possums IYKYK
Holden 😍💋 He’s unsettling, obsessive, emotionally fractured, and somehow impossible to look away from. His conversations with Mr. Carlisle had me laughing one minute and questioning everything the next (my sanity is gone) The dark humor had me questioning my own sense of reality, considering how much I laughed during this book like who am I really underneath this normal female façade 🤣🤣🤣
I also loved how Parker refused to back down. She constantly challenged Holden instead of fearing him, and watching them try to outmaneuver each other made every chapter addictive. Their chemistry is messy, toxic, and completely entertaining. Parker was a queen 👑

Hit & Run was the dark, chaotic ride I was hoping for, and Kinsley absolutely delivered. This was my first Kinsley book, and I was not disappointed. I've been anxiously waiting to read this one, and it lived up to the hype!
One of my favorite things about this book was that both Parker & Holden had moral compasses that were about as cracked as you could possible get and that little arrow just kept spinning around and around! Parker is a specialized bounty hunter for a company that is hired by (obviously morally bankrupt) elite who literally buy people to hunt. As prey. For revenge. Like... WTF? And OMG? At the same time. 😏 Meanwhile, our MMC Holden is literally a dark, psychopath who treats even the smallest inconvenience to him as grounds for murder without remorse or care (and I absolutely loved his points system because I do that too!!!). I loved his quirks so much!
From the beginning I knew these two belonged together I just wasn't sure if they were going to kill each other or end up in some dark and twisted HEA!
Their dynamic was equal parts foreplay and felony and delightfully unhinged. Parker loves pushing Holden's button when she shouldn't, and Holden is always one small step away from snapping altogether. Every interaction between them was packed with sarcasm, tension, and this awesome dark humor that had me laughing while simultaneously questioning my sanity for enjoying it so much.
Kinsley's writing completely pulled me into the story page after page, not even remotely getting enough of these characters! The chemistry was intense, the plot kept me hooked, and that twist at the end? I never saw it coming. I also loved how the characters occasionally break the fourth wall and pull you even deeper into their story.
And can we give a round of applause to Mr. Carlisle? IYKYK -Being Holden's BFF is a job that could absolutely be the death of you!
If you love enemies-to-lovers, morally nonexistent characters, dark humor, suspense, and absolute chaos, this book deserves a spot on your TBR. Just be warned: that cliffhanger is absolutely criminal, and I have no idea how I'm supposed to survive the wait for the next book.

Hit & Run is chaotic, hilarious, completely unhinged, and somehow had me hooked from the very first chapter.
By 23% my mind was already blown. I genuinely felt like I was losing my grip on reality alongside these characters. Every time I thought I knew where the story was heading, it would take another sharp turn and leave me questioning everything all over again.
Holden is an absolute menace. Unhinged doesn’t even begin to cover it. His POV had me laughing out loud more times than I can count. The man is completely ridiculous, yet somehow impossible not to love.
Parker isn’t exactly the picture of stability either, which makes them the perfect disaster. Watching them become increasingly obsessed with each other was addictive. Their dynamic is full of tension, chaos, and a constant push-and-pull that kept me turning those pages.👀
The humour in this book caught me completely off guard. There were multiple moments where I was laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face.
One of my favourite quotes:
“I have just declared that I will swallow my pride all to save you. To give you your dual vision back and immortality, basically, minus the heartbeat. And you decide to shit your pants in response? Am I reading this correctly, Mr Carlisle?”
Honestly, that pretty much sums up the energy of this entire book.
As the story progresses and Parker becomes Holden’s next obsession while he becomes hers, things only get crazier. The chemistry, the tension, and the enemies-to-lovers vibes build beautifully throughout the story.
Then came the twist.

Just when I thought I finally had a handle on what was happening, the author completely pulled the rug out from under me.
And then… THAT ending.
That cliffhanger should honestly be illegal.

