Shadows of Elysian is a modern-day Dracula retelling with a dark romance twist that completely drew me in. I went into this story expecting an interesting plot, but I didn’t expect to care so deeply about the side characters.
Scarlett, in particular, stood out to me. The way she’s written makes her feel real, layered, and unforgettable. Her spunk, quick remarks, and strong personality made me fall in love with her character in a way I wasn’t expecting.
One of my favorite parts of the book is the friendship between Scarlett and Charlene. Their bond feels genuine, loyal, and full of heart, and it adds so much depth to the darker tone of the story. It’s the kind of friendship that stays with you long after you finish the book.

I absolutely loved this book — it’s fabulous from start to finish and honestly feels like it should be a movie! It’s the perfect blend of cool tech, a stunning luxury penthouse, and fast cars wrapped into an unforgettable adventure. This is the book that genuinely got me back into reading—no exaggeration. I absolutely could not put it down and found myself staying up late into the night just to read just one more chapter. The characters, the plot, everything is completely captivating.
Sara has an incredible way of setting scenes, from the natural, witty, and engaging dialogue between characters to the vividly written fight scenes that pull you right in.
The connection between Charlene and Vlad is absolutely impossible not to become invested in. Trust me, you’ll fall in love with this book and won’t be able to put it down!

I’m not the type of person who’s able to sit down and binge a book in one sitting, but this book was my first. I started it in the morning and finished it 2 hours after the sun went down. Now I won’t spoil but this book was sooo good! I couldn’t put it down. It has the perfect amount of tension that kept me interested through 400 pages. I absolutely LOVED how the ebook brought the book to life with these cute and colorful text shapes. I’ve never seen that before but I hope this will develop into a trend for other authors.

From start to finish I was hooked on this story. Fair warning this IS a series. But it's a phenomenal first book in said series. The characters really made this story pop. They are all well developed. You can clearly see the influence of all the different cultural references with vampire lore but this takes such a unique spin on it. I even appreciated the call outs to other types of vampire lore. My only criticism is that this in ONLY book one and the ending is a Massive Cliffhanger. Like you're going to love it but also it was a good thing my kindle was on a stand. It would have been chucked. Luckily only a pillow was launched. 10/10 Will be recommending this to everyone!.

I genuinely cannot believe this is a debut novel.
The level of detail, the pacing, the character development, and the overall flow were so incredibly well done. I felt completely immersed from beginning to end.
The romance was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy, woven seamlessly into a plot packed with twists, mystery, and enough drama to keep me constantly guessing.
I still can’t stop thinking about this book.
As someone who doesn’t usually gravitate toward stories set in the modern world, this completely changed my mind.
If you’re looking for a vampire romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat, I can’t recommend this one enough.

Favorite ending to a first book ever. Immediately had a million questions about where the next book will take off and what it means for the characters. The character development is so well done. I got emotionally invested in their stories. Especially Charlene 🤌 the pacing of the story picks up after the first little bit and then I felt like I couldn’t put it down! Never thought I’d be keeping company with business executives and creatures of the night while nursing my son to sleep every night, but that is the beauty of good storytelling. It transports you from wherever you are.

The characters were very appealing and complex and compelling and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was excellent and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

This was a wild on the edge of my seat, binge worthy read. I was really impressed by the awesome storyline and how it was written. It felt modern day and refreshing. Vlad looks good in that suit 😉. I had the best time reading this one. I devoured it. I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did. But honestly, I can’t wait to read what this author comes up with next.