Parker is an absolute menace in the best way possible, a badass bounty hunter who causes as much chaos as she solves, loves raccoons, and somehow manages to make every situation ten times more complicated. She's weird, chaotic, and impossible not to love.
And Holden? I spent half the book trying to figure him out. He's confusing, intriguing, slightly terrifying, and grumpy as hell 😭🤚
And Parker seems to have made it her personal mission to test his patience at every possible opportunity. Half of his grumpiness is probably just Parker existing in his vicinity. Watching her get under his skin over and over again was honestly one of my favourite parts of the book.
The banter was everything. The tension between Parker and Holden had me hooked from the start, and every conversation between them had me grinning like an idiot.
One thing I absolutely loved was the found family aspect. Parker's bond with her team felt so genuine, and those moments added so much heart to the story. amidst all the chaos, danger, and questionable life choices, seeing how much they cared about each other was easily one of my favourite parts of the book 🥹🖤

Parker's bond with her team felt so genuine, and those moments added so much heart to the story. amidst all the chaos, danger, and questionable life choices, seeing how much they cared about each other was easily one of my favourite parts of the book 🥹🖤
and listen... I cannot justify anyone's actions in this book 😭💀 Everybody is at least a little bit unhinged. Yet somehow I was completely invested in every second of it.
Honestly, this felt like the perfect dark romcom. It's chaotic, funny, ridiculous, and unhinged, yet it still has darker moments that keep you hooked. One minute I was questioning everyone's decisions, and the next I was laughing at the absolute absurdity of it all.
and then THAT plot twist... yeah, no. My jaw is still on the floor.
If you love morally grey characters, chaotic energy, grumpy x sunshine vibes, amazing banter, found family, enemies who absolutely cannot stand each other, and plot twists that leave you staring at a wall for ten minutes, pick this up immediately. Now excuse me while I desperately wait for book 2 because I need answers 😭🖤

These are the words that come to mind when reading Hit & Run!
This book gave off "Weekend At Bernie's, Scythe & Sparrow, and American Psycho" vibes.
Let's dive in and give you the briefest amount of plot, because I think like myself, you need to go in blind!
One warning though, if you are a bit squeamish around blood, gore, and decomposing bodies, then this might not be the book for you.
Let's chat about our two main characters; Holden our MMC and Parker our FMC. Both characters are delusional and a tad on the crazy side, talking to imaginary audiences or dead people.
Holden, is OCD, organised, meticulous, psychotic, and devoid of emotion, that is until he develops an unhealthy and delusional attachment to Mr Carlisle and then of course Parker.
Parker is a chaotic, messy, unhinged bounty hunter for a very underground and dark organisation. She also loves videos about animals doing cute things and is constantly talking to people who aren't there! Parker talks to her team through an earpiece, but also talks to the readers like we are actually there, making her seem quite delusional, but also hilarious! The words that come out of her mouth had me literally cracking up.
Then of course we have Mr Carlisle. He is by far the best side character ive read in a long time and the only side character that ive read that is a decomposing body! Think about the movie Weekend At Bernie's, with Mr Carlisle driving shotgun with Holden wearing a blue bucket hat! Holden of course in his psychotic state talks for Mr Carlisle, and the things he says absolutely cracked me up!
Overall this was a hilarious and unhinged read, with some incredibly tense and kind of gross moments, but I absolutely ate it up! The ending had me literally on the edge of a cliff, and I tell you I am sat for the next book! This was a 5 star read, run don't walk, because you will finish it and go what was that and why do I need more of it?!?!

The way I cackled throughout this book. It’s a dark rom-com that is complete chaos which thrilled my chaotic gremlin little heart. This is a true enemies to lovers. He goes from “ew, she touched me” to “back that a$$ up.”
Parker is our fmc who is an absolute hoot. She is a bit of a clutz and also sometimes unaware, lol. I relate to her so much, except she is a badass bounty hunter and I am not. *sad trash panda noises* Parker and her trusted team track down these bounties and take them to “auction.” Everything is going great until the next bounty that lands in her lap turns out to be the hottie next door. Parker’s POV was an absolute delight because not only did she talk to the characters in the book but also directed conversation to us, the readers, which the characters thought she was going delulu. ✨
Holden is our mmc, who is a completely unhinged psychotic hottie who has glasses and wears suits all the time, except when he is home. Queue the sweats !! 👅 Holden also happens to be a huuuuge germaphobe. Which makes me giggle due to his work. His best friend, Mr. Carlisle, is a taxidermied human whom he ☠️ and also wears the cutest blue bucket hat. The dialogue between these two was hilarious and had me just gut laughing.
There is a twist at the end that I was not expecting but that’s the point of twists, lol. This twist has me so excited to read the second book! I can’t wait to find out more about the cabin!

Parker might be the most chaotic, hilarious FMC I’ve read in a long time and I am fully obsessed. Her inner monologue had me cackling, and watching her get under Holden’s skin like it was her full-time job? Chef’s kiss. Their banter is sharp, electric, and dripping with chemistry from page one.
Holden is the pompous grumpy asshole I didn’t know I needed, and the fact that Parker genuinely disturbs him at every turn makes every interaction pure gold. Mr. Carlisle is the comedic relief we all deserve — his commentary had me in a chokehold, and his unlikely friendship with Holden? Chaotic. Perfect. It works.
The found family element, the strong supporting cast, the genuine warmth woven through the story — it all hit. Fast-paced and funny with relationships that felt real and a team dynamic that added so much depth.
And then that ending plot twist came out of nowhere and now I’m just here, feral and counting down to Book 2. 📖😤

I wasn’t really sure what to expect going into this one, but I love Kinsley Kincaid, so I knew I was in for a good time—and it absolutely delivered!
This story follows Parker and Holden, and it's told in dual POV, which I loved. Parker is a bounty hunter, while Holden is... well, technically a killer. But he only seems to kill people he thinks deserve it—like the person who wrote "douche canoe" on his car!
Parker is an absolutely brilliant FMC. She's badass, slightly deranged, and had me laughing constantly. From her obsession with possum videos to wanting to adopt a baby donkey, and generally doing everything in her power to get under Holden's skin, she was endlessly entertaining.
Honestly, I had the best time reading this. Holden is OCD to the extreme, but for some reason he keeps a body named Mr. Carlisle, drives around with him in the car, and uses him as a sounding board—or sometimes pretends his ideas came from him instead. He's completely unhinged.
Holden is morally black—there's no way around it—but there is also something strangely endearing about him. I think it might be his love for Mr. Carlisle. When he literally goes running to get to him, I actually found myself saying, "Awwww." Then I had to stop and give myself a wee mental slap because... the dude is a dead body!
Together, Parker and Holden are chaotic perfection.
I genuinely thought I knew where this story was heading, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The twist completely caught me off guard, and I did not see it coming at all. It was brilliantly executed and actually made me gasp out loud—a rare achievement for a book these days!
This book does end on a cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to dive into book two. I'm just hoping for more of the same madness and mayhem, because "chaos" is really the only way to describe this one!

Hit & Run grabbed me by the throat and refused to let go.
Parker Presley is pure chaos in human form and I mean that as the highest compliment. Every time she opened her mouth I had absolutely no idea what was about to come out next, but I knew it was going to cause problems. The woman is a menace and I would happily let her ruin my life.
Then there’s Holden.
Listen.
I am not saying I support his behaviour.
I am saying I understand Parker’s inability to leave him alone.
There is a difference.
The chemistry between these two was immediate, the banter was elite and the tension was so good I found myself grinning at my Kindle like a complete lunatic.
What I wasn’t expecting was how much I would fall in love with the entire team. Somewhere between the chaos, the sarcasm, the violence and the dysfunction, this group completely stole my heart.
This book somehow manages to be hilarious, dark, ridiculous, heartfelt and completely addictive all at the same time.
One minute I was laughing.
The next I was emotionally invested.
The next I was wondering if Kinsley Kincaid has cameras hidden in my house because this book felt custom built for my reading taste.
And then that ending happened.
